  1. We got off Symphony on Sunday. Iskate 2.0 was shown twice on the last day. I went to the earlier show and there were still spare seats. I got there about 20 minutes before show time and had my pick of front row seats. Corinna
  2. Thanks for this. We occasionally had to pay a Dollar or two extra for a glass of wine if it went over the allowance. However, there were alternatives available that would have been included. Corinna
  3. Does anybody have any firsthand experience on how the diamond vouchers work on cruises from Australia? We are sailing on Ovation in February and I just had a look at the drinks menus. I noticed that all cocktails are $15. As per the rules, the vouchers cover drinks up to $14. Are they actually charging the additional $1 per drink? I am absolutely fine if they do, but I am just curious what to expect. Corinna
  4. Mike Hunnerup is definitely on Odyssey so no idea who is this on Quantum now. Corinna
  5. i have heard from recent cruisers that Mike Hunnerup is now on Odyssey. I can confirm later today as we are getting on Odyssey this morning. Corinna
  6. By October 13th, we will have been and gone. We arrive in Haifa on October 10th. The cruise leaves on Friday. Corinna
  7. There are already 7 LNG-powered ships in operation, which are mainly operated by the Carnival corporation. Disney Cruise Line also operates a LNG-powered ship. The first LNG-powered cruise ship (AIDAnova) went into service in 2018. This is not a new technology. Corinna
  8. Thanks for sharing. We are doing a Holy Land cruise on Odyssey in 2.5 weeks time. How many formal nights did you have? Corinna
  9. I would not mind at all if I got my block for a different ship. I will “earn” my first block on Odyssey next month. Next cruise after this is on Ovation. Ovation is my special ship. I would rather have Ovation block than an Odyssey one. Of course, this almost guarantees that I will get my first block on Odyssey? Corinna
  10. i had read a while ago that he was behind the scenes as second cruise director on Wonder dealing with the admin aspect of the job. This was back in May. Corinna
  11. I have had proper ice cream in the Windjammer on both Ovation and Quantum in May, but it was only available at dinner. Flavours were limited to the generic flavours you mentioned and then one flavour of the day. I loved the salted caramel. Corinna
  12. I have no insider knowledge, but historically Joff has been U.K. based in the summer and Australia based in winter. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he may be on Ovation in February. Corinna
  13. I wonder who we end up with on Odyssey in October now. It should have been Mitch. Corinna
  14. We did both in a similar time frame this year with a weekend in Seattle in the middle. We loved both, but for us Quantum had a slight edge. We went to Icy Strait Point and having the extra port day definitely was a bonus. Next time, we would definitely love to visit Sitka. Having a proper port day at Victoria on Ovation was nice. We took the public bus to Butchard Gardens, which was amazing and still had time to do a little sightseeing in Victoria. Corinna
  15. He kept a low profile on our cruise as well. I saw him once in the solarium passing through when we were docked at Icy Strait Point. Corinna
  16. We just got back from sailing both Ovation and Quantum and used Seattle Express from our airport hotel to the port and then back from the port to the airport. They were great. Corinna
  17. We got off Quantum on Monday and the captain was Krzyszthof Szymkarczuk.
