  1. Not a lot of options for luggage storage downtown. The Edgewater Hotel stores bags for non-guests. They are downtown along the waterfront. Figuring your transportation times, and cost, it will be inconvenient to explore for the short time you’ll be in town. I’ll be interested to see what other suggestions you get here. Take a look at Trip Advisor. That question comes up more often there. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g60878-i74-Seattle_Washington.html
  2. @Sand and Seas Anthony’s is across the street and the often missed excellent restaurant in Six Seven next to the cruise terminal in the Edgewater Hotel. By taking the elevator across from the terminal, you go walk up Bell St. to several great restaurants that are more frequented by folks in the Belltown neighborhood than visitors. The Thai restaurant Bangrak Market opened a few years ago and has been a huge hit. Also in the area along 2nd Ave, Rocco’s for a slice of pizza, the extremely popular Shiro’s Sushi (if you can get in) in additional to some take out places and a new restaurant that just opened this month, Hatch Cantina.

  4. @5waldos Yeah, it didn’t seem very clear. I think that, in our case, it is implied that it was needed to be completed again since our entry into Canada and the stop in Victoria was outside the 72 hour window for completion.
  5. Since the OP only asked about the ArriveCan app as it applied to Victoria that’s all I addressed. We departed from Vancouver and needed ArriveCan to enter Canada and board but also needed to complete it again prior to disembarking in Victoria.
  6. We would take the Skytrain as we did today, regardless. We jay walk sometimes too. Living on the edge. The chances of being tested and it coming back positive are slim, although it could happen. Actually, we did ponder this for a moment and if just one of us was positive the other would get the car. I’m all about contingencies but, in this case, we’d be getting to that car and across the border.
  7. You'll get paperwork in your cabin a couple days before arriving in Victoria on how to complete the process. Once completed, you'll give the confirmation number to your cabin steward. Ours reminded us to get it done. You will get the number and QC code upon completion. We made a quick screen shot of it but never needed it again. You'll use the address for the port for your Victoria destination which will also be provided by Princess. If you have problems with it, go to the internet cafe not passenger services.
  8. Beacon in Whittier said results back in 15 minutes.
  9. September can get a bit rough on those small boats because of bad weather. This is part of a Facebook post from Jayleen’s Alaska from September 29, 2021, “The main reason we stop offering tours in September is because of the weather. It gets BAD. Rough waves, high winds & heavy rain become a common occurrence in the fall” We went out with Harv n Marv several years ago and it was very rough. They canceled the next tour. We’ve been using Juneau Whale Watch whose boats are larger and more stable but smaller than the Allen Marine vessels you book through the cruise line. The last trip out with them we had 23 on board.
  10. In 6 trips I had not seen less ice in the bay. You hear so much about ice being the main concern with getting close although, I suppose, that’s pretty simplistic and there are other factors. Just have to hope that they are not making attempts due to the pricey optional excursion being available.
  11. We had good trips with Juneau Whale Watch and are doing our 4th with them this morning. We had 28 passengers on our trip with them last week. There was a lot of room for viewing at the rail.
  12. I would want to be tested in Anchorage prior to your cruise as well. If that doesn’t work, Beacon has sites in Seward and Whittier as well as the Eagan Center and Hilton Hotel in Anchorage. They have a trailer next to the cruise terminal in Whittier so have to think the Seward location is convenient as well. https://beaconohss.formstack.com/forms/commercial_cruise_line_testing_registration
  13. We’re at Hubbard Glacier on a beautiful day this afternoon on the Royal Princess. Of six trips to Hubbard I’ve not seen less ice in the bay than today yet we only made it to about 9 miles from the glacier. We’ve been to the face past Haenke Island twice with more ice. I do wonder if the optional excursion has anything to do with fewer trips close to the glacier. I think there may be less motivation by Princess to continue to the glacier since they make additional revenue with the optional excursion being booked through their site. I suppose those first timers are loving this but once you’ve experience being dwarfed by Hubbard up close, it can be a bit disappointed being so far away. Might be time to bite the bullet and pay for the excursion if that’s the only way to get a close up.
  14. Labor shortages in Southeast Alaska may result in some vendors operating at less than 100%. https://www.alaskasnewssource.com/2022/04/19/help-wanted-southeast-alaska-tourism-businesses-prepare-summer-season-with-labor-shortages/?fbclid=IwAR3dLNdIKFiulefRXP7Gv-Hq4CVtxx9jmcx4elWVwxRu_qmZhMNqm7ox_Ic
