  1. Today's sunrise is from a 2017 Crystal Serenity World Cruise segment. On March 7 we visited Punta del Esta, Uruguay: Roy

  3. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. Three great days to celebrate. The EE Cummings quote strikes me as a bit strange. I have been to Walvis Bay in Numibia but not to Luderitz. Two great days in history today but now about 99% of the phone calls I get are robocall hangups, and I rarely answer the phone unless there is a voicemail. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Chilled Blueberry Soup, Broiled New York Striploin, and Raspberry and Almond Tart as served on MS Prinsendam March 7, 2019: Had a decent walk but the ground is still pretty saturated from recent rains. Roy
  4. Speaking of laundry, HAL has very attractive options for those who are not yet 4-star. When you get to your cabin you will find a blue fabric bag with a drawstring and a price list. By the piece I think the prices are very reasonable but there are 2 other options. You can get unlimited for about $10 per day (and I think that's for the cabin, not per person), and you can also fill the bag and send it out for a flat fee, I think about $30. You can put anything washable in the bag (not just underwear) and and it holds probably 2-3 times as much as the paper bag Royal uses. They do a great job and you can send a bag out any day (including the first night) and turnaround is usually not over 30 hours, sometimes back the same day. Roy
  5. Mine has 2 meanings, Red or King. I prefer King. Elliott Rose is a beauty now. Roy
  6. If so, the prohibition appears to come from Seattle and not Port Everglades. Other ships are tooting. Roy
  7. Nice camera work but still no toots!!!!!!. Thanks Leanne, Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
  8. Alternative maps got a bit more complicated than I thought but here's my best try for today: Roy
  9. Today's sunrise is sort of from my 2016 Crystal Symphony Antarctica cruise. It was taken from Miami before boarding Amtrak's Silver Meteor going home: Roy

  11. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Ann, Dixie, and Debbie for the Hump Day report. Three good days to celebrate today. I like the quote today. Loss of the Alamo was a temporary setback but I'll gladly celebrate the periodic table and aspirin. I've visited Hilo twice, 1992 on a land trip and 2010 on Crystal Serenity, ironically the site of my sunrise yesterday. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Chilled Watermelon Gazpacho,Filet Mignon, and Apple Strudel as served on MS Prinsendam March 6, 2019: Roy
  12. Quick question, is it still open bridge except when pilots are on board? Roy
  13. No blocker so a good chance of an on time departure. Roy
  14. I suspect most of the "hidden" outlets are on the older ships and used when the ship was new but served things like TV's that were moved to new locations, or were duplex outlets what only were connected to one appliance. Roy
  15. Today's sunrise is from a 2010 Crystal Symphony trans-Pacific. On March 5 we visited Hilo .Roy

  17. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Dixie, Debbie, and Ann. I'll pass on the Absinthe, would enjoy a cheese doodle, and wish for progress on Identity disorder. Happy Birthday Steve, wishing a peaceful wait for the rainbow bridge for Sam, and wish Chuck a successful surgery. May Wayne be safely back home soon and quick relief from pain for Nancy. Interesting quote by Cunningham that does not sound practical. I have not been to today's port. Two monumental days in history. The meal sounds interesting. My alternative is Strawberry Bisque(MDR), Grilled Colorado Lambchops with spiced apple chutney, fresh mint sauce, and Not So Classic Baked Alaska as served in MS Prinsendam's Pinnacle Grill March 5, 2019. HAL had phased out chilled coups by then with a brief comeback for the grand voyage. I saw it on the menu and asked the Pinnacle hose if I could delay my reservation to get the appetizer in the dining room but the response was "We can serve you that here". As we started the Amazon part of the voyage the Penguins had been replaced by monkeys and they were decked out for Mardi Gras: A wet morning to start my errands today. Roy
  18. Well, Oncologist visit was totally routine. He was pleased with my PSA numbers and no changes planned. Roy
