  1. Finally got my 14 day on the Sapphire in February 2025. It was painful and as a retired IT developer, I just started guessing what the developers did and didn't do. So I have some tips: 1) Try and figure out which dining room on your ship has the type of dining you are looking for. I wanted to make nightly reservations. For the Sapphire, I finally figured out the dining rooms (that I am aware of) for this are Savoy and Vilvadi. (Sapphire has 5 dining rooms.) Maybe ask on this thread if someone has been successful for your ship if you can't figure it out? 2) In the case of the Sapphire, sometimes I just couldn't get a reservation to 'take'. Then I switched to the other dining room. 3) When it presents you with the box, "Select Seating Type", if Private is greyed out and won't take your click....I finally figured out that this means even though they showed you the time to pick, there really isn't that time available for a Private table. Try another time. (It would have been more logical to put the seating type before the times....but...y'now... 4) For many of my reservations, I got both a "You're All Set! Your reservation has been done!" box AND an "Error-Internal Server" box. In those cases, I did indeed get the reservation made. It does seem that the server is being maxed out, so if you don't have specific times you want, you might want to wait a few days and hopefully 'some' of these issues might get better. Though it still seems 'wonkier' than it needs to be. 🧐
  2. Quoting myself... And it gets better.... The $99 Deposit comes out to $1000 for 4 people. Some 'interesting' Math, I guess.....
  3. Gotta 'love' these "SALES". Since there are these 2 sales coming up, one starting today and one starting on the 4th, I decided to wait to book. My fare now with the 40% off is HIGHER than it was yesterday...and no....it's not about mixing in the port fees and taxes, I already had that in my spreadsheet.... And what is with the "FREE 3rd & 4th guests" only being on very select sailings? I guess I'll wait and see what the one starting on the 4th does..... I suppose it'll cost me even more.... 🤷‍♀️
  4. My cruise in 2 weeks for which I had made reservations, now has NO reservations. I still can't book reservations for my February 2025 cruise. Good job Princess. ☹️
  5. Call Princess and ask to talk to EZAir.
  6. The pictures are to pay on the cruise itself. Are you perhaps trying to book specialty dining, excursions, spa or something else? You might still be able to use a gift card, but you would have to call Princess to do it.
  7. Although we get the slip telling us the location and time, we haven't seen them list the menu any more post-covid.....
  8. Here's the link for downloading it or ordering it: https://www.princess.com/brochures/?track=footer&trackId=free-brochures Oops...I guess the link is for 2024/2025....
  9. Was this on the old version of the app or the new version? I would really like to be able to see this when it happens and I haven't found this in the app. It has only happened a couple of times to us, but it would be nice to see what was charged.
  10. The sodas ARE included in Plus and Premier ($60 and $80 packages). OP is apparently booking Standard fare (without Plus or Premier).
  11. If you're looking for posts about a specific ship, the easiest way to search: Go to the top of the page just under the "Princess Cruises" title. You will see: "See posts about " and a drop down to pick the ship.
  12. How long ago was this? The times we have gone, it has been pretty crowded. It might have something to do with that the appetizers have vastly improved over the last few years from what they used to be.
  13. It also reduces the number of glasses used. On the Enchanted last fall, very odd, but they kept running out of wine glasses in multiple bars. They were serving wine in tumblers......
  14. It really depends on the ship, the dining room and the server. In theory, that should be true, but we have had dinners (even for just the 2 of us) that last 2 hours.....🤷‍♀️ One option is to skip dessert if it seems to be running long.
  15. I usually buy Plus, so I'm not completely certain...I think it's $25/day, but you do have to buy it for all the days on the cruise. I just wanted to clarify that. Someone else that buys it this way can probably chime in and confirm that?
  16. You can buy JUST the WiFi for one device at $25/per day.
  17. Although this is true on Grand Class ships (excluding Emerald deck minis), I don't think it is generally true on Royal class ships.
  18. The one thought I haven't seen anyone suggest yet.... perhaps it's the airlines that are requiring this and not Princess? Maybe Princess hasn't even been following some 'rules' airline consolidators have made..... Just another thought to pour in the soup..... 🧐
  19. I think it's a good idea. Some people really scrimp and save to be able to cruise. Even though the port charges are there when they finally book, knowing the total cost upfront will help them not get too excited if it really is beyond their means. Those of us that cruise often know about the extra costs...new cruisers...maybe not so much.
  20. It is interesting that it is for just a short period of time. They must be trying it out and perhaps that is the 'slow' season....or sales of Plus/Premier are down for some reason?
  21. Got me curious. Very interesting. Sun and Star have been pulled off the site.....rumors will abound.....
  22. Our family group of 8 in February on the Sky had reservations each night for dinner. 2 of the group were younger kids and on some occasions, their parents decided it would be too much for them to go to dinner. So, on various nights, we had 4, 5 or 8 people even though our reservation was always for 8. The people at the door of the dining room told us 'no problem' and promptly seated us at the appropriate sized table.
