  2. Thanks for your replies. But my concern is related to health, not financial, concerns: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/pfas-chemicals-in-sparkling-water-polar-topo-chico-study/
  3. If this comment, plus your earlier likening of the food to "dog food," is not "overly harsh or dramatic," what would be? I'm sorry to hear that you are not enjoying your cruise.
  4. "Items such as sodas, energy drinks or other non-alcoholic items are not allowed on board in any form. . . . However, an allowance of six liters, twelve (12) cans or cartons (500 ml in volume or less) or six (6) cans or cartons (1 liter in volume or less) of water are allowed per stateroom." Is carbonated/sparkling water considered "soda" (disallowed) or "water" (partly allowed)?
  5. Soda cannot be brought aboard on embarkation in any form -- e.g., cans, plastic bottles, glass bottles? What's the rationale for the new policy? Is it only to enhance profit or is there some sort of safety-related concern?
  6. I've never seen "guarantee" cabins available for booking on O while other cabins in the same category were still available. But some other cruise lines do offer that capability (e.g., Azamara, Celebrity).
  7. For two itineraries, I compared pricing between the brochure and the website. For each itinerary, the US website alleges that a 10% discount will be provided for bookings through December 31. For both itineraries, the brochure prices were indeed 10% less than the current prices on the US website. Presumably, once bookings open (or, at the latest, once a booking process is underway), the brochure prices (i.e., the discounted prices), rather than the website prices, will appear.
  8. For what it's worth, I just spoke with another phone agent who was confident that the 10% discount is already baked into the prices listed on the website (and will be until year's end). We'll see!
  9. There are only 2-3 formal nights per week; and, you can opt out of the dress code on those nights, but your access to some areas of the ship will be restricted.
  10. The only gap in sailings in the next year is from April 19, 2024, through May 1, 2024, in Seattle. Could this be a dry-dock period? Thanks for any information.
  11. Could you reveal the cabin numbers? I'm looking to book an oceanview cabin that is quiet and midship. Also, what was preferable about the picture window vs. the porthole? Thanks.
  12. An Oceania telephone agent told me today that the early-booking discount is already baked into the fares listed. (As we know, though, agents can be wrong!)
  13. Does anyone know the approximate dimensions of the window in the deck 4 oceanview cabins?
  14. The window inside 7006 (C1, round window) was "small"? It looks huge from the photos linked above. Is the window bigger than the square window in the same category of oceanview cabins on deck 4? Is the cabin size bigger in the deck 6 and 7 oceanviews, compared to those on deck 4? Thanks.
  15. The listed price states "Promotional Fare," so the 10% may well be baked in. And, unless the discount is baked in, the price listed would be meaningless because anyone who books by year's end will receive the discount and thus not pay the price listed.
  16. Wow -- didn't realize that meals were available at that time. Go Oceania.
  17. Good day -- Do Azamara ships (like Oceania ships) have porthole cabins on deck 3? They don't appear as available choices on any of the cruises that I've considered for booking. If these cabins do exist, are they oceanview category 7? Thanks.
  18. Good day -- is it possible to check cabin availability on-line, or must Windstar or a TA be contacted?
  19. Oceania telephone agents told me this week that the August-December 2025 schedules for the rest of the fleet will be released on September 13 (agent #1) and October 18 (agent #2).
  20. Is the window in these obstructed-view cabins full-size, or is it a porthole? Thanks.
  21. Stockjock -- thanks to you (and your girlfriend) for sharing your voyage. Best wishes for the rest of your journeys in Greece and beyond.
