We usually cruise with Royal Caribbean or Celebrity , but their itineraries and ports are getting quite limited, and we need a change,
do NCL play the same games regarding pricing as Royal and celebrity,
i.e
sudden price drops etc, is it worth waiting
I'm from the UK and cannot take advantage of price drops, without cancelling and losing cabin and deposit
also do NCL have any loyalty match schemes ?

We wish!
Princess sure isn't losing money on Mexico, Hawaii, and Alaska itineraries out of LA and SF with ships built almost 20 years ago.
was only looking last night at those itinaries, just wished we lived closer to the departure ports:loudcry:
and had more time to take them back to back.
would love to sail from say LA all the way up to Seward and back ( stopping at different ports each way)
The lines must lose passengers by repeating the same ports week after week so passengers cannot do B2B with different ports

Oasis VIII may go out of LA
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app
Surely Oasis I to X would be better suited to cruises from Miami to no where and back :D
-
For some of us those same ports/itineraries have been very boring for years. Now enjoy the ship instead of the ports. How many times can one enjoy Nassau or Cozumel?
Being from the UK, this might be a silly question, but it would interest me,
Why don't the ships also visit the southern US states and ports, as well as a stop in Mexico to qualify for out of US cruise,
Eg, new Orleans, Texas ports, etc. That are based in florida

Last year we arrived around 3pm in Miami ( from UK) then picked up car hire ( Mustang convertible- the only way to drive the keys) drove down to Key largo
stayed two nights ( hotel next to the African Queen)
Drove down to key west
stayed two nights, loved the sun set at the top end of Duval street with the live music and bars
drove back up to fort lauderdale and stayed over night close to the port for our cruise back to the Uk on 1st May 2016
its a long drive back form Key west since the speed limits are low.
-
Budget have a downtown location in Miami that offers a free shuttle to the port, we have used it the other way around ( arrive in port and take free shuttle to the car hire)
Hire car in Fort lauderdale use the included transponder, shuttle your friends to the port next day drop off bags, then return the car to the downtown location and use thier free shuttle.
We will do this for our cruise out of Miami next December. although we will stay over night on the out skirts to get free parking at the hotel.
for us we will get the cheapest car hire for one day as there are only two of us

I thought that coke was only available with the premium package, and it was only fountain sodas on the classic
this is Celebrity :D not Royal Caribbean ;)
real cans of coke, large waters and coffees and teas on the classic package
one of the reasons we like Celebrity

Provence is not a port, it's a region do you mean marseille?
For me nice or Villefrance us preferable over cannes,
It's closer to monaco only a short train ride away, and a few euro

Thanks. Don't know if my wife can handle 10 drinks in 3-4 days :D
3 for her and 7 for you:evilsmile:
-
@$89
unless you drink exclusively $12 drinks its probably not worth it and buying as you go would be better
if half the drinks were beer say
or use the card for the £12 drinks ( shared) and pay as you go for beer/ fountain etc.
-
I assume these cards are shareable
Hope they are still available on the TA in a few weeks time
Need to fill the gaps between diamond happy hours

Blown away by some of these numbers! How can that be???!!
in my case UK job,
50 days annual leave
usually 2 , 14 day cruises and 2 skiing trips

There are many threads on this topic.
Yes, people book in different countries all time. Personally, I abhor the booking regulations and limitations in the U.K. and direct most of my business to the states. I recently went against my better judgment and booked a cruise in the U.K. as the rates were competitive at the time. That cruise is now going to cost me about £600 more for the privilege of supporting my local economy.
I know what you mean, not being able to take advantage of price drops in the uk
Booking early is getting more risky these days, as the prices are so high, I know they will drop,
We are starting to think of last minute bookings for future cruises
I'm amazed people are booking European cruises at the moment.
A similar cruise to what we did last year on celebrity for 2200 is currently showing at over 4000,
No way unless the prices fall
-
You should be asking number of days , since cruises are of many different lengths,
Eg lots of 4 to 5 dayers out of florida,
All of our cruises have been 11 to 15 nighters
Last year we did 3 cruises
13 night TA east bound
11 night med
13 night TA west bound

How about this theory
Bad tippers get extra charge from room steward?
I need to go back through my cc statements, I seem to remember a small addition to our November cruise, that we let go,
I bet it was a charge for water we never used. We had a package
I wish they would remove the water, it gets in the way ,
Maybe every one should also email the head of royal caribbean (seen email a dress given out on here) every time they are charged

Just checked Indy TA on royal Caribbean U.K. Site and it's from £975 pp for inside all others showing sold out!
Sent from my iPad using Forums
Just checked again, for the night TA on 13th April to southampton is showing the 499 each for inside or 699 for balcony, loads of cabins available,

Has anything changed regarding Car rental in florida?
I'm pricing rentals from miami international for a few pre cruise days and the prices seem to have almost doubled since i booked , april last year and also november last year.
Have rules changed?
-
How does uber work, do you pre pay?
Is a tip required
How safe is it?
-
Depends where you come from, If you live in Arizona it will be cold!!!!, if you live in the UK it will be cool :D
Last November we did the southampton to Boston, NY to Miami route
We had a couple of mildley rough seas, Nothing to bother is, and a few sunny days, where we were able to sun bath on the balcony ( that was a surprise)
Getting to NY it was warm enough to not need a coat, even at the top of empire state building at night.
The most rough night was after leaving NY on the way to Florida, but we were asleep so did not notice just found the balcony a mess the next day. some passengers reported feeling rough all night but not us.
I think it is all down to luck
it can be mill pond fat ( it was some days) or rough others
We have crossed the north sea to Norway a few times and its always been flat ( in June) whereas others have reported very rough seas on thier sailing

train from airport to downtown, approx $2
free trolley to port
-
No perks on this year's TA unless booked early about 12 months out, I think they stopped around August last year,
Currently prices are so good, buying a package is still a good total price
-
Checkout the 15 night indy TA, Currently £499 each for inside, or £699 for balcony
I'm looking at allure near Christmas , Currently uk pricing is £749 each for balcony, checked US Web site, balconies going for $3700 for two
So for these cruuses the uk prices are good,
-
I assume g is closest to the bridge and hence the trolley stop
-
Went to make final payment tonight and found the cruise price has dropped , a lot.
I need to pay by 15th,
I booked in U K so I expect I won't get the price drop,
I missed the office opening time tonight so need to ring tomorrow.
If I cancel we only paid the low deposit 25 each, is this all I should lose
Would I be able to keep my room if I cancel and rebook at the better price, I already missed the OBC which finished tonight:mad:
We booked a guarentee and we're assigned a good room, better than those currently available
Advise on how best to talk to the customer service please, never had to do this before , as in the uk we don't usually get price drops without losing £300

Can you explain.
They charge 18% of the free drinks package and it comes out at $14 pppd?
We are in the UK, and i don't see anything about service charge being added in the small print. for uk purchasers is it included in teh package,
or are you talking about buying the package, which i can then understand it gets an 18% added.
same with the dinning promo, does that require a service charge when given as a free promo?
