Question of the week. What is the average laundry turn around time when ship is close to capacity? Thanks.

Have it ready in the morning to send out & you would normally get it back the next day

November and December 2021, pricing looks pretty good.  Hopefully more new sailings soon

Found cruises on a discount travel site starting Jan 7/2022 starting in Miami to Lima Peru & sailing down the west coast of South America around the cape to Buenos Aires & sailing from there to Miami beginning Feb 23rd for a 22 night cruise .

Total of 4 cruise from Miami to Miami

  3. We too opted out of YF shot on the advice  of both our GP & the YF Travel Clinic.  Advised that due to our age & health ...the risk  of adverse reactions to the  shot outweighed the benefits. We were issued a YF exemption certificate  though.  As an aside there is also a YF serum shortage in Canada too ! But on the advice of both the Travel Clinic & GP we did get a measles shot.

Now only thing left to do is pack up the luggage...sit back & relax & enjoy the cruise !

  4. We are also on the Mar 20 TA & will not be getting the YF shot . We were on an Az cruise in 2015 from Rio to Miami & Travel clinic Dr advised against it.  We have a Certificate of Medical Contraindication to Vacccination issued by him stating ...risk of adverse event from YF vaccine outweighs any benefit.  Our health issues have not changed & we have of course  gotten older ....hence our decision to not get the shot for this  trip either. At that time it was necessary due to a port stop in French Guyana.  Note we were never asked to produce proof of vaccine or the certificate stating no vaccine . The decision as to whether or not to get is a personal decision .  As for us we opted not to .  Also as we have visited all the Brazil ports before will most likely stay onboard.

  5. Thanks Tiggertom...really confused now...my dh registered his 1 st & that is where we can not log off.  His shows different info in that it only shows menus and lcv points earned.  Today he set me up & it shows our xpass & availability  to book excursions etc.  Wonder if this is because full payment done under my booking ?  Although it does not show my lcv status ( s/b the same as my dh) & double checked lcv # for me ? On mine we can log off though ? Anyone confused yet ? Any thoughts on this ! As long as we  are registered on ship & able  to board  is really all that matters !  Lol !

Just wanted to point out that I’m in the UK and got the price on the website - don’t know whether that makes any difference.

Grandma...you may have gotten the price but you were just darn lucky ! Unfortunately  for most, Azamara pricing is all over the place ....some others have gotten  lucky too.  It shouldn’t be a game of some do & some don’t !  Very frustrating !

  8. Bonnie....we too are on the Jan 23 2020 Papetee to Auckland.  We sent our  TA a screen shot of the pricing on the Az web and her response from Azamara was that they were not honoring those prices ! We have a V1 cabin..As loyal Azamara cruisers this is very disheartening .  Why are some getting these prices honored & others not. It seems to be who you know or what rep is spoken to ! This is not right !

It must be endemic in the Azamara culture to mislead customers. The new 50% off deal started today. I have two cruises booked that are part of the promotion. I go to the web site find the cruises that are in the promotion, go to my booked cruise, at the top it says 50% off plus free WIFI. I scroll down to the pricing, add a full price and take 50% off for the second price and come up with a number that is significantly less than the original cost. I call my TA, she call Azamara they say that the cost that is on their web site is for a promotion that is no longer valid and that the cost of the cruise with the new promotion is actually MORE than my original cost.

I talk to Azamara and they tell me that even though the top of the page says 50% off and the price at the bottom of the page states a cost in USA dollars, that I can't use that cost, I must get a quote to get the cost. That cost does not pertain to the 50% off sale even though it says 50% off at the top of the page.

The web site is so misleading it makes me wonder what is happening at Azamara. Very shady. I have spent a half day on this and have only more suspicion and lack of confidence in the Azamara management.

We faced the same situation as you did.  We are in Canada and as you said the page showed as 50% off on the web site.  We too called our TA  and she got the same exact response  as yours did.  Very misleading to be sure !  And also very disappointing ! Do they not proof read before posting new deals ?  Sure would stop  all the confusion and lack of

    trust created by Azamara !

  10. With no charge until you go to the restaurant, the incentive is to make many reservations in advance just in case, as you can always cancel once onboard. Many will be shut out when trying to reserve in advance with all the placeholders. This is not a good idea.

I suspect the same phenomenon will occur with excursions now that you aren't charged at the time of booking. It will regress to the Regent process, where at midnight a specified number of days in advance, everyone tries to get into the system at the same time to beat everyone else to get their preferred specialty or excursion reservations.

Totally agree...not a good idea ! Leave things as they are !

  11. Two thoughts:

    1. As I understand it, Fabio is "stepping up" to fill in for Tomasz as F&B manager while Tomasz is "stepping up" to be Hotel Director while Philip vacations. Nathan is "stepping up" to serve as Executive Chef. This is similar to the way Ernest "steps up" from ACD to CD while Russ vacations.

    2. The Patio was open for dinner every night except White Night from March 28 through April 27.

Thanks Marinaro for the response regarding the Patio grill for dinner. We made use of it a fair bit this last cruise when wanting something a bit different and since my mobility makes buffets awkward this gives us another option. Sharon

  12. Absolutely agree with Ann,Phil and Lottie’s remarks. Azamara has certainly ruined the public spaces on deck 5 ! We always enjoyed sitting listening to the piano players , conversation with other guests and just relaxing in the Spirits area. Looks like this space will quietly disappear more or less forcing guests to the Living Room as this will soon be the only public space left. So sad ! Our little Boutique ship is no longer boutique or Country Club ! Come on Azamara you still have time to rethink this...leave well enough alone !

    Sharon

  13. Kathy, you may not like listening to live music on the ship but you did ask how many people do? The answer to that would be the vast majority of us. To sit and listen to live music, have a drink and a chat and sometimes sing along is one of the quiet pleasures of an Azamara cruise.

It is hard to find a seat in Spirits Bar most nights because of the popularity of Max and Ed. Yes there are a lot of people who read and don't post. There are a lot of Azamara cruisers who are not CC members at all, so they won't know until they board that this pleasant and valued entertainment of Azamara is no more.

Thank you Lottie. Could not have said it better myself. The live piano players and guitarists certainly add a great deal to each cruise and as you say some nights it is hard to find seating. Piped in music certainly will not work for a lot of us. Glad to see you verify that this us not a rumor but indeed fact !! Why on earth Azamara is going this route is certainly questionable ? Makes one wonder what is next on the agenda ? Trying not to lose faith in Azamara !! First time in many cruises we have not done an onboard booking or future cruise purchase !!

  14. On Quest now and just heard from a very reliable source that live piano music will be gone !! There will be piped in music in Spirits !! So sad that Azamara has decided to go this route. Thouroughly enjoyed listening to Max ,Ed, and Simon as have many others, Can not understand how Azamara seems to be abandoning their loyal cruisers enjoyment all for the sake of saving a few $$.

Also 2 pieces of the brass section are going from the orchestra. Prices have increased significantly and onboard ambiance is disappearing. Looks like a lot of us will be trying other lines. Come on Azamara you are supposed to be semi luxury if I am not mistaken, keep the pianists. Please don’t let them go the way of the harpist

  15. If that was your concern you could have booked the paid Azamara transfer at any time as opposed to asking for a free transfer no less than 5 times above...

Sorry me bad. Did not realize we could book transfers after the fact. Also did not realize there is a limit to # of times asking if the powers that be had made a decision in regards to a perfectly legitimate question. Sorry that I ruffled some feathers !🙀

  16. Forgive me but i have to say this. Thousands of people in Puerto Rico have little food and water and no jobs. Some cab drivers wasted their gas driving to the port to take passengers to the airport to make some money to feed their families and to make visiting their island easier and more normal . . . and you are asking if there is a FREE bus so none of the cab drivers will make any money again. We should all take cabs and help them out with huge tips. It's a tiny amount compared to the cruise, etc costs.

Just to respond to your statements— question was asked due to RCCI stating —in so many words that transportation was somewhat limited due to the hurricane and that they would be supplying complimentary transportation to and from port /airport until the end of December. The question was not asked to save $$ nor to deny taxi drivers making a living. Obviously things have changed in SJ since then . Differnt earlyNov. articles were being posted in regards to gas shortages and difficulty getting transportation to and from port/ airport by taxi. Some of us were concerned we would be stranded at the pier for long periods of time and perhaps would miss flights home !! As I said before this was not done to try & save $$ !!
