  1. Hello,

You will need to book your MIL's ticket via her own cruise personaliser.

However, please don't worry as when I take my Parents on a cruise with us my Mum panics over the same thing.  I always have to book their tickets separately & we always take our excursions as a group of 4 without any issues whatsoever.

As previously posted as long as you all arrive together at the scheduled meeting point you will be allocated the same tour / coach etc.

    Enjoy.

  2. Hello,

DH & I are undertaking a 19 night Greek cruise in September this year.

Our ports include Malaga, Messina Strait, Mykonos, Athens. Santorini & Katakolon.

I have had a quick look at the 'general excursions' but appreciate that ours won't be known / finalised for another few months.

We are considering the HOHO bus in Malaga & Messina, but would be grateful for any recommendations as to what to do in the other ports.

I am a 'plain eater' & therefore am avoiding any tours that include lunch, however, am tempted by the catamaran trip with BBQ in Santorini & would love to hear from anyone who has done this tour. How much was it, was it worth it etc?

    Thank you.

Thank you for such a prompt response Joan. Your post was interesting as there's a video of the Retreat on YouTube which, to be honest, didn't look very impressive to me. I can see the attraction if perhaps if you were cruising during school hols but knowing you can buy day passes makes it a better option anyway if we decide we want a bit of peace and quiet.

You're welcome.  However, please be aware that day passes may not always be available as it depends on how many people have booked the Spa Packages.

  4. Hello,

We have used The Retreat previously & booked in again for 1 day during our cruise last year.

Personally speaking now that you are able to use the pool & Jacuzzi's free of charge I don't think the £30pp they charged us was worth it.  However, it depends on what you want / expect for your money.  I have to say that not may people used it but despite this they didn't offer any reductions.

We were very disappointed with the lunch menu, very different from when we used The Retreat previously.

    Here's some photos for you.

  5. Hello,

Whilst not the same ship, I have just returned from 2 weeks on Azura & had a cabin not too far from the lifts, D412 if you look at the deck plans.

I can honestly say that we didn't hear any noise whatsoever from the lifts.

I have to say it was very useful coming out of the lift & being in the cabin within seconds & likewise when leaving the cabin you were by the lift / stairs.

    Hello

I'm off on Ventura on Saturday and I have a few newbie questions.

Is the welcome pack of shampoo, shower gel enough for a week or should I take my own?

Do p and o supply body lotion?

Will I need a plug adaptor?

As a regular at the gym I was wondering what the procedure is...do we need to book in and are there lockers for valuables ?  Is there a water fountain with plastic cups or do we need our own water bottles?

Thank you for all your advice so far,  I am so looking forward to trying out a cruise.

    Hello,

The welcome bottles are only small, so it will depend on how often you wash your hair & the length as to how much shampoo you use,  personally I always take my own. Yes they do supply body lotion, but again it’s a small bottle. That said I sail from Southampton so luggage isn’t an issue for me.

There are lockers within the spa area & on Azura last week they were asking for a deposit for they key, which was returned when you’d finished.  Again personally I get changed in my cabin & walk to the gym in my gym attire.

There are water fountains & they also supply towels.  The machines do have slots for water bottles but depending on what yours is like it may not fit. If you just want to use the gym as opposed to attending classes then there is no need to book.  You just turn up & start your routine.  You will find a list of classes on the front desk if you wanted to sign up to any.

The equipment have TV’s on them so you can watch things as you’re exercising.

All P&O ships have UK style plugs, but we always take an extension lead with us so we can charge more than one thing at a time.

Please note however, that you should never leave anything on charge when you are not in your cabin & this will be covered when you attend your safety briefing.

Hope this has helped to answer your questions.

    Habe a wonderful cruise.

  7. Hello,

I have recently returned from back to back cruise on Azura.

Some may say I was mad (my Husband being one of them) however, I spent the morning of our ‘turnaround day’ walking around the ship & taking photos of the show cabins.

I have uploaded these to Flickr and hope that some of you may enjoy looking at them & that they might help you decide on what type of cabin you wish to book.

    Hi, Joan
We have booked to go on Azura 2020. We have cruised on her once before and stayed in an inside cabin on P deck P212. This time we are on P deck again but we have got a seaview P238. just wondered what cabin you were in and what our cabin will look like compared to our last cruise?

    Hello,

sorry it has taken longer than expected but if you look at the attached link you will see photos of 2 Seaview cabins on P deck.

As  previously mentioned, I was unable to take pictures of your exact cabin as this was too near the crew exit on the day.

    Hope this helps.

     Hope this helps.

  9. We spoke to our wine waitress last night who indicated that the packages would be available again from November.

The gentleman at the table next to us who we’ve been chatting to is a frequent passenger & knows a lot of the staff, however, he wasn’t aware of the packages.

So he’s off on a mission to find out what he can & report back to me!

If and when I ave anymore facts, I will let you know.

    Joan.

  10. Hi, Joan

    Hello,

Unfortunately I couldn’t get to view your cabin this morning as it was too near the exit.

However, I did manage to view 2 other Seaview cabins P316 & P320. One was set up as a twin & the other a queen bed configuration.

I am struggling to upload photos at present, but rest assured as soon as I can I will either post them or alternatively I will add a link to Flickr.

I had an enjoyable or sad morning depending on your view, looking around the various show cabins that were available to the tour groups to view. I will try and upload the photos to Flickr, but it might not be until I’m back home as not sure if my internet package will allow it.

I did knock on your cabin door this morning & whilst it was on the latch as there was no answe I assume you were out & about.

  11. We are in D733 the very last cabin on the starboard side with a double size balcony.

    Phil and Liz

Oh that's interesting re the balcony, I will have to take note for future reference.

We're on Azura for 19 nights next Sept. Originally booked D406 last year, but wanted a suite as it's our 50th birthdays but they were already sold out for the grade we wanted when we booked. Finally, one became available the other weekend so have just managed to upgrade to the Orissa suite D737, so we could've been neighbours!

Although we have had a suite on Azura before we've not stayed in D737 or one with the 'beam' so am hoping to sneak a look on Sunday so I might see you.

  12. You can certainly ask for a gin or tonic, or any other drink come to that. The wine waiters don't like having to go to a bar to get them as it all takes time, that's why they prefer to serve only wine but they will certainly do that if that's what someone wants. On our last cruise on Aurora I occasionally asked for a gin and tonic at dinner and it was served with a smile. One of my table companions asked for one regularly.

Oh dear they must hate me then as hubby & I are non drinkers & always ask for a coke & diet coke :)

That said, we have never had an issue with the service & quite often on cruises, once they've got to know us they've even had the drinks ready for us. I guess it's that sort of thing that saves them some time.

  13. Hi Joan, we are on the same deck as you and same type of cabin, first time for us in the larger balcony on Azura, normally have an ordinary balcony. Weather forecast looking great,

    Phil and Liz.

    We're in D412.

I'm sure you will love the bigger cabin & balcony, albeit it is totally uncovered.

I've been keeping an eye on the weather forecast & as you say it's looking good.

    I'm keeping everything crossed.

    Hello,

We are staying in a Superior Deluxe Cabin on D Deck.

I will make a note of your cabin number & will wander past that deck on the turnaround day & see if I can sneak in & grab some photos for you.
