  1. I'm going to assume the dark side wins since the bozo throwing the dice is throwing at random and didn't even make an odds bet behind his Pass Line bet. He'll never roll a 4 anytime soon

HAHAHA! Did you catch the bozo slam his FIELD bet at 1:33 like it was some big deal? HAHAHAHA!

As expected, the don't player is knowledgeable. :D

  2. WOW!!!! I did really well today on the cruise ship. Big win today. I wish I could win like this all the time. It wasn't too busy today at the tables, but with me playing the dark side I got the usual stupid comments.

When the dice was presented to me to shoot (I usually pass on them) some idiot yelled out, "He is not allowed to shoot, bring the dice over here." I then said "I am shooting today, thanks!"

My roll ended up with the don't pass point and two instant don't come points. Then rolled the BIG RED myself and got paid big time!

    I loved it! :D

  3. I did not ask when you can put down a DC or DP bet.. I have played craps lots of times... I just never knew you could pick up a DP or DC. I normally play "right" and you can not pick up a PL or Come. When the table is cold I will bet the dark side, but I have never picked up the bet, as I did not know you could.

As for laying the 4 and 10... It would only make sence if normally place the 6 and 8. Just wondering if it works as part of your strategy??

Yeah I see that. LOL! It was 5:45 am. But I did answer your question by accident though. HAHA! Yes, you can pick up your don't bets at anytime because once the point is established you have the advantage now since there is more of a chance the SEVEN will be rolled before the point.

Welcome to the dark side. You may end up always playing it. It can be addictive, unless name calling hurts your feelings. LOL!

  4. ??? about don't betting.... 1. can you pick up any don't come or don't pass bet at any time?

    2. Do you ever Lay the 4 and the 10?

    No!

Don't Pass can only be made on the COME OUT roll.

Don't Come can only be made when the POINT has been established.

You can however remove either one of these bets at ANY time. Hope this helps.

I only lay odds on the 4 and the 10. Good luck!

  5. Actually that is a very common mistake, so let's look at it.

On a double zero roulette wheel there are 18 red numbers, 18 black numbers and 2 green numbers, so you place a chip on red, the chances of winning are 18/38

The ball lands on a black number, you lose, so following on with a very common betting pattern you place 2 chips on red, following the line of thinking that it is now more likely to land on a red number than it is to land on another black number, the dealer spins the ball and the odds are now 18/38 that you will win, exactly the same as before, the wheel has no memory, it's good to remember that.

Well let me clarify-I hardly EVER play roulette. If I am at the craps table next to a roulette table and see that there were six reds in a row ,"just for fun" I will simply toss a $5 chip on the black. There is no rhyme of reason to it. It is based on gut feelings. I am not suggesting this is a strategy to WIN in roulette. That is simply the way I play, IF I play. Does it win? Not too often because I hardly ever play roulette. Have I won before? Yes. Is it a roulette strategy? No. It is Yo Eleven's.

Any more questions you barroom brawlers? :D

  6. Let's all get along!!:( Yo ELeven..I have to thank you for getting the Casino forum started.. There are numerous times that my husband and I do the same thing when it comes betting black and red. Sometimes luck is all you got....I play the numbers, and see if I get lucky....it has worked in Vegas and we will see how well it will work on the bet. Someone in a different thread put a link for all of the different cruise ships and what the casinos had in them. I absolutely love that link, but I am a little bummed, cause I think it stated that Ecstasy only had 1 roulette table. Anyways, welcome to roulette and it doesnt matter how we play as long as we get to gamble!!!!!:D

Thanks for chiming in, Rodney! :D

Glad you like the section. Don't worry about us in here. We are all buddies though.

  7. but will bet black or red if I see that there have been many blacks or reds in a row.

What does that have to dowith the next spin:confused:?

Well if there are six reds in a row, chances are better a black will come up, right? If not, who cares? HAHA!

  8. Hello and welcome to the casino section!

    Yes, it is OKAY!!!!!

Great thread. I was thinking about adding a roulette thread but I didn't want to add too many threads at one time. You made perfect timing though.

I don't play much roulette but will bet black or red if I see that there have been many blacks or reds in a row. I will just slip by and put down a bet to try to win even money. That is my play. :D

  9. Yo Eleven,

I have been usuing your on line craps.com site in an attempt to learn the ways of the dark side. I want to add to my understanding of the game not that I would ever have the b@!!$ to do it on the table as I am to new at this. Any way to my question. I put my bet on the don't pass then take double the odds when the point is made. Then just sat there and waited till a seven was rolled or the point was made. rather boring. What other bets can be made (if there are any) to increase my bank roll. I still have to figure out the pay offs so as not to be cheated by the dealer.

Maybe it would be easier if you just explained what you do when you come to the table. Don't have to give away any secrets just the basics.

Sorry for the long winded post.

    ed :D

    Hey ed!!!!!

Let me see if I can provide some info to answer your question and give you some insight on what I do so I don't reveal any of my secrets. :D

Even if I posted exactly what I do, it won't make sense anyway. You would actually have to watch me so I can explain word for word. But let me try it like this.

Well for starters, the computer game can get boring mostly because it isn't for REAL money. Play it at the craps table and when you get paid I will guarantee you won't be bored.

Now it appears you played very basic strategy, here. That being playing the don't and backing the point with double odds and waiting for the big seven.

Now what you can do to add a little excitement to the table and maybe get the dealers to like you and when you feel the time is right on the COME OUT ROLL, put your don't pass bet and toss a couple of dollars onto the YO ELEVEN! If the eleven rolls out you lose your don't pass but WIN 15:1 on the YO. So if you had 15 dollars on the don't pass, and a dollar on the YO. You would have hedged your bet and not lose any money on the roll. Of course if the point is rolled, you lose the dollar on the YO. But so what. You have the advantage now as it is more probably a seven will be rolled before the point. Now, if you wanna make the dealers smile, throw two dollars on the YO on the come out roll and say, "2 Dollar Yo-One for me and one for you" This means you are better a dollar for yourself and one for the dealers. If it hits you win your 15 dollars and the dealers end up with a nice tip of 16 dollars total on that one roll. They will be your best friend. But don't do it all the time as remember a YO doesn't come out often enough to make betting on it profitable.

Now once you get your don't pass point. Go ahead and try to obtain a Don't Come Point. After the initial point is rolled. Place your double odds in the back of the don't pass bet and place a new bet in the small box called "Don't Come." If you want toss out a YO ELEVEN here if you wish. The Don't Come bet is SEPARATE from the don't pass but acts exactly like a brand new Come Out roll. So if a 2, 3 is rolled it wins. A seven or eleven you lose. Pushes on a 12. But if you have the YO out you would win 15 to 1 for the same reasons I described for the Don't Pass bet you had.

Now let's say now another point is rolled. Now you have a don't pass point and and don't come point. You want that seven to be rolled now and you will be PAID on BOTH numbers. Now if you have balls of steel. You can try to get another don't come point and have three don't numbers in total. And if a seven is rolled before any of those numbers, then BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE!!!!!

I would be careful doing that until you understand the concept. If you wish to take it easy then get your don't pass point. And leave it at that. What you can do though, to pass the time is place bet the 6 and 8 if the point ends up being a number other than 6 or 8. Maybe but six dollars on each one. While you are waiting for the seven before the point and the 6 and the 8 hit, YOU WIN. I wouldn't press the bets though. Take your profit and wait for the SEVEN. That should add some excitement to the game. I hope I didn't confuse you. Good luck! :D

  10. HELLO! I'm the female part of OCruisers! In land casinos I am always a wrong bettor! :D

I bet the Don't Pass ... then do two "Don't Come" bets ...naturally backing them up.

You are right about on cruise ships! Somehow, I have a hard time (and would not enjoy) betting against fellow passengers.

Well hello there, female part. LOL I know that was wrong but I am a wrong better, right? Haha I got you marked down as another female don't pass player. Where are you ladies when I am at the tables? I need a crew to help out!

  11. Did you see that one show about the Craps Team?

That one guy (forgot his name) was able to set the dice and call out the number.

Never seen that show, but crooked dice are known to exist. What I am looking for is if a crooked craps table that is magnetic exists and creates a seven as the number?

  12. We all heard of crooked dice, but has anyone ever heard of a crooked craps table?

The reason I ask is some folks swear this particular place has one. I won't disclose the alledged place though as there is no facts to support it. But, they say that the table is magnetic and this actually affects the dice and gives the house the ability to make more seven's show up on the dice. It sounds crazy but so is sending people to land on the moon. If that can be done, so can this I guess.

    Any thoughts?

  13. You are my hero:D and a man after my heart! I hope that everyone continues to have luck at the tables, but I can't, no I won't be doing the Jerry Springer thing....:D:D:D Too funny. Thank you for your kind words. I haven't actually played since May 09 when this incident happen and I guess my confidence was a bit shaken, but you all are giving me my courage to play again. Thanks again!

Who wouldn't want to win the heart of a 5'6" 130 pound lady? :D

Which really confuses the heck out of me as to why these clowns were acting the way they did. Clearly, you didn't have a 6'6" weightlifter by your side as he would have put them in their place. So why the hostility by them. Very weird, especially on a cruise when folks are trying to meet others and have a good time.

  14. Odd that you haven't run into many female wrong bettors. I have seen quite a few in my time -- probably the same percentage as male wrong bettors.

I also haven't found being a female craps player to draw that much attention, except occasionally if you have a complete newbie female shooter that people hope will be lucky. Personally I'm not particularly lucky or unlucky -- I've had my share of hot rolls, but on average I roll a 7 about 16.6667% of the time ;-/

I have had the dealers ask me if I was a dealer, I guess because I knew too much of the lingo -- told them they had "dirty stacks" and that kind of thing...

If I was going to generalize at all, I'd say most female craps players who are alone (as opposed to just hanging on their boyfriend/spouse or in a big group) tend to actually know the game pretty well, compared to the average male craps player.

    Nancy

P.S. Most of my craps playing has been in Reno, Vegas, or Indian casinos near Albuquerque. I have only played on a cruise ship once, and as I mentioned earlier on this thread *everybody* was playing the dark side cruise!

Hey Nancy: Nope never seen a female bettor play wrong for over 90 percent of the time before. Yes, sure, from time to time I have seen a female place ONE don't pass bet, but NEVER a female player that will put up a don't pass bet, then try to get two don't come points, and then place the 6 and 8. Never happened.

  15. ???

I was jokingly suggesting that you must have been on that sailing and slinging out insults to the nice young lady here. A dig on you for being a right bettor. Class dismissed. Haha

In other news. A very peaceful night on the boat right now. I made a really good profit tonight. No fights or name calling from anyone. A very nice game.

  16. Yo,

I am sorry to hear that you too have been in altercations simply because of your choice of play. Hopefully I have had my first and last. I will never understand why someone is upset about how I choose to spend my money and feel the need to dictate that.

You questioned how I felt the line was crossed beyond throwing the chip at me. The specific very inappropriate and hurtful comments including the “B” word is one that I won’t belabor with a lot of details here. But let’s just say some of the things were rude and demeaning. I am choosing not to repeat the insults in this forum, but believe that my only retort to them remained simply about playing the game and no personal attacks to the individual. I simply wanted the situation diffused and felt that once they threw a chip, that there should have been some sort of intervention. I am quite effective at tuning out the stares, whispers and comments of others and really don’t mind the attention as long as it’s not threatening. That is why this was so shocking to me, because it appeared to me that me not responding annoyed them even more. I am not confrontational or antagonistic and try to have fun while keeping a relatively low profile. My motto is kill-em with kindness and keep racking my chips, because for me, fun and making money is all that I’m there for. As long as I’m making money, trust me, I’m having fun, whichever side I’m playing from.

Yes, we are sailing on the Fascination next week and it’s not very much encouragement for my upcoming sailing. (LOL) This will also be my first time on this sailing and a short itinerary. This is a sailing with a group of family and friends so a lot of them will be at the table with me either playing or watching. Of all of the sailings where I will be at the tables, I will probably feel the safest and most secure this time. I believe I am a little more on guard these days and will speak with the Casino Host and Manager upon my sailing. I plan to explain what happened on May sailing and just see what their policy is if I feel that the atmosphere towards my personal space is hostile. Past that, as long as no one approaches me physically, I will be okay.

I am always a friend to the dealers at the table and usually ask them how they want their tip and let them choose. Sometimes I’ll put them up on the hardways or on the line. Don’t ask me why, but for some reason, I can’t bring myself to put their tip on the Don’t. That feels sort of TABU to me.

We enjoy sailing period, but have more Carnival cruises to our credit than others including RCCL and Princess. I know that any cruise or land based casino can have jerks so I just want to make sure that someone is looking after my safety wherever I am. I love traveling and cruising with a little (okay quite a bit) gambling thrown in. Again, I look forward to continuing to get lots of useful information from fellow gamers and would love to get feedback when I can. I actually like it when someone at the table especially someone that knows the game, challenges a perceived method. It’s good because it allows me make a case for my logic of the play and they then can share why they do or don’t think that is a smart play. I think this is a good way of my learning. I take it under advisement and sometimes it works, but I have to understand the rationale.

I have never seen hostility against a female craps player. This is strange to me. Then again, I have never seen a female wrong bettor. I would tell you this much if I happened to be at the table that night and those guys were acting like that towards you it would be a safe bet that they would suspend my play for the day/night due to my "rebuttle." I would not have tolerated that.

On the good side, normally you play with no problems at all. It isn't often that I get into a verbal debate but it does happen. It's stupid but remember there is drinking and money involved. And when that happens people tend to act stupid. But there is a difference between acting stupid and taking personal digs at you like that. Damn shame that happened. But, I wouldn't let it bother you. Stand strong when you are on the fascination. Also, I assume you are playing right next to the dealer right?

It surprises me that they would let the garbage go that far. Anytime the namecalling and three and four letter insults were exchanged across the table, the game would actually stopped until everyone calms down. If not, they simply will shut the table down if most everyone is involved. They actually shut the table down when me and this guy were about to fight after he threatened to beat me with the dealer's stick. I was told that although initially I was not the troublemaker and did nothing wrong, that it did not help the situation by me telling me what I thought of his mother and in graphic details. I was liquored up so that was my excuse. HAHAHA! No time in the brig though. But man, it sucked not having to be able to play for an entire day of the cruise. But it was fun telling him off though. HAHA!

Man you all got me all riled up and I am headed to the gaming boat now. I hope I don't actually get into a fight tonight. Man I am hyped up. I hope there is peace between the wrong bettors and right bettors and it doesn't end up like this. LOL!

    :p

  17. Hi Yo!!!! Thanks for the warm welcom and I look forward to participating in this forum.

I am definitely a rarity at the table especially on the don't side. My sister in law and I who usually travel together both play craps. I got her into the game. I am always looking for the best strategy and play and still struggle with many mostly money management techniques. I sometimes am a straight basic strategy Pass/Come and Don'tPass/Don't Come player with no more than 3 bets on the table. (if I can get them up there)

I sometimes will play the line while waiting for a decision. When I do this in conjunction with the don't, I take down the place bets after one hit and that assures me a small profit. This of course is when I fill a little daring and as long as the shooters are not "one hit wonders" this has proven quite profitable at times. Once I take the point down, I don't worry about how many times that the point hits after that. This is something that I just started experimenting with.

I also sometimes hedge on the 4 & 10 lay bet on the come out roll to cover the seven & eleven. I read someone in the thread mention that don't players never buy into the game. I have not had that be my experience, and typically color out at the end of each session. I guess my response to that is that if any player enters the game with chips instead of cash, maybe they are playing with previous session profits and don't need their cash. I will try to always leave my initial buy in in the room along with a percentage of my winnings.

I have to control my compulsiveness sometimes to enter the game while waiting on a decision on the don't. That is the hard for me when a lot of numbers are rolling. Sure as the world when I jump in to take advantage of a hot shooter, they 7 out when I enter. But as a basic strategy player for the most part, I stick with Don't/Don't Come with the occassional 6 & 8. If I play the 4 & 10, I usually buy them instead of placing them. I typically take no action on the 6 & 8 on the DC. When playing the DC, I have a couple of ways that I play with the table. One is to try to get my DC's up on roll 2 & 3 quickly and wait. The other is if I feel like the shooter may have a lot of numbers in them, I will space out my DC wagers every 2-3 rolls in an attempt to limit my exposure to repeating numbers, but still try to get at least 2 DC's up. Sometimes I don't make it up. I also try to play at least 2x 3x odds, depending on my bankroll.

That's a little about me, but I am here on this thread to learn and benefit from the knowledge of others. I don't know that I will be able to contribut any knowledge past my own experiences and am always trying to become a more affective player. Although I do pretty good, I want to learn more. The dealers are always pretty friendly and I will draw from there knowledge too.

I will be back to address your other thoughts/points a bit later. I would love to get your feedback on my methodology of play and others as well. That's what I'm here for. I wish we could play together since you have, as you put it, "NEVER" seen a predominately female dark sider. My family like to take junkets to different casinos, who knows.......:D

It is obvious you know what you are doing! GREAT!
