  1. I would love to know too. A 6 night on Magic just popped up for spring break 2015 at a decent rate. While I was booking my PVP said he did not know what was going on with Triumph.....rumors were it was being moved....I am not sure about that because you can still book Triumph from Galveston during the summer of 2015. Probably just a rumor!

  2. Mine dropped $550 per person 2 weeks before the sailing date. I am in an aft balcony....all higher cabins booked....No OBC.....I booked directly with NCL and my PCC is an idiot! Not because he can't offer me anything but because he is inept....he will email me to call him then when I do he will ask me what I want....I could go on and on, but this was his latest.

I have emailed NCL and asked for a new PCC!

  3. Have to agree on the 5/25 sail date. Disembark was really easy, but like i said in my review and i don't know how much is true, but for one this sail date had a port security post inspection and the porter also said when you cruise to belize, the customs is a lot slower.

While i also agree with the OP about the cluster after trying to get your luggage, other that going to your # posted on the wall that matches your luggage, as soon as we saw an empty porter, we waived our hand and the rest was good.

I was also told (by a porter) that the custom inspection is longer after a trip to Belize....true.....who knows.....maybe we both had the same porter!

  4. Thoughts on spending and an extra $320 ( total for 2 people) to upgrade from an angled balcony to a large balcony mini suite?

I know that approximately 2/3 of the M6 balcony is exposed....I am wondering about deck 8 versus deck 13....I do spend a lot of time on the balcony....

  5. I booked directly with NCL, and used the AARP discount. I never saw any fine print where the 2 couldn't be combined. I can understand that the HSN discount and the OBC that NCL was offering couldn't be combined, but I didn't recieve either of those. Frustrating to say the least.

Same thing happened to me....nothing in any kind of print about not combinable with other offers....will not "ruin" my cruise, but it is disappointing.

Although it will do no good, I sent NCL a copy of the letter and "suggested" if they will not combine offers, they should put a disclaimer somewhere on the letter.

I know it will do me no good.....but I felt better by getting my 2 cents in!

  6. Just got off the phone with my TA.....Liberty 9 night, 8/13/15....is $5,652 for 2 people in a standard balcony room. Are they crazy?? Who is going to pay those rates?? Not to mention that a 4 person Grand Suite was $13,612. That is more expensive than the Quantum....WOW RCI

I called too.....for March 2016 a grand suite is $3500 more than I paid for the same suite this last March....balconies were $2000 more than my grand suite this year.....I guess after 35 cruises on Royal I may be priced out!

  7. Last year I used a private car thru Go Shuttle to go from FLL to a downtown Miami hotel and they would not stop at a drugstore for me so I could purchase soft drinks and water for the cruise. I broke an arm last year and carrying anything heavy is hard to do with the 13 screws it took to put me back together!

Can anyone recommend a private car service that will make one 5 minute stop?

  8. Priceline is one of the better ways to go. Haven't used them pre-cruise, only for city center stays where "any hotel in the center goes".

For direct hotel chosing and similar prices I like to use Travelpony.com, using the link gets you also instant $35 credit. First win!

No spam, see my post count, just helping out each other.

Example; Miami 4/24/14 to 4/27/14 goes for $169 a night for the Intercontinental. Booking.com charges $224.

Woo Hoo....thanks so much for the tip....I wanted InterContinental Miami for July 4th....I kept checking and the only price I could get was $244 plus tax....just booked thru TravelPony...$109-$35=$89 plus tax...so excited!!

It is a pre-cruise stay so I did not want to spend a lot of money for 1 night!!

  9. Cindy...

I have cruised Alaska...I took my daughter when she was in her 20's....she did not want to go....said it would be all "old people".....ask her today and she will tell you it was her favorite cruise...she has cruised all over the Caribbean and Hawaii but Alaska is her all time favorite.

My granddaughter also loves to cruise, I started taking her with me when she was 2 and the March 9th cruise will be her 24th cruise and my 43rd! Yes...she is a tad bit spoiled and I am addicted to cruising!

  10. Cindy....thank you so much for a wonderful review....so much great information. I will be on NOS on March 9th with my 2 granddaughters and now I am more excited than before!

I can't wait until your Europe review, I plan on taking my oldest granddaughter for her 16th birthday in 2015 and I am totally lost....after so many Caribbean cruises it is time to for me to climb out of my box.
