Hello, we are doing a Christmas Cruise on the Azura from Tenerife . We are not familiar with the ship ... we have have Freedom Dining .
Is there a particular dining room that is a favourite with all you P&O long time cruisers ?
Any tips for having an excellent cruise ? ..thanks for any advice.

Looking at some of the prices on upcoming cruises eg.. 11 day cruise £450...looks like customers are leaving NCL in their droves...things like the VAT thing does leave a sour taste in some peoples mouths.
Come on tell us where and which 🚢 ship ....thanks

Because then you'd have people complaining about having to pay VAT on drinks they hadn't planned on consuming at all. It's kind of a no-win situation, frankly. Maybe NCL should create an ombudsman-type of board made up of loyal cruisers. A lot people on here have creative ideas on how the cruise line could improve, so maybe it's worth considering? I don't know. I'm just glad our next cruise isn't stopping in Spain, that's for sure!
It will be the Greek Islands the next time for us .Going on the Gem next month ...starting in Spain and visiting Spanish ports .

I am from Germany and my opinion is the same as yours. We are booked on a Med cruise with Norwegian Dawn in November (doesn't include NON-EU-Ports) and Norwegian told me yesterday (after final payment) that we have to pay Spanish VAT on every single drink and for every meal covered by free at sea package for the whole cruise. I always thought if I book my cruise and my free at sea package in advance with their German website, the tax is included in the final price.
It's not the few dollars I now have to pay extra, it's the way NCL communicates this. No word about that, before booking this cruise. Why don't you take a few dollars more for the cruise and include the VAT as every other cruise line does? I am a very loyal costumer and cruised a lot with NCL in the past (and I will do in the future), but this really frustrates me and I don't think this is the right way to treat loyal costumers.
Just my two cents...
I always thought if I book my cruise and my free at sea package in advance with their German website, the tax is included in the final price.
Yes, ...booked through the UK website I thought I had paid all taxes in the pre paid price . BUT NO says NCL . How is this tax collected and paid to Spain ? ... on a full cruise it must be a lot of euros .
Where is this shown in any of NCLs accounts per cruise ? Is it ALL cruise, Princess, MSC, Fred Olsen, P &O ..cannot get any answers .

Thanks ...we have booked 510. ....looking forward to a great cruise

Thanks, Deb .. phoning America and explaining the problem would be a costly phone call ...and a letter would take some time . Perhaps I'll hand it over to ABTA ..Association of British Travel Agencies for help . NCL are members.

Did you mean to say "you do get noise from loose items"?

I’m guessing your web browser is redirecting you to the UK site. If you let me know what you need help with I’ll see if I can find the email address for you.
That must be the reason ... it's regarding a refund that Southampton are reluctant to authorise . I'm now going to try dealing with Miami ...thanks

Both have same phone number 0333 2412319.
Thanks, but I need an email address

Thanks, everyone ...we are booked .

On Azura the lifeboats are underneath Deck D and do not restrict the view out or down to the sea.
We are looking to book D deck ..midshipman port side if available..thanks

Leaving the door open is not a good idea as it affects the air con / heating in a number of cabins on either side. P&O ask you not to do this.
Thanks Dai ..First time on.P&0 so I will definitely close it ...thanks

Many a true word spoke in jest.
The main meal for the day Christmas diner is served at diner time (evening) a fact that disappoints some.
It will be a gorgeous meal whatever time we have it !!

No noise from lifeboats. But if you’re worried keep the door closed and that way you won’t disrupt everyone else’s air conditioning.
Hi, thought you could close the aircon off in the cabin
-
Thanks ...still hoping someone will answer the question about any problems with the lifeboats just below deck 9 - any movement noise when the ship is moving at night ...we like to leave the balcony door open ,

we go on Azura in October. At the moment our cruise personaliser says "coming soon" for booking Epicurian, Beach House & Sindhu in advance. I've read elsewhere that it will open up 2 weeks before we go.
I don't think the app is currently used on Azura for booking restaurants, just the pager if needed. And, no you can't swap around between Freedom and fixed. You could eat in the buffet of course. We're on Freedom for the first time, so we'll see how that goes!
Thanks for the information .the cruise is "at sea" on Christmas Day/ New Years Eve ...not sure how that will be for "freedom dining" passengers . We hope to get this booked today . ...see availabilty of cabins
-
Thanks Clodia..
There's no availability for midships on the dates we want ..deck 9 is available
OK the deck is overlooked but I don't think it will bother us too much .
DH says he likes the bigger cabin ! !
