Yes. There was a Captain transfer.
John,
Interest we had US Air Force jets buzz us this morning.
Used us as practice target w Captain Hall approval.
Several passes around the ship. One broke the sound barriers and what sound.
Cause a stir with those on board but nothing to me. We have had that several trips off Norfolk in the past.
But others scared.
Will start movement at 1PM at 11 knots. Arriving in NYC around Midnight due to tides.
Yes, a different type of trip we are experiencing.
But will miss her till 2025. Land lovers in 2024.
Keep an eye on us.

One of my comfort films. Hope you enjoyed your day.
Having been lucky enough to attend a 4th July Boston Pops evening, I know how special it is so such a shame for the weather to have played awkward and the streaming to have been so choppy.
In RCT streaming on LED screen was prefect.

We were fitted as Diamond

How were the Boston fireworks? Did weather allow a show?
Ok but low ceiling and smoke. No wind to clear smoke.
Showed Boston's Pop on LED Screen in RCT. Very very crowded and some walked away.

You guys are on the Voyage of the Damned! It’s warm and still in southern New England now. There has to be something more than weather.
Unfortunately we will be at sea till we aim for NY along the LI coast. Be interesting to watch our movement.

As of 6PM on Board...
Captain Hall announced that QM2 will not be calling on Newport Rhode Island due to weather conditions and Operational considerations relayed to Tender Operations.
We will remain At Sea.
He regrets this announcement and ask all to understand the safety factors to the QM2, Passengers and Crew.

How does the Veranda compare to say a Smith & Wollensky's?
IMHO.....
There is a mark difference in all steakhouses.
Where they source their protein makes a difference. Who the buyer is. Their experience in rating the protein they are selecting.
Cunard has to reply on their buyer and source.

John,
As of this mornings Daily Program Live On Board QM2.

Oh good. It sounds like they extended your stay an hour to make up for the hour late arrival this morning. At least the itineraries I have indicated a scheduled 8:00am arrival and 8:00pm departure. But then maybe the plan was for a 9:00am to 9:00pm call all along.
Many sites showed 8 to 8.....

QM2 currently docked in Halifax since 9AM.
This is the current weather we've been
seeing since arriving outside of the harbor.
This is the opposite view of bluemarble's picture from our balcony on board facing the Westin Nova Scotian Hotel at this time.
It was to burn off the afternoon but it didn't.

Thanks for the info. I like wearing them when barefoot in the cabin.
They supplied the robe with the logo.
But the slippers do not have the the Cunard Logo on as in the past.
We are currently on board wearing these slippers.

The estimated 3:00pm arrival time today is looking like a pretty good estimate at this point. If that is the case, I'll be interested to see if they can manage to cut two hours off the usual turn-around time and turn that 8 hour arrival delay into only a 6 hour departure delay for an 11:00pm departure.
John,
Getting information from on board so working with their data. One on board heard some one in an elevator saying a friend got an after 9 or more changed boarding time, So don't know if they are going down to the line.
I see her off of LI - Patchogue going 22.8
We'll Post When She Drops Line and for the Bridge.

Plus, all drinks packages have been extended for the rest of the day...
Pool party starts at 12:30. Our debarkation is at 5:30, lots of staggering times of leaving ship.
No news onboard about condition of the crew member, hoping that no news is good news.
Good luck to all of us today!!
Hi John,
Enjoy the Pool Party.....Have A Mai Tai on me...lol
See you're off the Hamptons
Later in the day should be interesting at BCT...Not coming will 615-630..

Ah, yes. Quite right. QM2 is of course going to be off on her Independence Day Celebration cruise, not a crossing back to Southampton quite yet. It's ironic that her first port of call will be Halifax.
As originally scheduled, QM2 would have 38 hours to make that roughly 600NM distance, at an average speed of about 16 knots. If we assume she will have a shortened 30 hours available now, that can be accomplished at an average speed of about 20 knots. That's obviously well within QM2's capabilities.
Yes....
Expected arrival - at best 3PM (off the Hamptons Now), Come 6 hours from what the Doc Boarding Pass Time says, All A Boarding - 10PM and expected sailing - 11PM..
Should be an interesting day to be at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal day......We're Prepared and Ready.
They will get a chance to visit their Crew Mate in Halifax......
