  1. Actually, no one made me open the bag. They just took the extension cord from the CPAP carry bag and I got it back at the end of the cruise. This actually went against their written policy at the time. However, Carnival did provide an extension cord. My point is that the policy should be clear and consistent. After all, CPAP has been around for years.
  2. Relying on the cruise lines for CPAP supplies is a crap shoot. I was promised the same when I sailed on Anthem of the Seas and neither was in the cabin when I boarded. It was late evening before I was able to obtain what I needed. On Carnival, a call to Room Service has resulted in delivery of distilled water within 5 minutes. Of course, Carnival has confiscated my extension cord once, so you never know! I bring my own cord and order the water from Room Service and haven't had a problem for years. I do wonder why the lines have so much trouble establishing and following one procedure for CPAPs.
  3. This worked for me. 1. Delete the app. 2. Download the app. 3. Click yes that you want to recover your account. 4. Take your picture, resubmit your vaccine proof. 5. You will then see the testing requirement is gone. I did this today and now we have our pass. Good Luck!
  4. This is a good question. I only wish I had a good answer. I'm having the same issue. I contacted Verifly Help and was told to either check to see I had the latest version of the app, wait and see if it cleared up, or delete and reinstall the app which would require resubmitting all info. Not very helpful. They couldn't even tell me what the latest version of the app was. Too bad they couldn't just release an update that incorporated the new rules.
  5. I contacted them and they were also of no help. That is why I posted the question here. I thought maybe someone else was experiencing the same concern and would have a workaround. No luck yet. I think it may become a widespread issue when more people try to use Veifly to board, and the app still requires a negative test when the cruise line does not.
  6. I understand where you were coming from and appreciate your helpful response! Although things are getting somewhat simpler, there are still changes and complications to overcome! I didn't see any of our ports that required a test for vaccinated travelers, currently. I also found this on the US Embassy in Panama website: Effective August 31, 2021, travelers arriving in Panama who present a digital or physical full COVID Vaccination Certificate, showing that they received all required doses of a COVID vaccine approved by the WHO, FDA or EMA at least 14 days prior to their entry, are exempt from all testing and quarantine requirements to enter Panama. I just want to get aboard as quickly and easily as I can.
  7. My question stems from the change in testing requirements. Holland America has this on their website effective September 1: Vaccinations are not required on most voyages. Vaccinated guests will no longer have to test before boarding and only need to show proof of vaccination. Unvaccinated guests are welcome aboard with a self-administered COVID-19 test taken within 3 days of embarkation. But Verifly won't give me the "all clear" without a negative test result. If I need to update the app, I'd like to know how to do that. I have not cruised on HAL since the pandemic began, but I'm looking!. I know there are many well informed and reasonable travelers on this forum.
  8. My Verifly app today still shows I need to submit a negative test, even though a test is not needed for the cruise I am going on later this month. I would have thought the app would update and be taking the new requirements into account. It didn't. I can't find an update function and the App Store does not show an update. I could go the paper route (and will certainly have that as a back-up), but I wanted to try the new way this time. Does anyone know how to update the app? Thanks!
  9. Has VeriFly been updated before when rules changed? If so, did the app retain the information that was previously entered? I'm hoping there will be an update to the app on September 6 and all my information will still be there after I update!
  10. I did not have that problem. Did you hit the "Accept Photo" button?
  11. When we cruised in March there was a long line outside the terminal building. A worker was going around asking if anyone had VeriFly, so I assume that would allow faster check-in. We used paper and it worked. Will be trying VeriFly in September.
  12. Your post brought back great memories. I took my wife and three children on a Windjammer Barefoot Cruise in 2006. It was roundtrip from Miami and was a bargain. It was the best cruise I've ever been on! It left at night because passengers could not get to the ship- there was a parade for the Miami Heat winning the NBA championship- so the ship just waited. 100 passengers, wonderful crew, good food, great fun, deserted islands. When the Captain opened the pool, it meant a rope swing into the open ocean. We could sleep under the stars on the open deck, help raise the sails. I'm sorry you never got the chance to go. We only went on one. By the time we could book another, they were going bankrupt. But the memory of that adventure stays with me.
