Although we haven't received the official email offer to an OBC if we keep our planned cruise (April 25th), we've been looking at other posts from those who have cancelled and received credit and I think we understand how that part works if we decide to cancel.

Does anyone know if our current $200 OBC would be transferred to a future cruise or we lose that?

It would depend on how you got the $200  obc      if was a booking incentive for that cruise then I don't think so.  If it was stock holder credit it would transfer

The email Carnival sent is confusing.  No where (that I can find) does it state that any $$ will be refunded to your credit card.

If this was not going on and you cancelled with a 50% cancelation fee  You would get back 50% to your original form of payment  and lose the other 50%

Now instead of losing 50% for canceling you get a FCC

Can someone help me with this section of the new policy:

"For passengers who booked before March 6, 2020, if you decide to change vacation plans, Carnival will allow those booked on sailings between now and May 31 to move their booking to a new date and receive a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) in the amount of the non-refundable cancellation fee."

Cruise is first week of April and fully paid.  Cancellation fee is 50% of fare.

Does policy above mean we have to move our current booking to a new date and will be charged the 50% cancellation fee which we can then use for a future cruise?  So essentially we now have to take two cruises to come out even?  Very confused, thanks.

No  The way I understand it is the 50% cancellation fee will be your FCC and the other 50% will be returned to you in the original form of payment.

    1.  Any cruise, as long as it sails before March 31, 2021.

    2.  You need to rebook it before March 31, 2020.... as in, by the end of this month.  Otherwise, you're on your currently booked cruise with a $200/cabin credit.

I didn't see where it said we had to rebook by March 31   I read we had to choose to either go or cancel by 3-31

  5. Im feeling confused this morning.   We have a cruised booked May 23,  with $198 in non refundable deposit.

Final payment is due Monday. So if I decide to cancel I will get my $198 in a FCC?

If I go ahead and make final payment I will still have until March 31 to change my mind?

If I decide to cancel on March 31 all my payments will go on a FCC to be used before 03/2021

    Am I understanding this correctly.

  6. I used to eat lobster everywhere it was offered.

Then someone ask me if I liked the lobster or the butter.

To tell the truth I liked the butter and plain lobster was just OK.

Saved me lots of money not ordering lobster out.

but ill still jump on the free butter with lobster on cruises.

I have the $99/person non-refundable deposit on the cruise.  I started with the rep that answered the regular 1-800 number and explained what I wanted to do.  After she looked up my booking she did transfer me to the casino department where they took care of the re-pricing.  You will need you booking number and PIN when you call.

Thanks sir     I just saved $70   Every little bit helps.    You can only do it until final payment is due is what the lady told me?

    Thanks again.

Yes, generally you can get the better rate.  I just did this yesterday for a casino rate that we booked a couple of months ago.  The total cost was $150 less that what we originally booked it for.  I called the 800 number and the rep was very helpful in repricing my cruise.  I received the $150 difference as OBC.  Also, there is a time limit on re-pricing your cruise.  We are sailing April 26 and the rep said I could re-price until February 11 but no re-pricing after that.

Did you have to go thru the casino department or just the first person on the regular 1-800 number.

Did you have a non refundable deposit?

    Thanks

I have a question regarding cancellations.  Is the cruise cash non-refundable in the event of a cancellation?  I have a cruise in 2 weeks and I’m considering ordering some but what if, between now and my cruise, we have to cancel?  Does insurance cover?

    Thanks!

If you cancel you get a full refund to the form of payment used.  Non refundable starts when the cruise starts.

  11. We learned this awhile back also.  it's the same thing if you buy from the fun shops.  group orders are cancelled as group orders.  We buy everything as single items now.

I think one reasons way back when they used to give 10% discounts on shore excursion the first 48 hours after booking.  They were sold normally in groups of 3 excursion.  you used to be able cancel 1 and keep the discount on the other 2. (covering eyes) I did this for the savings.  They caught on and fixed it.

I've had my reservation for months, done the old way.  I have the confirmation e-mail.

So will they just bill my S&S card like they always have done?

I think so, We have 2 future reservations without pre paying.  I'm taking my e-mail with us just to be sure we get in.

I not a fan of the new policy since I usually have OBC that we use for the steakhouse.

I guess we can always wait and make reservations after boarding, I'm just hope we can still get the day and time we wanted.

Things have changed a lot since your last visit!  The Sheraton Resort is now called the Melia and no longer has a casino.  The Melia offers an all-inclusive day pass for something like $140.  Right next door to the Melia is the Baha Mar which does have a casino but doesn't offer day passes.  But there's no reason you couldn't get a day pass at the Melia and then spend part of the day at the Baha Mar casino.  Take the #10 bus to get there.

Perfect.  Thanks so much. That’s exactly the info I was looking for.

  14. It’s been awhile since we have been to Nassau

We used to get a day pass to a resort on cable beach that had AI, Casino, Beach & pool. I can’t remember the name. Is it still offered?

we also took the local bus outside the port. Does anyone know the bus number?

    TIA

  15.  We always book guarantee, We are not picky about location and like saving a few bucks.

We have never had a bad cabin, (yet)

Other poster have mentioned to check your booking and it will show up, (I check daily)

Just to make you aware, (rarely) But you might not get you assigned cabin until your at the port.

No worries if that happens.  The porters have cabin numbers and luggage tags for you.

Out of 27 guarantee this only happened one time.

  16. Read the whole casino offer    Some give OBC  some give fun chips.

Also ask your TA to see what she can give you using the casino offer.

I use my casino offer thru a TA all the time.  My last offer was DOU day 1 plus $500. OBC

I booked my cruise thru my TA and got another $150 OBC thru them

I doesn't hurt to ask and see what's the best deal for you.

  17. We like Mr Sanchos also.  But there are times we just want to relax and enjoy a more quieter day we go to Nachi Cocum.   They only allow 130 people per day so it's not crowded.  It just down the road from sanchos so its the same beach.

Just curious if anyone on here has done the Chefs Table on the Horizon?  My son/d-i-l say we should do it.  I seen (by their pictures, etc.) what they had, and I'm afraid that most of these foods, I probably would not like. 😞 I'm not one of those people that eat just about "anything" that is put in front of me.  I'm just wondering "if" I did it, and still did not like the foods, would it be worth the money to just SEE what all is involved in preparing food for the ship?

If I was you I would do the behind the fun tour if you not a foodie. You get a full tour of the ship behind the scenes. You can see the kitchen plus a lot more stuff

It is NOT listed on the Carnival web site yet, to purchase for room.  I've been waiting to get a 6 pack before our cruise   Hoping it shows up eventually.

It might never show up  I'm a DP drinker but lived with Mr Pibb.   Mr pibb was available while sailing but was never available to pre order on line.  Maybe you could call the fun shops and they could order it for you.
