  1. Years ago they used to have 10-11 day cruises from Galveston (returned to Galveston too).

Then followed up with shorter cruises...I was on an 11 nite cruise from Galveston...Splendor of the Seas.(yes Royal) but couldn't any cruise line do this?

I quess economics would be the deciding factor.

  2. I usually buy one 12 pack of water and the soda package from Carnival.....after I drink 1 or 2 of the bottled waters I save the bottles and then ask for a diet coke without ice (every time I am headed to the cabin)... fill up my empty water bottles and in the mini-frig they go....my morning diet coke is my coffee....

  3. I have only experienced a Chef's Table on another cruise line and they paired each course with a different wine ( 6-7 courses with different wines)....we are sailing on Vista in October and are considering the Chef's Table....do they also offer the different wine pairings?

  4. I'm in!! Thanks for the great pictures. My kids and I are sailing at the end of July for a graduation/celebration cruise. Can't wait to find out more about your trip!

    Have a great trip!!

BTW I was hoping to see Liberty sail away, but the cruise cam on Galveston.com doesn't seem to be working (unless it is my computer).

when in July....we are on July 23rd for my gd's graduation sailing...

  5. I called C/A to book (I am a D+ and my GD is a D).....she said nope couldn't do it....even checked with her supervisor.....I remember 4 years ago when my gd was 14 and took a friend we had this same problem and the cabins were connecting. At that time we didn't have other people traveling with us so I booked Carnival....Seems Royal has 5 different answers for the same question!

  6. I cruise often with my GD ( 28 cruises for her so far) she just turned 18 and this will be her graduation from HS cruise. Normally we share a cabin but this time because she can no longer go in the teen club she is bringing a friend to "hang with". I was surprised to learn I could not book the cabin next door to me for her because she is not 21 and I am only the grandparent not a parent....however she can gamble on her own and I can book her with anyone who is 21 even if they aren't related in the same cabin. I always travel with a consent to travel form for both her and her sister.

I also cruise on Carnival....yes I do like Carnival too....and have booked her adjacent cabins before with Carnival. She knows how to behave and she knows the wrath of Gammie would visit her if she didn't!

I know nothing can be done about this...just needed to vent...we have 5 cabins booked so I think we can work around this....just inconvenient

  7. I am trying to decide between the 2 ships....pricing about the same....same ports....driving to both ports and the distance is about the same....I am taking my my 18 yr old granddaughter and her 18 yr old friend as a graduation present.

I have cruised on Magic, Breeze and Conquest so I have been on both classes of ships. I am leaning towards Dream...thoughts?

    Thanks
