Sounds like night and day between Navigator and Odyssey when it comes to the Windjammer.

That is interesting as Allure has always had a stationary ice cream station in the Windjammer when I've been aboard. I would not appreciate what you experienced.

Honestly Dani, I don't know how you do it. I realize that is home for you. However, I would grab that bag with IDs, passports, money, and jewelry and move. We may have our issue as a country but I think I speak for everyone when I say we would welcome you to the U.S. Just say'n.

I was on the sailing as well and agree with everything that has been said. It was my first time on a Q class ship. It has a few design quirks that I didn't care for but it is beautiful and well maintained ship with a great crew. It has the most functional Windjammer of any RCI ship that I've been on. It was a great week, can't really think of any negatives and no need to restate what has already been said. @robmtxI agree about James in the Schooner Bar. He was fantastic. I thought the bartenders were too. That became my "go to" bar for the week.

You were on Odyssey last week, too? What did you think of the ship?

Every Windjammer on RCI that I have eaten in for years now has had a dinner time ice cream station. Odyssey had multiple flavors last week.

Not necessarily. The percentage has to do with the number of people aboard. For example, two cabins with double occupancy would be quivalent to one cabin with quadruple occupancy and an empty cabin as far as percentage is concerned.

The problem occurs for those folks who have no interest in beach days. At least at a regular port stop there are options for everyone.

I have always felt the same as the OP about the desserts on RCI. However, last week on Odyssey I was very surprised to find that some of the Windjammer desserts were actually very good. I'm not quite sure how that happened. 🤔

One person mentions gratuities and this turns into a typical CC tipping thread with not one thing said that hadn't been said before.

I think that which side of the Hudson River one lives on can have a big influence on opinions as trying to get across it can at times be challenging to say the least. Of course, showing up in NYC with a car is often no walk in the park either.

I don't know as I haven't looked into it recently. However, we did sail Celebrity years ago from NYC to Bermuda and it was a very positive experience.

That was a very good buy.

I would much rather sail from NYC. Take AMTRAK to the city then a very short ride to the piers.

I agree about Sandy. I don't know what's up with her this season. I am not a Lee fan but I'm ready for him to return.
