  1. With the various viruses that are going around, I agree that it's stupid to participate in something like that, if you care at all about not getting the latest virus du jour. I also recognize some people don't care about that. I think the key is "when they crowd people in like they did". We've done various travelling post Covid including cruising. The predominant thing we did besides frequent had washing was avoiding crowds. We seldom rode elevators (and never crowded ones), we didn't rush for the early tenders (avoiding the crowd waiting to get on), we avoided the standing room only venues. I'm not a virolgist, but, I suspect that avoiding the crowds has been the key to keeping us healthy.
  2. Interesting. So bottom bunk is actually a double. I didn't realize they ha such a thing. Looks perfect for families with small-ish kids. thanks for sharing.
  3. I'm intrigued by the idea of putting 5 people in an Oceanview Stateroom. I thought 4 was the limit. We've never had a need to put more than three of us in a stateroom, so, never looked into something like 5. (I know you can do it in some Haven arrangements, but, that's not what this OP has).
  4. I'm sure this is coming, but, I for one would object. I like my hardcopy Freestyle Daily.
  5. I wonder how you knew. If I took a strip and cut it to about the size of a tenderloin, how would you know the difference in a Teppenyaki environment?
  6. I did as well and I saw the poster's name as "burgerboy". Thought for sure it was going to be someone else complaining about the fall apart burger rolls.
  7. We've done it a few times and not had any problems. We always do balconies. Years ago, our concern was obstructed view balconies which we wouldn't want so wouldn't take that chance. On new ships, there are no obstructed view balconies. With NCL, part of the equation is the drink package and how much you are likely to drink. If you don't drink at all, Sail-Away can be a "no brainer". Even if you only have occasional drinks, Sail-Away can be a decent savings. I actually posted my analysis of doing Sail-Away in this post, maybe it will help you:
  8. I get $250 and all I need to do is be firm with them for a couple minutes. It's easy money. But, I also understand why people don't want to deal with it and I don't blame them.
  9. Telling lies and otherwise fast talking, high pressure talking to mislead potential customers to entice them to spend money or spend more money. Very typical example, I wanted 2 CN certs, went to the desk with my form filled out, told them I wanted two certs and they start in with the BS of how I can get 2 more for free - for the same price. What they are twisting is the idea to use the $250 of OBC to buy the two other certs, completely ignoring the $500 you still need to pay. They are smooth, fast talkers and I am sure they catch a lot of people. When I told them I knew what I wanted, thank you very much, they got annoyed and pused further.
  10. It is wrong. Sounds like someone booked a crusie with the double points promo and a PCC was trying to take credit for the promo. I guess the PCCs are taking a page from the Cruise Next folks (who follow the playbook defined by the timeshare companies).
  11. You can leave it right up to the moment it sells out. Tough part is knowing what that point is. I'm pretty sure that you would get spa refunded if you upgrade to a spa cabin. Vibe is supposed to be refundable prior to embarkation and at least one poster above has experienced that successfully.
  12. We also have cruised for decades and until very recently, I don't recall ever feeling compelled to stand in line waiting just to be sure we can get in to an entertainment venue as has been described in reports about Prima. The first time I recall this phenomenon was an NCL ship to get into Cavern Club or whatever venue was hosting the Beatles tribute (sorry, I don't recall which ship). Now, as I stated in your first response to this quote, we aren't picky about seats for dining, and we aren't picky about seats for entertainment. We show up when we want (prior to showtime, of course) and sit where we can. Until that Beatles show, we have never felt a need to stand in line somewhere just to get in. Even for major national acts like Jerry Lewis, we didn't feel a need to get to the venue early.
  13. I was unaware that Kinky was considered "primary" and Choir "secondary". In my opinion they both were high quality shows and personally I believe they kept the better of the two. I've no heard plans for a replacement for Kinky.
  14. I got 3 of these last night, all apparently related to the 1 Encore cruise we were on in November. All identical except the print date and time ranged from 11:17PM to 12:40AM. Likely a computer glitch, just wondering if anyone else got them.
  15. It's not a fine, it's damages that have been awarded to a separate corporation.
  16. You got it correct. Now commit what you wrote to memory and IGNORE anything and everything the sleazy Cruise Next folks say. Just tell them how many certificates you want and stick to it. Anything they say is said for one purpose only - to get you to spend more money. (Or better yet, fill out the form yourself and hand it to them and walk away) As for buying 3 certificates, be sure you understand how they are used. You can use 1 per cabin, unless there is a double up promotion which is typically balcony or above, 6 months in advance where you can use 2 per cabin. On rare occasions, there might be triple promotions. My wife and I only buy 1 cabin at a time, so, we buy certificates in pairs. Maybe you buy multiple cabins (e.g. for family) so the three certs makes sense. Could be many reasons. Just be sure you understand how they are used.
  17. I didn't realize people still used Craigslist.
  18. Just as long as it's in Miami for our Dec 6, 2023 sailing, I'll be happy. But the thought of changes to the TA have me getting anxious about our Dec 6 cruise (ours is still on the web site and bookable).
  19. Don't laugh, it keeps the fish out 😉 Definitely wouldn't have ignored it and likely would have said something and when it was not well received, asked to be reseated. Of course, reseating at Teppenyaki is problem and if it was obvious that reseating couldn't be accommodated, I would have left just like you did.
  20. Or, perhaps, simply QED like most of use.
  21. Sorry, I didn't expect you to nor would I post mine. That part of my statement was somewhat rhetorical.
  22. whatever you do, use a lot less words than you did in your original post. Like 80% fewer. No one who can help you is going to read all that. They just aren't.
  23. I don't believe they have changed it. Such a change would be contrary to every business practice we've recently seen from NCL.
  24. It's not that I don't believe you, but, I know that this can be very confusing and the printed summaries from Guest Services aren't intuitive and the Cruise Next folks lie. I would have to see your summary of on board charges before I believe that NR OBC was used for DSC.
