  1. I don't think prices ever stay the same throughout the year. Where are you? There are some good deals at the moment here in th UK. I booked Solstice April 2018 about two months ago and now the cabin price is £400 cheaper. Should have waited, but benefit of hindsight and all that.

    Phil

We are also UK, looking at the April 18 or 19 or Sept 18

All prices seem high to me when comparing to other celebrity itinaries.

If they can get enough demand to pay the higher prices why not do the runs more often, would it not be more profitable than the caribbean at 599 a week?

Looks like the April 18 guarentee cabins are currently over£2000 pp

  2. Celebrity used to honour the price pledge in the UK, but apparently not now.

Could it be a coincidence that the price reduction equates to the non refundable deposit payable in the UK??

not quite its £700 difference in my case

although we do have $300 obc as well so about £180 with current exchange rate

which is getting better every day at the moment

  3. booked direct.

currently balcony is £700 less than our booking

if we lose the £300 deposit and the $300 OBC it would still be a saving by about £180

aqua is currently around £500 less than our standard balcony

    Its so frustrating,

we did not book early for a cruise this summer , as we were stung the previous year, however the prices kept rising, not falling , so we did not book,

this time we book early and get stung again.

its the dreaded £300 deposit we always lose with UK bookings.

  4. Are you past final payment date and is it an onboard booking?

No we are not past final , that's in October, sail date 16th Dec.

Anyone got any experience with calling up the uk phone line and getting upgraded without losing deposit?

Aqua is £500 less than we are paying for a standard balcony.

Would we lose our OBC , since that is currently not on offer.

I assume they won't allow us to pay less than our invoice without canceling and losing £300

But is it possible to get an upgrade?

  5. Looks like we are going to have to cancel our December caribean cruise, prices have been slashed bt €1000 and includes drinks,

    Balconies £599 Inc drinks

We will lose our £300 deposit but it's going to be worth it

Almost all balconies are the same price,

Does this happen every year, this is our first time in December.

  6. Have taken a med cruise since 2012 until this year, just got back from a land based holiday, the celebritys prices this year were almost double what we paid in 2016 for a similar cruise and time of year, hence we declined.

Someone must be paying and filling the berths, we waited until last minute expecting some bargains but nothing appeared.

We do have a caribean cruise booked in December for an aceptable price,

  7. Also considering thus for 18 or 19, how easy is it to get from the ship to the train in seward, what is the best place to stay in anchorage,

We are from th uk, so will need to plan many different flights and other transport to get this trip done

  8. We have booked the Equinox cruise the week leading upto Christmas eve, have we made a mistake, we have only cruised celebrity, in europe.

Reading threads on here, I'm wondering if this cruise is likely to be a party, booze cruise with a younger croud of friends together in groups. I hope not. Do they normally cruise with RCI?

  9. When we were on The Eclipse in June we asked if they would be showing The Azerbaijan Grand Prix and the answer was no. Enjoy your cruise.

You will however, be able to watch, baseball, basketball or American football on the sports channel :o

Been 3 times in North Sea two fyords and 1 baltic each time it ws a millpond crossing, I think we were lucky,

weather will be similar to Wales, and you could get many seasons in one day

  10. We will be on the Equinox, in December and would like to go on the tour to chicken itza from Cozemel.

Can those who have done this trip specifically with a celebrity tour, comment on the trip to the ruins and the length of time spent at the ruins, we will take tge tour that does not include a lunch stop to hopefully give us more time at the site

Does the tour include free time at the site as well as the guided section.

  11. You can do delos on your own,

    http://www.delostours.gr/en/

Ferry leaves small dock at the end of the town.

If your ship tenders it will drop you near the ferry, otherwise it's a bus or water bus from the dock where the ship ties up.

Get up early as the trips start early and come back early

It will likely be windy and the ferry, small boat, moves around alot, I loved it, just like a roller coaster:D

  12. Well we've boarded twice from Fort Lauderdale and twice from Miami, once from Tampa and 5 times from Port Canaveral.

From kerb to security, to check in, to cabin in Fort Lauderdale took 15 - 20 mins maximum at around 11:00 am. Miami, 30 minutes, again at around 11:00 clear security then check in, the longest in Tampa 45 mins at 10:30 after security scanning and then checking in. Port Canaveral never more than 45 minutes, again at around 10:30 - 11:00, short line for security, then proceed to check in, then join line for boarding.

It's busy but I would never call it chaotic. But then again I don't know what cruise line you are referring to. All of ours above, except 1 were with RCI, but even Carnival at Port Canaveral wasn't busy, nor chaotic and wait time was short.

    Let's take Barcelona or Civitavecchia.

Barcelona - short line to get through security at the terminal entrance, then into the check in hall, 10 - 15 mins max wait, check in, then onto the ship. All by 11 am.

Civitavecchia, best embarkation ever, boarded twice there, walked into the terminal, through the security scanners, no lines at check in, 10 mins and on board!

Southampton - MSC - 15 mins clearing security, then checked in, and on board by 11:30. RCI - clear security, check in, on board by 11:30. P&O, wait for check in, wait for call to security, clear scanners and board ship - 1 hour.

See the pattern? Doing the security scanning first, then check in seems to work better.

So I don't agree that it is crowded and chaotic in the US, Spain nor Italy.

Got to agree, we have similar experience with those ports as well. Either rci or celebrity,

We always self disembark as well, and roll our bags off, at the best time that suits us, never had to wait, no queues etc.

I was even expecting a long wait in Miami last November, but no one at I migration so straight off,

  13. Does the small numbers in the lounge suggest the magority of cruisers are fairly new to cruising?

I cannit remember the numbers from our TA cruises but it must have been hundreds of people, it was unbelievably busy and the bars staff main olive or twist never stopped for 3.5 hours and certainly earned their tips

  14. Since turning Diamond we have only cruised Royal on transatlantic cruises, and hence there are a lot of diamond and obove onboard.

The event on one crossing was in the lounge at tge end if the royal promanade and our last crossing it over pulled into the olive or twist (and it was rammed standing room only)

Are the ever spill overs on other cruises as more people become diamond or do guests have to all fit into the small diamond lounge.

I do like the lively atmosphere we have had on the TA.

Are other cruises a much quieter affair?
