Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. On every NCL cruise when I have sailed solo, the solo host has always been able to book one or two tables at the MDR for the solo group for a specific time every day. On the Viva TA in November, there was a table or two waiting for us every day at the Commodore. On our current Prima sailing, the solo host advised the group that he was unable to book any tables for us. I would be interested to learn the reason behind this policy shift. Was this just for our particular sailing, just on the Prima, or now standard practice across the fleet, for our convenience?
  2. Sincere apologies...there's more chance of me sending you cookies and hash browns from the Prima than of me sending you my delicious maple creme Canadian Oreos.
  3. @mking8288 is sweet as well and a good sport for taking my blows and punches.
  4. I am not planning to bring any souvenirs back home as I would have to make the difficult decision whether I want to house non-essential objects or house myself, given the limited space in my abode. However, I made an exception for one Canadian souvenir...
  5. There was a Vietnamese restaurant in Manhattan called Pho King which tragically burnt down along with a few other establishments on that block.
  6. In my quest for more puffin-friendly environments, I walked over to the Halifax Public Gardens. And here are some distant cousins of the puffins though I've heard that there's some bad blood between them like the Hatfields and McCoys.
  7. After my lobster lunch, I ventured off to Halifax Folklore Centre, sellers of string instruments, because I read that they have a Gibson Les Paul Deluxe. To my shock and horror, I noticed a sign posted on the door of the establishment that said "No Puffins." While I found the strength to regain my composure, I quickly left the ugliness behind me as I would never support such bigotry.
  8. Having read that @mking8288 was disappointed with the lobster at Palomar, the featured Mediterranean seafood restaurant on board the Prima, I decided to take matters into my own hands and hunt for lobster while in Halifax. Many folks mentioned Salty's, a waterfront seafood restaurant which is a short walk from the Halifax port, so off I went to satisfy my crustacean craving. And the verdict...3.75 out of 5 stars. The service was cheery and prompt. The view and calming atmosphere enhanced the enjoyment of the meal. The lobster meat was fresh and sweet. However, the cook made a cardinal sin by overcooking the lobster, which made it chewier than it should be. Not terrible, but lost a few points in my opinion. This alone would not discourage me from giving Salty's another shot next time; however, there are always other restaurant's I might want to try. @JIMESOPUS unfortunately, I did not have a chance to go to Julien's Patisserie but it is at the top of my list for next time.
  9. I have the same configuration today. I wonder if at housekeeping they have photos posted on the walls showing the pillow configuration for the day, just like they have photos of the food posted on the walls at the galley.
  10. In Halifax…Going With the Flow…while posting to Instagram and Cruise Critic…do you see what I see?
