  1. Demonyte:

Does NCL use the refundable or non-refundable OBC first when a cruiser has both?

Also, if I had, say, $ 300 OBC and loaded it on to a slot machine , spin once and then cash out- d0es that work?

Not that I will ever have EXTRA OBC. Just curious.

    Thanks!

    Nora

I too would like to know this. Thanks

  2. Booked the Sun to South America for the November 2016 tour. It is several thousand dollars cheaper than the same cruise they are doing in November 2015. If like my other NCL Cruise that I have booked, the best price was gained by booking early. Not a lot to read on this cruise but I am sure that it will be awesome.

  3. Hi Dhaden, Thanks for the review. It is great to hear from another very recent B2B on the Oasis as I am doing this in less than 40 days on the Oasis. Can I ask a couple of questions. I have read that consecutive cruisers are notified of what the process is a day or so before arrival back at port. How was the process for you? Did you get off the ship in Fort Lauderdale? If so how was that? I have read from nightmares to no worries so I am curious. Also how many laundry bag days were there?

    Thanks for your review. Bruce

  4. Cozumel La Choza sauce. There is a restaurants about 5 blocks all of the main square. It's called La Choza and if you ask a local they will send you in the right direction. It has the most amazing spicy chipotle cream salsa/ sauce that us to die for. I always bring back a few large bottles. I have learned to make it at home as well but nothing tastes exactly like the original.

Totally agree. This restaurant is amazing. It's located at 10th Avenue #216 between Adolfo Rosado Salas & 3rd Sur. Cant wait to go back there in April.

  5. Hey guys. I've been reading around that it's possible to get Passport Stamps if you inquire with and leave your passport at the customer service desk, that they'll get them stamped by immigration officials when the ship docks. Does anybody know if this still occurs?

    Thanks in advance.

I do this. I travel a little but and I like the different stamps. In the Caribbean ports that I have been to there is always an Immigration Office/Officer just as you get off the ship and walk throgh. Just ask someone and they will direct you to the office and they will happily stamp your Passport.

    Enjoy the collection of Stamps.

  6. I really don't see how a facebook entry would mean anything to guest services when you get on board if you find out you didn't get the $USD for $AUD.

Only put it there for others who don't have facebook. I have already had confirmation that the several thousand that i lodged on my three cruises is already there in US Dollars.

  7. We're on the second of our B2B cruises on the Allure of the Seas now and I bought OBC at 1:1 on January 14 for both of the cruises so it's been going for longer than 10 days. I was expecting to pay more but hoping it would be less than the current exchange rate and was really surprised and pleased when the guy I spoke to at RCI said that it was 1:1. I don't know if it was an offer or a glitch but he definitely knew the rate we would be getting when I called. Maybe that was the rate they set back when the Aussie Dollar was close to parity and they never changed it.

Hi there, I hope you are having a fantastic cruise. were you able to withdraw any of you onboard credit in cash to use on shore excursions etc?

  8. Hi all!

I was just advised by the RCI rep that it was a mistake that they were offering $AUD $1 = $USD $1 and that they are now fixing the system that allowed this.

In a couple of days time they will have it fixed then will be offering the conversion rate!

Sorry those that missed out (me) after all we've known about it for 10 days! and happy for those that got in early! :D

    Gae

That's interesting. Anyone else getting this response.

  9. Sorry mate, but that isn't helping the discussion. I appreciate you trying to assist, but people are putting money into their vacations right now. So a *could* isn't extremely helpful advice as people are looking for definites here. Where did you get that date from?

Gee, lighten up. This here is a site that is all opinons. It's not a life or death decision. Either ring up and buy some (I have bought several thousand on the assumption that it will work) or let it ride and buy through a bank and get the usual 73/74 cents. I contacted my TA and she even purchased some and was told by the RCL Rep that this COULD still be on offer in March but RCL MAY cancel the offer at any time.

I am sure that most of us who have purchased read the opinions here then made the decision to call RCL and then after discussion decided then whether to purchase OBC or not.

I know that this is not helping the discussion but it is my opinion.

  10. We're on the Allure of the Seas on B2B Caribbean cruises now and I called the Australian Royal Caribbean number a few weeks before we left and purchased $200 OBC for each of our cruises. They told me it was 1-1 Australian to US Dollars and the receipt showed as you said, with no indication that it was US Dollars.

There was a card delivered to our room on the day we boarded saying we had a gift of $200 Onboard Credit. Message: BEST WISHES Compliments of: SDSDF SDSD .

The onboard credit showed on our account when I looked on the TV in the room that we had $US200 OBCR (the R means refundable and when I asked on the ship what happens if we don't use it all I was told that it will be refunded to my credit card (not that we'll have any left).

So it was certainly a great deal with the $A exchange rate at the moment.

Hi kjen, I hope you are having a wonderful cruise. No one has been able 100% to confirm that you can withdraw cash or the balance in cash. Have you tried this? Thanks

  11. I just purchased $1500AUD at a 1:1 to USD. I asked how I go about getting any remaining OBC when the cruise is over and was told I could get it paid out in cash in USD or put back on my card (forgot to ask what rate it would go back on at).

I also asked if I wanted money when going off the boat for shore excursions could I use the OBC and she said yes - that I could withdraw money from my account in the currency that I needed. Does that sound right? I suppose if you can withdraw cash out from your card you could then use it for the casino.

She also said that the 'special promotion' is going until the end of the week.

    Julie

I did two seperate purchases today and was told exactly the same. I can 'cash out' any remainder.

The lady I spoke to said there was an email with this 1 to 1 offer sent out to C & A members but i did not see this email . Does anyone have a copy? Thanks
