  1. I was just going by what the NCL agent told me. She said it would cost $1000 for twp people. I told her I didn't think that was worth it.

We were on the Dawn in May, we didnt get the drink package, and believe me, we like to drink.....We added up our charges and didnt come close to $900 in drinks.....For us, it wasnt worth it. Some days we just didnt feel like drinking alot.

  2. We booked a mini suite balcony gty for October 17 on the Dawn, wondering what we will wind up with. The only other time i booked gty was on a weekend cruise to nowhere on the Gem....That time I booked an inside and wound up with an inside handicapped cabin on the 11th deck.

  3. WOW!!

I am still in shock at the outcome.

I called NCL and the entire call with lots and lots of time on hold was TWO HOURS - totally worth it.

We originally had an inside on deck 5 and a balcony on deck 8. I called to try to get the two closer together (traveling with 20 and 21 year olds). They moved us both to balcony cabins on deck 12, one room apart, for NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE!!!

I am still in shock. NCL has made a very loyal cruiser with this move. An inside deck 5 moved to a balcony deck 12 for no charge? Amazing. Love you NCL!!!

Thanks for the replies. So glad I decided to make that phone call.

I am so happy it worked out for you!!

  4. We had booked a family suite on the Dawn this past may, the price dropped substantially and we called to see if we could get an on board credit. The on board credit offer was minimal and they upgraded us to the 2 bedroom suite for the same money as the family suite. We were very happy

That is awesome!! Which suite were you in? We were in the "Jade Suite" 11020. We actually had that suite two years in a row!

  5. I can live without breakfast and lunch in Cagneys. Back in May I did go to breakfast twice in Cagneys and lunch once in Cagneys....While we were in Bermuda the suite perk breakfast/lunch was at LaCuccina...I had breakfast there twice and lunch once. Both were great!! With our reservation for our October cruise we get a voucher for dinner at Cagney's and we get a voucher for dinner at LaCuccina.

After this cruise I will be platinum and will be able to have my laundry done for free!! Yippee!!

Edited to add: Final payment isnt due till August, so I probably wont be assigned a cabin till then.

  6. We cruised the Dawn in May in a suite. We just booked a mini suite gty for October. There were four of us in the suite and 3 more in the adjoining mini. This cruise is just my BF and I. I am hoping we can live without our butler!!

Has anyone booked a mini suite gty and got upgraded to a suite? Just curious, it will be room enough and if we want more snacks, we can always walk up to the garden buffet. I will miss breakfast being served in the cabin...:D

  7. Has anyone done the Jolly Roger fishing at the Dockyard?

There is an excursion through NCL, but we would probably book it on our own.

My BF loves to fish, I really dont want to do an all day fishing charter, so this looks like it might be fun for both of us.

  8. We were in Bermuda in May, I totally forgot about this while I was there, we jet skiing, swam at Tobacco Bay and tried to swim at the Elbow Bay, but the waves were to strong. So far none of our group of nine has had any problems.

  9. We cruised the Dawn in a suite on May 16. We got to the cruiseport around 11:30 and got right in!! It took a a bit to check in, we had a suite and connecting mini suite with all the room charges going on my credit card....We were in the Bimini Bar having drinks by 12:30!!

We barely had enough time for a snack in the "suite waiting area", we were whisked on board so fast, we didnt even have our picture taken...

  10. We were on the Dawn last week. We had snacks every day. Sandwiches, fresh fruit, cookies, candy, all sorts of fancy treats. We tipped him $40. There were 4 of us in the suite and 3 in the adjoining mini suite who helped us devour the snacks. We also tipped the concierge $40. He was always able to get us a table for 7 without any waiting.

  11. We just cruise the dawn last week. We were in 2 bedroom suite with balcony with the adjoining suite. There were four if us in the suite. One day the four of us plus one from the mini suite had lunch at cagneys. I called the concierge before we went just to make sure it was ok. That was the only day more than 2 of us went to cagneys for lunch.

  12. We met my brother in Bermuda last Sunday, he was staying at the Coco Reef resort. We had fun, but I was not impressed with the resort. Because he was a guest at the hotel, we didn't have to pay the "day" fee. We took the bus, it was close to an hour. Long walk to the resort from the bus stop. We stopped off at the market down the street for drinks and snacks. Some of the stairs leading to the beach were rotted out and at the bottom of the railings they had towels wrapped in duck tape.

Very strong waves and riptides (not blaming the resort for that), but made it difficult to swim.
