  1. I find these especially interesting since I never sailed Harmony until 2004. Roy
  2. Today's sunrise is from something that's a bit unusual for me. My late brother was in the Navy on a Submarine stationed in Charleston and in 2014 he asked me to join me at a reunion of the Haddo crew. I noticed that my very first cruise ship, Carnival Fantasy, was then sailing out of Charleston and booked a short cruise just before the reunion. September 15, 2014 was a sea day from Charleston to Freeport. Roy

  4. Happy Friday. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie. @Lady Hudson enjoy you're island visit today.. I'll pass on making a hat but celebrate caregivers and Greenpeace. I've been to Lautoka at least twice, always on Crystal. This would have been a sad day in Spain back in 1821. I like the Lin quote but will pass on the chowder. Off soon to Wegmans. Roy
  5. Update for September 14 A good night last night and a VERY good day today. I did 3 temperature checks, all below 98.0F. The REALLY good news was that I had a negative Covid test this morning. I left the house 3 times, first a partial walk around the block visiting my mailbox. At noon I made a run to the UPS store and picked up a week’s worth of mail and continued to the grocery for a curbside pickup. Finally in the early evening I took my trash out to the curb for tomorrow’s pickup. The sore thrroat was not an issue today. Other than that just a couple of brief sweat episodes. Still tired and lethargic but otherwise feeling ok. I think even without the negative test I was eligible to be in public today with a mask. I believe that If I’m negative again Saturday I will be ok even without a mask but I will be more conservative than that. I will still worship from home this week. I have a cruise coming up September 29 but if I am to go I must take a large bag to be shipped to the ship on September 20 so I will need to make a hard decision on going or not by then. This will be my final update unless things change. Roy
  6. Today's sunrise is another from my 2012 Crystal Symphony Transatlantic. It was a sea day from Reykjavik to New York, much delayed by storms. Most of the outdoor space was closed but I did get out on the back deck briefly: Roy

  8. And she's gone. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, Carole, and Suzy. Roy
  9. Saw her briefly before the camera panned away. Is this the last Thursday of the season? Roy
  10. Happy Friday Eve. Thank You Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie. I'll pass on the Crabs and Cream Filled donuts but celebrate Quiet, Computers, and the Georgrrian Calendar. I've been to Road Town twice, Blount's Grande Caribe in 2008 and Prinsendam in 2013: @Denise T I watched a wrapup of the capture on this morning's news and the caption on the reporter was Pottstown. I'm sure you must be especially relieved that it's over. I'll pass on the ratatouille. Bon Voyage @Heartgrove @Mr. Boston and @Lady Hudson, Finally some good news. 75.0 this morning followed by a negative home test. Roy
  11. Update for September 13 A good night last night and a good day today. I did not leave my street but took a couple of brief walks. About 7 I walked my recycling cart out to the street and took a walk around half my block. I went back out at 2 and walked the other half as well as bringing the recycling cart home. I did 2 temperature checks, 96.6 in the morning and 97.9 before dinner. The sore thrroat was not an issue today. Other than that just a couple of brief sweat episodes. I finished the Lagevrio this evening. Yesterday’s bowel issues are also gone.. I will continue to test alternate days including Thursday. I think I misread the quarantine criteria and in most cases can be in public after 5 days (now) with a mask and after 10 days do not need the mask unless I test positive or symptoms come back. I will not be that bold for a couple more days but I think I’m pretty well recovered. Still quite short on energy. Roy
  12. That's now 3 of the 4 S Sisters. Statendam is now sailing as Vasco da Gamma for German Nekko Cruises. Maasdam is now MS Renaissance for French startup Renaissance cruises. And now Ryndam Only Veendam is left. She is allegedly due to return to service December 1 as Victoria Majestic for Victoria Cruises, running as a residential ship. I haven't seen any actual evidence of progress yet. https://victoria.cruises/about/cruises/ Roy
  13. Hurricane Lee certainly looks like a concern. I have a friend boarding Jewel of the Seas tomorrow for a cruise from Bayonne to Halifax and Greenland. Instead, tomorrow they sail all the way to Manhattan for a night or 2 and then skip Halifax and go straight to Greenland. Strange things happen in Hurricane Season. Roy
  14. I think that's it for me today. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, Carole, and Suzy. Noordam tomorrow. Roy
