  1. Only £20 for a taxi to Greenwich? Where did you pick up the taxi?
  2. This may be of use: https://www.thamesclippers.com/plan-your-journey/find-your-pier/greenwich-pier Looks like Greenwich pier is “accessible,” so I imagine there’s a ramp or something off the Clipper. We’re definitely going to do the Clipper unless the weather is abysmal.
  3. We hope to do the same thing. Please let us know how it turns out.
  4. Under that new category, VeriFLY is now listed as required “for select US/CAN itineraries.” So not for Trade Routes of the Middle Ages.
  5. I believe there’s still an insurance discussion group on this board somewhere. I know some insurance professionals read it. Maybe ask there?
  6. It won’t need to, as cmaasfamily says above. Not to use Apple Pay, anyway.
  7. Great. So I can turn off cellular on my watch, put my phone in airplane mode, and still use Apple Pay. That’s very helpful, thanks!
  8. Has anyone used an Apple watch overseas? We will have Verizon’s daily international plan for my phone, which only charges you if you use data (or make a call) within a 24-hour period. I’m wondering if using the watch will trigger the data plan. Or if it will trigger a separate, even more expensive data charge. Or nothing at all. I’m interested in using the watch to pay for things via Apple Pay instead of pulling out a credit card. Again, though, I’m wondering if this will trigger the data plan or separate charges. Anyone have any experience with this?
  9. On the nights you particularly want to see a show, you can eat at any of the non-specialty restaurants (main dining room, World Café, Mamsen’s) at whatever time works for you. No reservations required; just walk in.
  10. If you’ve been on enough Viking cruises, you’ve probably spent some time in Bergen. We’ll be spending a couple of nights there after our upcoming cruise. Where should we eat? Last time we were there, I think we just went to a little grocery store for dinner and grabbed something boring. Surely we can do better than that?
  11. Sounds like she may not have changed much. According to this article, she still features Nordic interiors and maybe the original restaurants, presumably with some tweaks? https://www.cruisemapper.com/news/9464-zhao-shang-yi-dun-viking-sun-first-cruise-ship-china I didn’t realize Viking was doing a joint venture with China on this.
  12. Oooh, yes, I’d forgotten about cucumber. Thanks! We got the SS package for our upcoming cruise (we had to burn through voucher money, which I may have mentioned here), so I’m looking for good drink ideas. This one’s on the list!
  13. Andy, we may not agree on all things Covid, but I am sorry to hear that a medical issue has caused you to have to cancel. We have been facing a similar situation; just got a reprieve for our cruise in September but have a big question mark after that. Hoping for the best of outcomes for you and your family.
  14. I’ll take a Hendrick’s G&T on the rocks with a twist, please. Given our day today (doctor appt), better make it a double.
  15. I just bought this one at a much reduced rate over on Amazon: https://www.baggallini.com/overnight-expandable-laptop-tote-with-rfid-phone-wristlet/OET337-BG-B0001-NS.html Will report back after I’ve seen it.
  16. You sure can’t beat the price on that one.
  17. Those are wonderful, Clay, and look like they would hold a lot. Did he base them on a commercially available bag by any chance? Love the bright red carryons, too. What are they again?
  18. Yes, a sleeve on the back would be ideal. I’m finding straps, like the one on the black ebags tote above, but not sleeves. Those of you who’ve used bags with a strap on the back rather than a sleeve, how has that worked out for you when you stack it on your carryon? I’m also wondering about small duffles, again with a sleeve on the back. I don’t need it to look pretty, just hold a lot and yet miraculously fit under the seat.
  19. Reading today about the latest luggage snafu at Heathrow and various other luggage horror stories this summer has made me look more seriously at bringing only a carryon in September. I think I might just be able to manage it if I bring a capacious bag to go under the airplane seat as well. I’m looking for something that can sit on top of my carryon as I’m dragging it around. No backpacks or rollers. Suggestions?
  20. Another laundry question: can you specify when you want things air-dried rather than run through a dryer? I put underwear and socks through the dryer but that’s about it.
  21. Interesting that your post didn’t end up in moderation limbo. Every time I’ve used the name of that site, I’ve been stopped by an algorithm that throws my post over to a moderator.
