  1. I don't think the comments in this thread are saying "Because Days Inn does..., so should NCL". My interpretation is the comments are saying "So long as the cruising public is OK with Days Inn quality and level of service, NCL is going to be inclined to lower themselves to that level"
  2. Exactly. NCL (and other mass market lines) have already done it with the food, lowering to cheapest chain quality, it only makes sense that they will do it to the hotel too.
  3. IMO, that is simply an awful, awful policy. Do any of our local NCL apologists care to explain or justify the policy of canceling the entire cruise vs canceling only the unpaid added-on portion?
  4. If your client is offline or for any reason can not communicate with your server, it is possible that your e-mails can be recalled. That would be an equally broken/bad policy. The policy should be that if you add ground transfers and they aren't immediately paid, the ground transfers are canceled, not the entire cruise.
  5. For those who saw it on Broadway, we've never seen the movie. Should we see the movie before we go on Viva in December?
  6. Not surprised about the gmail. If private messaging was available, I'd have you test it against my work account. But not going to put that in a public forum.
  7. Thanks. That post is wrong, which is not the first time for Microsoft. But, I understand you'll believe a published MS statement over some schmuck like me on the internet. I would too. 'Nuff said.
  8. For those saying to use a TA - do you have the TA's book your excursions too?
  9. So in other words, the cruiser fell into NCL's trap and, well, too bad for them. As I said, I hope NCL gets a lot of exposure because of this.
  10. Do you have a link for that quote? "Microsoft Support site" is rather dubious, it could be some misinformed Microsoft employee or worse, just some internet yahoo writing that. As I said above, message recall is part of SMTP and I've used it across organizations many times.
  11. I'm sorry, but this is simply NOT correct. Message recall is part of the SMTP protocol and has been for years. SMTP is group or organization agnostic. It's very possible your group or organization doesn't allow recall in either direction but I assure you it works across organizations and across mail systems. I have sent mail to customers and recalled them successfully. I have had customers attempt to recall mail from me - the request made it to me, but, I have my mail configured to disallow recall. There are situations where it won't work. For example, if you POP mail from a server to your client, then the mail on your client can't be recalled. I *think* you are correct in that a mail that has been opened can't be recalled (not positive and not going to read the spec).
  12. I don't see NCL disputing the fact that the cruise was paid in full, so, I am going to assume that it was. A fully paid cruise should never get canceled - it's as simple as that. The fact that NCL won't fix this makes me hope NCL gets all kinds of bad press here, they deserve it.
  13. Then you, or your mail administrator, probably have recalls disabled. But mail recall is absolutely a thing, I use it from time to time myself and it works (except to people like myself who have the ability to have my e-mails recalled, disabled) Perhaps the victim didn't open the emails.
  14. @screenname2004 I Agree with @pghflyer and will add that you MUST get to guest services to pick up your remaining REFUNDABLE balance before you disembark the ship, else you will be flagged and pulled out of line, delaying your exit off the ship.
  15. If you've not tipped above the mandatory gratuity, then how do you know you get as good a service? Because I know that I get better service when I tip extra, I've experienced it.
  16. Who said it made a difference? Is there something wrong, in your opinion, with people such as @JimP1903 asking a question to enhance their knowledge base further? Actually, that's a rhetorical question, we all know that you seem to love dismissing people's questions like this one.
  17. I saw it. But it was irrelevant to the discussion I was having which was related to posts that appeared before your picture.
  18. @Sthrngary I basically agree with your assertion. "Not Better or Worse, Just Different". But one thing that I really miss is that cruising used to make you feel like you were "special". Nowadays, not so much. I do miss that.
  19. And you don't believe that is phishing? Sorry to predict, but it's only a matter of time before something bad happens as a result of your falling for these attacks.
  20. Wow, this was getting dangerously close to that $2 bill thread that finally died. I'd hate to see that get revived.
  21. Perhaps they are, I've never been in a ship's galley. But our resident engineer, @chengkp75 who states he was responsible for maintaining all the kitchen equipment claims they don't have microwaves in the galley: He also disputed my claim that they are not scratch cooking onboard. Again, I have no proof but @YVRteacher who does have some inside knowledge offered support in that same thread that food is prepared off ship. So maybe I shouldn't take @chengkp75 word as fact all the time? So, @LoungerOnBalcony55, you may be right, I don't know. I was just referring to what someone whom I usually trust, claimed.
  22. Our resident engineer (I think), in a different thread, seemed certain that there were no microwaves anywhere on the ship, public or otherwise.
  23. I agree with you, but, unfortunately, that ship sailed a long time ago. I want good bar service, I don't want to have to wait, and I want my bartender to remember me, so, I tip.
  24. Yes, they do pre-sell Vibe and generally speaking nowadays the only way to get vibe is to pre-buy. This all changed last summer sometime.
  25. There is a discussion somewhere in these boards of someone buying Vibe passes, and then having them revoked because some charter group paid to take over the whole Vibe for themselves. So it can happen.
