We are in Weymouth, about 15 miles south of Boston...I LOVE this cruise!! I love it so much, we cruised in May (with 5 kids) and are cruising again in October (just the 2 of us)!!
I love having the weekend to recuperate, but I can see that the extra day off may be hard for some...I am so close that I can go to work on the Friday afternoon that we get home, too...
Bon Voyage!!

I booked an MX in June for the Dawn for Oct 17. I was assigned our room assignment two weeks ago....we wound up with a forward mini suite, which i think was one step up.....on the plus side, its only 2 cabins from the suite that we have cruised in the last two cruises. Hopefully we wont have too hard a time being in a mini suite rather than a suite...

No more lobster? Time to cancel my cruise!!
We did have the tiny lobster tails on our May cruise on the Dawn, I better get my lobster fill before we cruise again in October....;)
Thanks for the warning!!!
I dont think this will make or break our trip.....Now if they cancel desserts, I may have to cruise another line!! :D

Our last 2 cruises were in a suite, this time we booked a mini suite guarantee, and our assignment is a mini suite forward..,it's pretty close to where our suite was...we haven't eaten at any of the pay restaurants on the dawn, but this upcoming cruise had 2 pay dinners for 2...one of la cuggina and one for cagneys, looking forward to that!

You probably already thought of this, but does Tim have a facebook page? The comedian on our sailing mentioned his. You might be able to track Tim's performance whereabouts on social media.
I am Facebook friends with Tim, but he hasn't announced where he will be in October.

Before I left for my first cruise in a suite, I came on here and ask how much I should tip the butler and concierge. I got answers from $30 a week to $500 a week. Now, maybe these folks tip that, I don't really care what they do, but I came up with my own number, which is pretty much in agreement with some others on her. But in reality, it really shouldn't matter to anyone else what someone tips or says they tip. People should only be concerned with what they do, not what others do. If someone ask what they should tip, I never tell them what to tip, just tell them what I do.
Well said!!

I am keeping my fingers crossed that Tim Kaminsky will be our comedian...He was filming a movie in Canada in May and he is on a different ship now....

Thanks, meglet. We went in May and had lobster the first night. We booked again in October and were wondering if the lobster had vanished. We'll check the buffet the last night.
Too funny, we cruised May 16 and are cruising again on October 17!! When we went in May we had 5 kids with us.....When we go in May, there will be NO KIDS with us!!

OMG!! If that is all it takes for you to never cruise with NCL again I can only
imagine how you deal with serious issues in life. OBC are suppose to be added a added bonus. It's not suppose to be something that will make or break your cruise.
Amen!!!!!

We will be taking our first trip to Bermuda in a couple weeks & I would love to know your opinion on the dolphin swim. A few years ago we went to Blue Lagoon Island in Nassau & really enjoyed the dolphin excursion. My daughter would like to do it again but I haven't seen many reviews. We have our first two days planned & still trying to decide on the last day. Toss up between dolphin swim, visiting caves & zoo/aquarium. If you had to pick, which would you choose? Also, my daughter is 18. Thank you!

The dolphin swim is right at the Dockyard, very convenient, but its pretty pricey (200+ for a half hour), you get in the water with the dolphins and get to pet them, but they dont actually swim with you like they do at other places. Its great to do once, but if she has already done it somewhere else, then maybe something else. We did it twice, the first time was almost magical, the 2nd time was nice but nothing spectacular. The caves and the zoo/aquarium are fun. Remember the caves are 80 steps down and up!!
You would have two options for getting to the caves and the zoo, you could take the ferry from the dockyard to St George and then the bus to the caves, another bus to the zoo, then the bus to Hamilton and the ferry to the Dockyard. Or you could take the ferry to Hamilton and the bus to the caves, another to the zoo and then back to Hamilton.

We also have been to Bermuda a few times. We have:
Swam with the dolphins
Hartley Helmet dive
Aquarium and Zoo
Jet Skiied
Catamaran ride
Crystal Caves
Been to beaches:
Elbow
Horseshoe Bay
Tobacco Bay
St Catherines
Taken the bus from one end of the island to the other, ferried from one end to the other....Bermuda is my happy place...So much that i booked a 2nd cruise this year for October...If anyone has any questions regarding any of the above places or things to do, please ask away!!

Sorry, thats what I meant, now that NCL's slot play coupon is done. I wish they had them for casino's around here....
-
Maybe NCL will bring their's back now that the SLOT PLAY COUPON is done...
I purchased them this past Friday for my October cruise....My daughter won $300 the first day of our cruise using her coupon and she never went back to the casino!! She is much smarter than me!! :D

We were in a suite on the Dawn in May. Suite guests did have breakfast and lunch in Cagneys on sea days. On Monday and Tuesday Cagneys was not open for breakfast and lunch, on those days suite guests could have breakfast and lunch in LaCuccina. (same menu as Cagneys) Not sure if this is for every week, but it was for the week of May 16.

Maybe I will get that all you can drink package. LOL
LMAO!! You may need it!!

Our concierge last year was Virginia, she was wonderful.....
We didnt call John for anything this year, we were lucky, we never needed his help. I did see him at breakfast and lunch in Cagneys, he was very pleasant and personable!!

Thank you!!
We cruised on May 16, we had such a great time we are going again in October.
Was the comedian Tim Kaminski? He was on the ship last year but was filming a movie during our cruise this year, hoping that he is back!!
We were in a SC this in may with the adjoining mini suite, there were 5 of us cruising. We booked a mini suite gty for October. We may upgrade as we get closer....
Thanks for your review!!

There was a letter left in each cabin about half way through our cruise that there was a passenger that didn't get their luggage and to please check to see if it were left in the wrong cabin....

There were two restaurants on the Dawn where shorts couldnt be worn....The Venetian and one of the speciality restaurants, maybe Le Bistro?
There were seven of us, some of us dressed up, some didnt...
Life is way to short to worry about what someone else is wearing...

It looks like a fun place, we havent tried the "new" one yet, maybe when we go back in October.

We did the KS in May, there were 9 of us, they split us into two groups. Our guide was great, took us to a shipwreck, then to a little cove to rest/swim...I would definitely it again!! It was my first time on a jetski by myself (54 year old woman) and I had a great time...
