  1. The only ones I ever saw was those that needed delivery by a server and those didn't go to the person ordering them. Especially with a soft drink, after they got to know me and my morning diet coke, I'm not even sure they bothered to put it into the system... 🙂 (We had the drink package.) We were recently on Carnival and thought the receipts were pretty silly. They make you sign them, but don't give you a copy and often in the outside bars it seemed like a lot of them would blow away anyway as they weren't too attentive to them. It might help you know what you purchase, but it wouldn't prove you didn't purchase something anyway..... I only had one problem on my recent cruise where they charged me for a small bottled water in the dining room. It was immediately removed when I brought it to Customer Service attention.
  2. I'm wondering if Vines even HAD a menu available to you? Recently on the Emerald and asking for a menu seemed like a foreign concept there. There were no QR codes on the tables like other venues. When they finally got me a menu, it was paper and the only Plus options available were the same as all other bars. Even at the Premier level, there wasn't much by the glass for us white wine drinkers..... ☹️
  3. Thanks for the extra explanation. I think I was 'missing' part of it as you indicated. I do see how this could be an advantage to be able to re-book only one of the flights. I have 'wished' I could do that in the past also. I actually originally booked the 14 day cruise not realizing that it was offered as 2 - 7 day cruises (no repeat ports - Mediterranean). I realized today when I was re-booking for a price drop that the other advantage with the Love Boat sale was by booking as 2 cruises, we each got 2 - $100 excursion OBC. We don't take a lot of Princess excursions....but with the available $, we will likely find some to use it on! This is the first time I have done a B2B and I see there are many things to consider. Thanks.
  4. OK. Thanks. I will look at that when it opens. SInce this isn't until October 2023, hopefully airlines improve by then. I live in "Delta" world with usually very few options. I know that this summer had I tried to book directly on Delta's website, the price for one way was the same as round trip, meaning it would cost me double. I didn't actually try it on EZ Air, so maybe it will be different. As it turned out, my last cruise (international) I ended up coming home on Iceland Air after Virgin Atlantic cancelled mine, which was interesting....
  5. Guessing this has been asked and answered, but the search function is less than helpful... I just booked my first B2B (both 7 days). When flights become available in EZ Air, is the correct way to do this just to book the flights in the first cruise coming home 7 days after the end of that cruise to accomodate the next cruise? Or what has been your experience? TIA
  6. @We_like_to_cruise -- just wanted to say THANKS SO MUCH! for starting this thread. Today I was able to cancel a 14 day cruise and book it as 2-7 day cruises. It saved me over $1000 (due to price drops which have occurred)! I had tried contacting my PVP earlier today and of course got her 'out of office' message. Then I tried calling and got the 'unusually busy' message. I decided to try Live Chat and the person immediately responded. It took her a while as this was a little more complicated than just a normal refare, but she got it done and kept coming back to tell me she 'was still there'. It was a great experience and I plan to try using it more often! 🙂
  7. I agree with you that I really like the new way being able to easily reserve and change my dining time. However, I do have sympathy for those who want a traditional dining experience and it seems like with a little effort, Princess could also accomodate them....
  8. I just rebooked a cruise under the new promotion due to a price drop. Under credits, it lists it as: "Shore Excursion Credit" Whether or not it will be restricted to that is yet to be known. It does make it very identifiable for a good programmer (LOL---probably not Princess IT, but in theory) to easily identify it.
  9. We're on the Ruby on October 1st. My understanding is that would qualify. Final Payment made. Many balconies and minis available. We have a balcony and likely wouldn't bid on a mini as I am picky about where it would be.... but....I was curious to see what the process looks like, I haven't seen anything yet.
  10. Room 2 doesn't have them either. I have found this true often in European hotels. Doesn't matter to me, but I know some people really miss them....
  11. We have stayed in Room 2 a couple of times now. It's a little unique, but we really enjoyed the location and the price is reasonable: https://room2.com/
  12. I believe Vines is not on the newest Princess ships - Discovery and Enchanted. The wine cellar is I think where wine bottles are stored for the dining room. Sadly, recently on the Emerald and Vines is 'not like it used to be' with a very poor selection of especially white wines by the glass. There were no options other than what could be gotten at any other bar...really not sure what Princess is thinking...guessing they are 'over' the wine bar concept. ☹️
  13. This sounds like a bug to me. Pretty sure on our last cruise we did an excusion where we had some OBC, but not enough to cover the excursion and it charged us only the balance....I would call and see if they can do it for you...hopefully getting someone else.... My excursion was a while ago, so guessing they broke something that used to work. About the upgrade to Plus or Premier....I saw that too and thought it was pretty dumb since I also have Plus....
  14. Maybe on the east coast you have better competition ie. better pricing to begin with? In the Midwest, Delta pretty much "owns" the airline industry, so generally it's more expensive with less options, which makes EZ Air offers (especially international) a really good deal.
  15. It 'used to" be about 45 days, but in recent months, most people (me included) are reporting that they seem to be paying at about 30 days.
  16. Recently off the Emerald and I think sometimes the crew is as resistant to using the medallions as some people are. Some of them wouldn't even ask or try scanning your medallion. They would look at their tablet and say "got you" and others always just asked for your room number without looking at their tablet or their register. DH got so tired of people asking for his room number, he made a card and put it in his front pocket and just pulled it out and showed it to them. That way he didn't have to repeat it a couple of times if they didn't hear him. It also seemed like if you are always shouting your room number when you have the package, it would be pretty easy for someone to hear it and use that number if they weren't really checking pictures. 🤷‍♀️
  17. I know this is an old thread, but this is the last thing I remembered....that deposits were only required for guests 1 and 2. I have FCDs for myself and DH, but planning a family cruise in 2024 and DDs cabin will have 4 people. It's a 7 day cruise and it's ending up as $1000 deposit for a mini. I searched on Princess, but can't find anything more current. I did some random mock bookings and it seems that deposits are all over the map... Anyone know what the current rules are? 🤷‍♀️
  18. I think Princess often has a Math problem. I have been tracking some 2024 Caribbean cruises---looking to do a family group cruise. Prior to this sale, the Plus package was $400 more for a 7 day cruise than Standard. That works out to $57 / day more....not the $50 as advertised. We're not yet ready to book, so watching the prices...they now have 'corrected' that....by raising the Standard price. Now it works out to $49 / day more for Plus! Since Princess is often not doing Math correctly, let the Buyer beware... Also, interesting to see how they will make the $100 for excursions only? I was wondering if that would be the case in reality...doesn't seem like their system would be able to figure it out. Maybe that's why it isn't included for Standard fares---it could then be used for gratuities. However, the fine print is interesting as it does state it can't be used in the casino: †$100 Shore Excursion credit per guest. Offer is applicable to all four guests in a stateroom. Offer is only applicable on bookings with Princess Plus and Princess Premier fares. Guests with single occupancy will receive double the per guest credit amount. Shore Excursion credit may be used on a single voyage only, is not redeemable for cash, cannot be used in the casino, expires at the end of that voyage and is not applicable during the land portion of cruisetours. Shore Excursion credit is based on the ship’s onboard currency.
  19. No wine flights in Vines on Emerald anyway. I think Princess is 'done' with the Wine Bar concept....wouldn't be surprised if they convert existing Vines to something else.....such a shame. They used to be a really nice place for a pre-dinner glass of wine...
  20. I think there is a Princess pick up in town also, but with 6 a car service would likely be cheaper. We used to use Smiths also. This time we used Blackberry Cars--very satisfied with them also. https://www.blackberrycars.com/southampton-airport/taxi-southampton-heathrow-airport/
  21. I'm missing something here.... Did the OP say they had 2 credits for SD dining? We are just off the Emerald. Before leaving, we booked SD dining in the CG at a table for 4 for us and another couple using the app. We each had a free specialty dining included with our booking. Prior to booking, we just had them linked as companions and when we booked it, we included them. Netiher of us got charged. This should work as long as you see the banner in DMW on the app indicating you have a free specialty dining. You should also be able to see what it 'plans' to charge your credit card. The only glitch we had was that we each got a note in our stateroom that indicated Princess had made a reservation for us at Sabatinis(!) at a day and time for our free dinner and included the dinner coupons. We stopped by Customer Service and they looked up our reservation at CG and it was still there. They told us we could just ignore the paper that came to our room. We went to the CG at the time we had reserved with the app and all worked as it should. No charge. 🙂
  22. This is my review from the cruise I got off last week. The Emerald is going into dry dock this fall sometime for "sprucing up", so she should be in great shape for your January cruise!
  23. Only when the dispensers aren't working. Just off the Emerald and all dispensers working, so not free.
