  1. With encouragement from @mking8288 we made reservations at The Commodore again for tonight. We were seated before 8:30 and were done before 10:30. It was definitely a more pleasant experience to be away from Hudson’s Kaosland. After dinner we walked through the casino to the Penrose Bar for Reggae Night with the Jamaican-based band Familiar Strangers. Always fun to sway to the beat. Then the posse closed out the night with DJ Vibe at Syd Norman’s where only the diehards were still rocking to Whitney Houston. Clubbing always ends at the Local for a hotdog with sauerkraut and bacon. One posse member always orders a plate of cucumbers. Nothing else.
  2. I am a MickeyD fries fan girl. That statement hurts. Speaking of potatoes... A friend ordered loaded potatoes for lunch at Hudson's, but what was served was mostly potato skin with some toppings, almost like the potato was hallowed out. On another occasion, the fries looked like it was also hallowed out. The potato croquette actually seemed like mozzarella sticks, but not the good ones which @cruiseny4life would be excited over. Excellent potatoes can be found at Palomar...Patates Tiganites (hand-cut potatoes, olive oil, rosemary) and Pommes Puree (whipped Yukon potatoes, fleur de sel).
  3. My encounter at the CruiseNext desk could simply be that the staff member is still wet behind the ear. @mking8288 could shed light regarding whether the bag of free laundry is per person or per stateroom.
  4. Some of us made it to the club last night, but none of us closed down the joint. I was dancing up on Deck 7 and felt like a go go dancer, not that I have any experience.
  5. I asked the CruiseNext desk how many free bags of laundry I would be entitled to for this 15-day cruise and was told one bag per stateroom. This is after I just purchased eight CruiseNext credits and was thanked for my loyalty to Norwegian as a Diamond Latitudes member. I replied that on a previous 16-day cruise, I was entitled to two free bags. The crew member then handed me one of those free laundry coupons. 🤷‍♀️
  6. We did have a good experience at The Commodore when the group returned from the Blue Lagoon on Sunday night. We were able to grab a table just before 9:30. Many others were seated after us having returned from their excursions. As we were scheduled to overnight in Reykjavik and excursions were returning late into the night, it might have made sense to extend the buffet hours beyond 9:00pm. I do not know whether this happened. However, I do know that the Local was overwhelmed. One friend ordered chicken wings to go because the wait time for a table was unknown. Another friend mentioned that crew members from other departments, who were unfamiliar with the operations at the Local, were asked to pitch in. Under these circumstances, I can’t blame the crew for the chaos. The fault lies with management.
  7. Even though dinner at Hudson’s lasted nearly three hours tonight, I did pop into the Prima Club for a brief visit. It was a night of ABBA, Bee Gees, disco, funk and soul. I missed the ABBA and Bee Gees portion which was fine with me, but who could resist Barry White? IMG_8529.mov
  8. @mking8288 thank you very much for the kind offer but our posh solo lounge is stocked with different teas including mint. Just no cookies. Speaking of cookies…I was advised today by someone high up in the food chain (pun intended) that they have stopped putting out cookies because it became too wasteful…people would grab a bunch and then end up tossing them in the garbage. However, if we wanted cookies, we can always have them delivered to our stateroom. And there you have it. Blame it on those who walk around with ziploc bags.
  9. Why am I not at the Prima Club right now? Because we finished dinner at 10:45pm. We have a standing reservation for 8:00pm so we were seated immediately. At 9:45pm our dinner plates were still sitting in front of us and dessert menus were nowhere to be found. I ordered mint tea but was given a green tea bag in hopes that I would not notice that they did not have mint tea available. Green tea would have kept me up all night, so hot water it was for me. Someone else in our group ordered tea with milk but the milk never came. On the positive side it was a beautiful sunset tonight with no supplement charged.
  10. Indeed it is a ding… I lack imagination so there’s no way I could have made that up. The weather in Iceland can turn for the worse very quickly, so visiting the museum is a good way to warm up the body and increase blood flow to the muscles.
  11. Yes please do! But just to be clear…you have to attend as well, not just ask Susan to go and check it out as your proxy.
  12. It is Abba and Bee Gees tonight so you really have no excuses. All you have to do is flutter your arms a bit. Expect you and R to be there. Even @mking8288.
  13. There were only four of us at Palomar last night as many have already used up their dining packages. And yes, we closed down the Prima Club last night. If lucky I might have slept three hours. I don’t drink but it feels like I did.
  14. Last night was the Sensoria party at the Prima, formerly known as the White Party and then the Glow Party. It was a different show from the one I saw in March 2023 which included scantily clad dancers. I did arrive late after dinner last night so maybe they made an appearance earlier in the evening. As usual Alvin the Master of Ceremonies worked the crowd. Our group closed out the club at around 1:30am, which really meant 2:30am with the never-ending time changes. Yes, I am dragging today and perhaps a little crabby. IMG_8504.mov IMG_8501.mov IMG_8523.mov
  15. We had 8:45 reservations at Palomar tonight. Wish I had remembered to come by your table to disturb your peace.
  16. You sailed with @mking8288 last time, I am sailing with him this time, it would naturally follow that you and I would sail together next time. 😊
  17. Whoops…that should be je ne sais quoi. Better brush up on my French before they let me loose in Le Havre. The French will likely snicker at me regardless.
