  1. You might change your mind about this being a one time cruise. We have done the round trip Alaska 2 times and Alaska land tour with a cruise also, and we are planning another cruise back to Alaska. It is really a great trip.. We also have cruised the warm weather places many times, we love that also, but they are two different experiences.

Would suggest glacier bay for sure, also if you consider land tour, check out the off the beaten path tours, thoes are our favorite. What ever you chose I think you will enjoy it.

  2. I have booked with TA and also with Princess, both agents were good. But now I usually do my research , know exactly what I want, what the prices are, then. I call my TA to book, I know if I am getting a good deal or not, plus the TA gives me additional OBC, so I am happy . If I have a question or concern, they are good about helping.

  3. If I understand your. question correctly, yes you can access the aft pool there is a door way that leads out to the pool area. We just got off the Crown two weeks ago and we used it. You just go as far back on the Aloha deck , the door is there ( !We were on starboard side, not sure about port side). There is a short stairway up. Hope this helps.

Thrak might be thinking of a different ship, not all of them have that door.

Oops, my bad, you are right, we were staying on baha and took the elevator up . 2 floors,to Riveria , I think my brain is getting fried from watching the presidential debates, either that or should not listen to my hubby when I asked him which floor that was on...so anyway sorry, I was wrong.

  5. I wonder if the online quotes include taxes/fees? Princess doesn't include that in their quotes.... it's added to the listed price.

Sent from my iPad using Forums

With some TA online and phone in the taxes and fees are included in the price, on Princess web site the price is added on when the booking is processed. That might be the difference, but it is worth checking out for sure. Good luck.

  6. We were on the Crown also with the OP, we did see people dressed in different types of clothing, did not bother us, we always do follow the dress guidelines that Princess lists. I would never make a comment about how someone else is dressed Unless I want to compliment them on how nice they look. I do think that one of the reasons people are dressing down a bit ( but still nice) is because of the fees that airlines are charging for luggage. We met some very nice people on the cruise, and had a nice roll call get together. Also the weather was Hot, so that might be a reason for some to dress down a bit. We try to just enjoy the cruise and not let the Stuff..bother us. And just enjoy.

  7. Hi everyone, thanks so much for your responses to my question. I think I would dvr it just on case. We do want to see it but probably in our cabin, as some folks do get a bit wound up about it, and we are on vacation and just want to be informed about the issues, if that is even possible at this point, and since you mentioned it , it might be sort of like a sporting event after all. They could serve pop corn and everything.

  8. We will be on a ship on 9-26-16, I hope this is ok to ask on the boards, do you think the debate between the candidates will be shown somewhere ? We are not looking for political discussion here on the boards, just wonder if it might be shown on the ship?

To our host here on the boards sorry if this is a no no, .If you do not list this, I understand.

  9. I've yet to book a cruise on the Regal or Royal because of the smaller balconies. I love the Caribe balcony size. Maybe someday I'll give it a go but it would need to be a bargain for me to try them.

Exactly, we have not booked on either ship, the tiny balcony and the lack of a promenade deck, we enjoy both those things, so for now it is a deal breaker for us. We are cruising on the other Princess ships as long as we can find itinerary that we want, or we will look as other cruise lines, and we have been Princess people for quite awhile. Everyone can make their own choice. Cruise happy anyway.

  10. Just off the Grand, where there were 2 nice "hooks" on the bathroom door where we hung our robes. Worked great.

We also bought several small/medium magnetic hooks (9 lb and 14 lb test). Which we used on the entry wall to hang jackets and hats. (Alaska cruise). Those were excellent!!!

Where did you find the strong hooks ?? Thanks

  11. We are cruising in a few weeks, went and got our flu shots today, we know it is not fool proof, but we get shots every year any way so Just got it now. Always wipe down what ever we can in the cabin and WASH our hands all the time on board, use sensible precautions. We even take airborne tabs every day. Knock on wood, so far so good. Daughter works in a large hospital and the are getting their flu shots at the hospital now.

  12. Ha, ha...love the comments about the shopping talks, We a avoid them like the plague. But we do attend lectures if we are interested in the topic. DH likes the trivia but not every day. We do go to the production show if it fits with our dinning plans. We don't go to the art auctions. Occasionally a movie, just depends on what is showing. Mostly we like to watch the sea and read good books and we enjoy a cup of coffee or tea at the IC, and some good music in the Pizza. We are on vacation so we don't plan much, just go with the flow.

  13. Have been on the Coral a couple times but no the Island, it has been a few years, my question is about the Patisserie, I don't remember if it has brewed coffee, and other coffee drinks like the IC has ?? Just thinking that if not getting a coffee card wouldn't be used much. Thanks for any information.

  14. can people who have done the panama canel tell me the difference between the full transit and the partial transit and which one would you recommend

Hi, first I would like to say we love the canal cruises. Have done it

3 times, and are thinking of doing it again.

Full transit is you go from the west coast Pacific ocean through the canal to the east coast Atlantic ocean , or reverse, you travel through both sets of locks. A partial transit is going through one set of locks usually Atlantic , turn around and go out the same set of locks on the way out. Both cruises are good, personally we prefer the full transit, but that would be just my opinion. Which ever you choose it is a interesting experience. Enjoy.
