We have an extra night in Seattle after our cruise. I am considering renting a car and explore the area other than downtown (we stay there two nights pre-cruise). May possible drive to Olympia to see relatives. Will stay at a hotel by the airport for that night. Has anyone ever rented a car close to the cruise terminal and returned to the airport?

Boarding in Istanbul was a circus a couple weeks ago. They really haven't figured out how to make the new terminal work very well. You would assume that if a ship was disembarking that there would be plenty of cabs, but that may not be the case. As you have read the taxis can be a bit of a pain, unless you are getting in one at a hotel. The good thing is with the currency issues even the inflated price is really not that much, just make sure you have a price set before getting in the cab. If you are spending a few days in Istanbul look at the Istanbul e-pass. Not only does it get you guided tours to most of the sites, but if you have whats app you can text them and they will respond quickly with all kinds of local advice. We stayed at the Park Hyatt in a wonderful area that is close to the port.

No charging ports in rooms. Internet can be spotty. I managed to make it mostly through a football game online but it was in the middle of the night. We just had another port change. Making a run for Marseille in some pretty strong headwinds. Captain said it could be a bit of a rough night.

I made a calculated mistake and booked a very long Med cruise during the heart of football season on the Riviera. Is there any venue on the ship that might have a game playing?

I will be on a ship stopping in Italy in September. When do the current Covid rules expire?

Are the ships all full and the buffets open? Specifically looking at Liberty of the Seas out of Galveston.

My wife and I each have almost 200 nights on Princess, but none in Alaska. We have been asked to join a couple (new to cruising) for an anniversary trip to Alaska. It looks like there are two basic itineraries. What do people prefer, the Seattle round trip or the Vancouver/Anchorage trip? Sorry to be lazy and not do the research, but I figure there are some very experienced cruisers on here that would have all the answers. Thanks in Advance!

We did that same day. It seems like we took a very adventurous taxi ride to get there. Do allow for plenty of time to get back to the ship. There were not many cabs late in the day. We made it back in time but it was a little too close for comfort. Had a very good day. Would go again.
