  1. Really enjoying reading your perspective. We share a love of Maho on St. Maarten. I've had the experience of being behind a 747 beginning its takeoff roll... unforgettable.
  2. Can't beat sitting outside in fresh air listening to the sound of the ocean.
  3. Depends on your definition of early. On Allure I think the Park Cafe opened at 8AM. That is more than 3 hrs after I get up
  4. They will be when the next virus sweeps across the planet and they are the only people willing to step foot aboard a cruise ship. A healthy patient who comes into the office once a year for a physical is just as important to me as one who has medical issues and is in every three months. Everyone is important no matter their contribution. Some even cost the practice money depending on needs and insurance reimbursement. However, their good will, word of mouth, and referrals help make up that individual financial loss. If one grandmother and her issues provide a net loss I'm willing to take that in return for her three children and eight grand kids. There are too many variables to pin each individual to overall business profit and loss. The overall mix of the population is far more important.
  5. There is only an opportunity cost if the person using a voucher would have otherwise paid for the drink or that voucher drink prevents someone else from buying a drink due to lack of inventory.
  6. I understand all that. However, empty cabins also mean no gratuities for staff and that pay needs to be made up somewhere. You can't adjust crew staffing weekly depending upon how many cabins are booked. I still say RCI is better off with a D, D+, P in the cabin than they are with an empty cabin. I would also point out that those folks might be more motivated to spend if on board pricing was a bit more reasonable. I still say there is a need for everyone who books. If not then RCI would de-incentivize those that it wanted to get rid of.
  7. There are far more non suite cabins on ships than suites that need to be filled. Don't knock the people who are filling them up as they are just as important to RCI's prosperity as those booking the suites Maybe instead of talking to every LA, hotel director, and revenue manager about it you should try just enjoying your cruise.
  8. I just joke about it but have no hate. Would like to be one someday but don't see it happening.
  9. That was way too simple, and undramatic, of an answer.
  10. I don't think any bus goes right to the lighthouse, but which number bus would get the closest and is it walkable from that point? None of us have any walking or mobility issues. Thanks for any info.
  11. There does seem to be a lot of mention of eggs lately. 🤔
  12. I feel the same about my cruises on Allure in 2022. However, there were definite food quality issues last January that seemed to have resolved by April.
  13. Just like it never entered Lee's mind that Brian could have an infection in his leg. They lie to cover their own screw ups but demand so much more of their crew.
  14. As anyone who's ever been stuck in the mud in Alabama knows you step on the gas one tire spins, the other tire does nothing....
  15. I enjoy sitting out on the balcony with something to snack on and a drink. The gross part will be once a day cabin service where the dirty stuff does not get removed.
  16. I can't do a dry January as I have to be in shape for my upcoming cruise but I have been known to go dry for Lent.
  17. I did not know this. It worked a few months ago when I tried.
