  1. Hello di Ti, I have sent both copies of the flights ..and received the reply and the offer of £50 as a good will gesture. I have resubmitted and will see what the reply is from NCL UK . Would you be happy to say what Miami eventually offer when you receive a reply ?
  2. What if you had chosen a Hawaiian cruise expect NCL to cover the cost for those flights? No I would not ... but some how it seems that NCL can cancel a cruise and not have any responsibility when a client has lost money .
  3. When we were informed that the Epic had been cancelled we were well inside the final payment so had just paid our deposit using a Cruise Next certificate but had booked our flights independently. We booked our Gem cruise transferring the CN certificate. I had hoped that NCL would give us a proportion of the losses (change fees) on the Epic airfare to the Gem airfare Probably asking too much ..but we are "out of pocket" through no faut of our own .
  4. Thanks , I'm unsure what I can claim . I know it will not be the flights that I lost when the Epic was cancelled because I was able to transfer that money (with penalty) to another flight with the Gem cruise. It's just that those flights cost a lot more and I had to pay a penalty . NCL seem to think that there is no recourse when they cancel and just expect us to lose money
  5. Thanks, all my communication has been by email.. always polite not demanding. First reply requested I send copies of the flights booked ..which I did . The flights from the cancelled Epic cruise and the more expensive Gem flights . I had hoped to claim the difference . NCL came back with an offer of £50 ... £25 per person (65 US dollars in total) . I replied and asked for this to be accelerated to a senior member of the team EU Guest Services <euguestservices@ncl.com>. The reply back was from the same Guest Experience Coordindator. Once again asking for the copies of the flights ...and stating that the £50 was a good will gesture !!. Some experience !!!
  6. That's very fortunate..unfortunately I am having quite a battle with NCL ..even though I booked another 🛳 cruise .
  7. Hello, back on this topic ...how did refunds/transfers work out for GLYNAGP, Inside Cabin and Di Ti. ? Our flights for our Epic cruise cancelled by NCL Manchester - Venice / Lisbon - Manchester cost £394.27 ..great prices as we booked early and December/ January flights were cheap. Re booked (loss of £100 for transfer) .. new flights for NCL Gem cruise.£1081.94 .. September prices ..much higher...also flights from Rome are expensive. Made a claim to NCL as it was NCL that cancelled . Offer from NCL ... £50 ...that's £25 each .... and at this moment that is all they are offering . Any advice on what to do to get them to up our claim ? ,,,thanks
  8. Thanks for that information and the photos .
  9. Reading reviews of the Prima on CC it's a bit like the Epic - you love her or hate her. We will look at available cabins on the Viva for next year and hope the problems with cabin noise and walls creaking will have ben resolved.
  10. We had many a fabulous cruise on the Spirit .
  11. Jim, we are not pool people on land or sea !!! . We love port intensive cruises. Looking to book the Viva 2024 with a cabin between accommodation decks .
  12. Thanks, yes ... I should have typed the Prima !!!
  13. Hi debenson0723 did you chose your deck from your experience on the Viva ? thanks
  14. Thanks everyone for your very informative replies. Looking at the photos of the Viva - some balcony cabins must be very very close to the slide. So perhaps looking for a forward cabin. On deck 14 forward of the Haven private elevators there is an open are - could this be staff stairs etc Deck 13 directly below are cabins .
  15. Thanks for that - something I never considered. We had our Christmas/New Year cruise on the Epic cancelled by NCL - now that is a ship with a poor design !!
  16. Thanks for your reply . We have never been on one of the "big" NCL ships - so never gave the slides a thought . We prefer mid ships so will have to go higher and also we want to be between decks . We will be on the Gem this Autumn (Fall) so the Viva will be a BIG change. Haven't booked yet still in the planning stages . thanks
  17. Fabulous looking ship .....any thoughts on best deck with a midships balcony cabin . On the Viva is there much difference between a balcony cabin or a club balcony cabin ... we are Platinum Latitudes . thanks
  18. Thanks everyone for your kind advice ..this has gone to "resolutions" department of NCL .
  19. Thanks, I phoned NCL to cancel the cruise and transfer my £200 deposit to the new cruise . They said that I would lose the £200 I had paid (which I did) and then had to pay £200 deposit on the cruise I had just booked (if that makes sense) Going to contact NCL as I cancelled before final payment date.
