  1. I've been reading Anthem reviews recently. Most are 4-5 starts with an occasional lower score which seems to be focused on the MDR food (seems to be the trend on most cruise lines these days where there is specialty dining) or on specific incidences that are unique to that cruiser. I'm not seeing a majority of lackluster reviews. Am I missing something? My husband and I are booking Anthem very soon.

  2. Need a little help please.

We want to do a 7 night New England/Cananda cruise (DH and me). It'll be 6/2018. RCCL Adventure of theSeas (less expensive, departs out of NJ, pretty dated shipped even after refurbishment) OR NCL Gem (more expensive, departs out of NYC, seems a bit nicer). Port heavy cruise---4 ports, 2 seas days. 11th cruise--sailed on RCCL, NCL (just off Escape), HAL, Carnival, Celebrity.

3,2,1........GO!!!!!! (Thanks, in advance, for your honest opinions)

  4. Yes! This was a fabulous trip! I should know! I am your wife!

BTW--Best excursion EVER---Jost Van Dyke!! 45 minutes beautiful boat ride there and back! White powder sand beach, lots of yachts to drool over, total of 5 kids (I love kids! I'm a teacher! Nice to get a break every now and then!). Sandy Dollar Bar--home of the original painkiller! YUM!

    Amazing cruise! Loved it!

  5. 1. Can you pre-purchase or purchase onboard cases of water for your cabin (to be delivered to your cabin)? Did this on Princess---very convenient!

    2. Is there express checkout where you pay extra to have your bags picked up at your room the night before debarkation and they are transported to your home airport waiting for you upon your arrival? We've done this on RCCL and Princess---amazing!

  6. If it's only the two of us, my husband and I typically each bring a big giant duffle bag on wheels (checked luggage with most of our clothes and liquids), one overnight carry-on that we share (electronics and important documentation that stays with us on the plane), a garment bag that we share if we are bringing formal clothes (great for shoes and other things since there are many small compartments in ours), and a backpack (more electronics my personal items).

  7. Lots of Youtube videos and reviews on CC as well as although it's in Europe right now so the excursions and other info might not apply to where you are going. It's fun to read about the ship, see pics, and videos of her. See sail 4/2107.

  8. We've sailed small and large. It all comes down to price, availability, what we're in the mood for.....There are pro and cons of all ships, wouldn't you say? We always come home feeling satisfied and reflect on the good and maybe the not so good. We remind ourselves of our good fortune to be able to vacation and are grateful to be able to get away from our busy lives. Whether you prefer big or small is your opinion which should be respected, correct? Different ships, different cruise lines, different itineraries,......do your research, make an informed decision, and most of all enjoy your vacation. Switch is up, keep it fresh and new (and sometimes stick with the old), variety is the spice of life. :)

  9. I totally get your question!!! Although I don't know the gym times on Carnival I can share that I went on a Regal Princess cruise in April with a 10k to run the following weekend. No way was I taking off the last hard week of training before taper week. I did 2 interval runs, one tempo run, and one long run. It was totally worth keeping up, as you know how quickly you can lose what you built in running! If you're a runner, you know this! Cross training is great, but race training follows a very specific plan that cannot easily be tampered with. Happy cruising, happy training, and best of luck on your marathon!!!

  10. We're going on April 8th! Spring Break! Just my husband and me. Went on Regal Princess this past Spring Break with my teenage daughter and friend. Not a lot of kids on Princess even during Spring Break. I'm sure there will be LOTS of families on Carnival, but with all the 'kid things to do' I bet it'll be fine. We went on Oasis of the Seas in July when all the kids were out of school and it wasn't bad at all. Another good thing is I somehow managed to convince my husband to book a suite! We're excited about that! Haven't been in a suite in a long time!
