Here are a few of the changes:

      Increase in gratuities

      Smoking policy changed

      TV channels changed considerably

Bar service gratuities increased from 15 to 18%

Room service now charges for all room service after 10 pm

      WiFi charges increased

What changed with smoking? Just no smoking on balconies?

Just checked in today for my upcoming cruise out of New Orleans. The earliest check in time available was 1-1:30pm.

Anyone recently sail out of this port and can explain how the check in process was? How strict is this port with checking in early? Is there a time period that is normally slower that we can try/ask to check in prior to the 1pm time we have? If we try to check in early, do we get put in a early/late check in line or do we have to sit and wait for our time before even joining a line?

This will be the first time we cruise out of this port - any cruisers recently sail out of New Orelans that can share their check in process? Unfortunately we are only gold and do not have FTTF. Thanks!

Did you pick your check in time as soon as they opened up? We are cruising out of NOLA in October and I've been trying to find out the earliest we can board without FTTF. Our boarding times haven't opened yet.

I wouldn't worry about it.  Club O2 is much more a meet up place than a loud partying place.

While I have never had a cabin above it, I have "popped in" for a safety check, and wouldn't hesitate to book above it.

Thank you! I was told they sometimes have dance parties and that worried me since we have a 6 year old.

  4. What is the earliest check in time you've been able to select on Carnival without FTTF? This is our first cruise since they started doing it this way and we like to get there earlier but FTTF is sold out already for October.

We too had a 7 year cruise hiatus due to some crappy life circumstances, but in 2017 we returned to cruising, took another last year, and got our next coming up in April. I totally understand your excitement, and trust me, that excitement comes back every time you book! :classic_laugh:

I'm hoping we will be doing the same! We said in 8 months and are already planning for 2020. Haha!

  6. Thanks everyone! I called my pvp and there are no balcony/interior combos on 7 that work for us. He has some stuff on deck 8 but I think we'd have more noise from the Lido buffet than Club O2. Since no one seems to think we'd have an issue with smoke in our cabins (even if there is a slight smell in the hall) then we are going to stay where we are booked. Fingers crossed that it works out for us. I know there are no perfect cabins on these ships but for the money we spend I want to make sure my kids sleep and don't have asthma issue. Thanks again!

  7. We are booked in rooms 6368 and 6370 on the Glory. These rooms are directly above Club O2 and by the midship elevators that are near the casino/casino bar. Has anyone stayed in these cabins that could advise if noise from O2 or smoke from the casino will be an issue? I'm wondering if I need to attempt to move to a different deck.

I stayed on the forward starboard side (6247) but walked through that hallway a few times and didn't smell any smoke. In fact the only place it was overwhelming was walking past the casino to ClubO2. As far as noise goes, there were not that many teens on the ship when we cruised and anytime we'd pop in to check on our teens it was pretty quiet in there. Our cabin was right above the Amber Palace and we did hear the shows through the floor but our white noise app canceled it out. I'd imagine being above Club O2 would be quieter than listening to an hour of rock or Cubano music.

Thank you, that makes me feel a lot better! I'll take our white noise machines.
