  1. Hi Pete, Log on to your NCL account. Hit the drop down for "My Account" and click "Latitudes Rewards". It will show your status.
  2. My experience is similar to yours. TA posts rates equal to NCL's, as required. No direct cash discount, but OBC, cash back cards and sometimes paid DSC. I am getting all three of these, valued at close to 17% around 16-17% for my CBS this January. And, I received the upgrade advantage for suites.
  3. I'm happy for you, that you got a rally great deal. I did not catch when I read your post the first time (in the wee hours) that you are travelling during spring break. Still - OUCH! Those fares seem so outrageous for a single leg flight of under 2000 miles. I fly out of JFK in NY, so I don't generally survey pricing for other cities' travel. Maybe I'm just unaware.
  4. Those sales may be one continuous "con". But prices do change...sometimes up, sometimes down. My January cruise, booked in July, dropped by $600 a couple of weeks after I booked. Gotta keep your eyes peeled...
  5. Speaking of, my first cruise was on Home lines Oceanic in 1975; second was on Costa Carla in 1986... Specialty restaurant - what's that?
  6. I don't know whether you're location is on a main transport route, but even if it is not, I would think that a R/T fare to MIA in the summer would cost but a fraction of $800 (if that amount is the all-in cost).
  7. Of course. Red shirts don't get offed during a commercial break. Where's the fun in that?
  8. Free at Sea - on sale. Talk about an oxymoron. 🙄
  9. How does one have a "favorite server" when they have never even sailed with NCL before?
  10. Yes, indeed. For NCL. those were the good old days.
  11. Sorry, dude - won't be seeing you in the next episode. 😮
  12. Sounds more like a description of Star Trek crew uniforms.
  13. The MIA restaurants just magically returned.
  14. Hash browns are great - but don't stand a chance against BACON!
  15. Yours is the second or third post I've seem mentioning online reservations for the MDR. There is no such option for my sailing - only specialty venues.
  16. Oops - I'm on the LA to Miami; we'll pass each other on the gangway, LOL. hallux, who is from upstate and posts on these boards regularly, is on your cruise. We are in Merrick.
  17. You forget Kauai. That's 2 destinations you can enjoy.
  18. I guess she was attacked by one of from that heard. And I thought it was just a nasty rumor. Seriously, though, animals are a danger on the roadways. On a personal note, in my younger days I spent a lot of summer time in the Monticello area; especially near White Lake. Also at a little place in Kiamesha Lake.
  19. True, there are certainly no guarantees on the menus. However, I have observed a consistent pattern through posts over the past few months - that they are using the same exact pattern of menus on the Bliss. I have only seen the first seven days and a few from the next week. I'm on a 15 day in January. How many days is your sailing? Just noticed - we're practically neighbors. Anyway, check this out; something I found a while back on another thread here: https://profcruise.com/ncl-menus-2023/
  20. Yeah - I heard there is a vicious herd of rogue deer stalking motorists. 😲
  21. As best that I can recall, the Achille Lauro was quite a small ship. Taking over a vessel with thousands of passengers is a whole other ball game. More importantly, security back then was a relative joke. Security for boarding (likewise, of course, for air travel) is another world today. Can you imagine "passengers" sneaking assault rifles onboard with their luggage today? A full on assault at a pier would be possible. For that matter, so could the takeover of a hotel be of concern - there is no security check there at all and an armed band could simply walk right in. Not something I will be thinking about.
  22. You wrote what I was thinking as I was reading your post: It's Hawaii!! I spent two weeks on 4 islands many years ago when I was single. Great trip. Sailed on POA several years ago with my DW + 4 days pre cruise in Waikiki. Great trip. Again. Paradise, indeed.
