I really don't know. Maybe it is to keep down the number of water cartons they have to keep on hand. Or to know ahead of time how many to stock?

We traveled as a family group and my grand daughters stayed in our cabin with their parents in a different one. They had to fill out a parental consent form. I was told various things but the one that made the most sense is that in the event of an emergency the two groups might be in different life boats and they needed someone legally responsible for the minor. It really is no big deal. Just present it at check in.

It was warm on our late August Alaska cruise but very rainy!!!

I bought a package of plastic pastel colored rectangle trays. They are big enough to hold a large plate, a smaller plate and one or two cups. I bring one or two on any trip I go on even land based for the free breakfast in the lobby. People are always stopping me and asking where I got it from. Makes life much easier

I think a few bubbles here or there are no big deal and I love hearing kids having fun. I just don't want to walk through a spilled bottle of bubbles and slip and fall.......

That is really high even if the cabin is beautiful and has Haven priviledges.

We always cruise in the Haven and consider ourselves lucky if we pay $1,000 per night all in. On our recent Getaway cruise in the Haven over President's week it was easily twice that so I would have to answer in my experience no special pricing over holidays in fact quite the opposite.

Once when talking to a cab driver in the Bahamas he told me that the public hospitals are open to everyone but if ever the need arise and I want to go to their private hospital you have to give them $300 in cash before they even see you. It might not be true but that is what he told me. So.... I always bring what I consider emergency money not to be touched. I keep it totally separate not to be spent. I imagine other countries are like that too.

I think the porters do care. We had three bags and I had four five dollar bills in case different porters took our bags. As it turned out one porter took all three. I handed him $20 in fives and said here is $20 for the three bags. He stood there and counted it. LOL That's OK it is back breaking work and I probably should have tipped more.

We have sailed in the Haven on five different ships but never on yours. There are subtle differences. That said it wasn't until our latest cruise that I took advantage of the breakfast room service...we always just went to the buffet. It was wonderful. Arrived right on time and more food than we actually ordered.

No but there is a free trolley that the locals use in Miami and we used this to see the sights. Then I could have just taken a cab to the airport. Judging by the number of suitcases we were not the only ones.

My daughter was just in a balcony cabin on the Getaway. She was very happy with it. I think the bathroom is larger in the Club Balcony. Food is subjective. We had good meals except for LaCucina. You can order cartons of water ahead of time or just get water from a bar or buffet. Never used the air.

I attended a beach side service on Maui. It was very beautiful with the participants facing the water and the pastor with his back to the ocean. During the service we saw whales. If the timing works that is an option if you can find a location.

It used to be that the dress code for LeBistro was waved embarkation day. That's when we would eat there. LOL As for the sofa bed my husband is 74 and he was able to open and close the bed for our grand daughter after watching the room steward do it once. The room steward was not happy when he found out. He was worried my husband would hurt himself but didn't outright tell him not to do it.

We cruised to Bermuda in early May. It was fine. Don't know about earlier except we had to skip it on the Getaway a few weeks ago and they substituted Miami

We have sailed in the owner's suite on RCL and numerous times in the Haven on NCL. Basically the owner's suites are just larger versions of the Grand Suites. They are not the same experience as the Haven. My husband loved the owner's suite because of the concierge lounge with free drinks and appetizers in the early evening. That said the attention from staff in the Haven is amazing. I had an ongoing problem with cleanliness, non functioning toilet, and scalding hot water in the shower on RCL that dragged on and on. I doubt that my butler and room steward on NCL would have let it go on and on. I know because we had a toilet issue on my last cruise on the Getaway and it was fixed in under two hours.

If you do the math new vs old promos basically the same price. The only time we got a deal is when they changed our one week cruise out of New Orleans to a nine day cruise and told us we didn't have to pay extra. A month later they must have had a lot of cancellations since I repriced it (before final payment) and it was a $1500 reduction. So a nine day cruise rather than a seven day cruise for $1500 less...Other than that unique situation It's basically all the same.

My experience was a little different. I felt I had too much food served. Most of it was very good but some was not. The lamb in LaCucina smelled very weird and I only ate two bites.

Norwegian cancelled a couple of our shore excursions so we were owed about $400 back. We were disembarking on a Sunday so on Friday I saw the line was short so I went to ask for the money. They said they won't give it back until the last full day(Saturday). I explained that I physically cannot stand in line for very long and if I wait until the last day that is what will happen. The manager overheard me and said that look for him on Saturday and he will handle it. I had no confidence that would happen but it might have. My husband took pity on me and got up at 5:30 on Saturday and got it handled. So...either get up early or if you are a senior citizen like me look for the manager if the line is too long. This was on the Getaway.

I usually tip $10pp per day to both the room steward and also the butler. This time they went above and beyond so I tipped a little more than that. I don't use the concierge for anything other than group priority disembark so I gave her $50.

We took a land based vacation and took a small boat to see the NaPali coast. It was great but I think seeing it from the deck of a cruise ship would have been a better perspective

There have been enough times that ATM's in other countries have been out of cash or in questionable locations that I don't rely on them.I bring US dollars and put it in the safe taking out a little at a time as needed. Yes there are places on the ship to get dollars but I heard on the cruise before ours on the Getaway that the cash machine was empty by the end of the cruise and not replenished. I have never tried getting cash at the casino but it might be a good option.

Missing the NaPali coast in Hawaii is like missing Glacier Bay in Alaska. Sorry to hear that. You will have to decide if this is acceptable to you.

Decide what Haven perks are meaningful to you. I value the priority embarkation and disembark first and last days and during the cruise. I value knowing that if a problem arises we have multiple people to contact easily to get it corrected but not so much the Haven courtyard unless the ship is very full. Then bid what it would be worth it for you to have what you value.

We just take a piece of paper the size of an index cad and jot down a few things. One for the butler and one for the room steward. We write the cabin number on it with our name at the top then hand it to them when we see them for the first time. Then a list of requests trying to keep it under 5 items. This past cruise for the room steward it said 1. more hand towels please 2. if possible towel animals (time permitting) and 3. Make up and put away sofa bed. The shorter the better. Only the most important items on the first day are mentioned.
