  1. Hi Phil

What do you think of the new menu in Aquilina? We liked the first weeks menu but on the second week we felt pairing Dover Sole with strong flavoured tomato and olive sauce and Risotto was a step too far in that you lost the delicate flavour of the sole. next time I'll order it with just a few vegetables instead - like it used to be!

Also missed the choice of Lobster, thermidor, broiled or otherwise, and the seafood platter. Souffle was up to standard though.:)

    Steve

Are they not serving broiled lobster on any menu at either prime c or Acqualina at all now !!!???? Sure hope this isn't the case!! Leaving for Rio on Tuesday for cruise from Rio to Miami and mouth is watering for the great lobster tails !!!

  2. No vaccines are required to board in Rio. We neither had received any vaccinations nor were asked about them when boarding in Rio last month. Although if your cruise hits ports in the Amazon region, maybe they are required? We sailed south to Buenos Aires, and there were no requirements for our specific itinerary.

    Michael

Thanks Micheal for your response. This is what I thought as per readingi info on CDC site also a Brazil site shows and names areas and cities reccommended or not. Canadian Health site also states no shots necessary although CDC is much better site It was a nurse/receptionist at Travel Clinic who suggested we may not be able to board ship without the shots or waiver. Probably another way for clinic to charge extra !!

Thanks Marinaro44 and Mare s. For your responses

  3. If you get a doctors letter stating that you can't have any specified vaccine due to health concerns. They usually don't require to have it. Sometimes certain countries will require it , not the cruise line.

Personally I would check with the cruise line for requirements.

Thanks Kamloops. Having TA check but just wondered if anyone who boarded recently in Rio was asked pre boarding if they had had yellow Fever vaccine.

  4. Just wondering if the yellow fever vaccine is a requirement for boarding the Journey in Rio. Our family doctor does not wish us to get this shot but travel clinic advises to ask if it is a requirement in able to board our ship and we would therefore need a waiver from clinic. Looking at CDC site it looks like it is not necessary for our ports of call. Cruise is February 19 from Rio to Miami.

    Advice would be appreciated. Thanks

    Sharon

  5. While that might help, gmail still puts what it considers spam in a spam folder as does my ISP. In addition I have an e-mail forwarder that catches spam as well.

If people are not receiving e-mails they expect to or hope to they need to be diligent in checking any spam filters on their incoming e-mails including gmail.

Assuming one is on the list for getting e-mails, putting the e-mails that Bonnie so kindly provided should help getting the e-mails to your inbox however don't be complacent as I have seen e-mails with the e-mail address in my ISP address book go to the ISP's spam filter. Unfortunately, one has to simply keep checking all of your spam filters daily.

What I don't understand is that as we receive almost daily emails from Oceana why Azamara has such a problem. Have contacted Nicole at LCV and was assured that we would now receive emails. NOT !!! It should not be that hard to set up email listings I would think !!!

  6. My husband & I love a holiday cruise. The local traditions are always fascinating to experience. But that said, I have very fond memories of the Christmas Fairs in southern Germany where I spent a few holidays way back in time. For me its special just to see SNOW during the holidays :)

SNOW !!! If you love snow try Buffalo NY or Southern Ontario !! Will be happy to send some your way to enjoy if you like.

  7. Roll call on cc is not coming up on our i pad

    Comes up as not found

Have worked around it by going into goggle and putting in roll call for Azamara Quest or Journey and that has brought it up for us

  8. I am a Celebrity cruiser considering an Azamara cruise for the first time for September 2016. I have been looking at the deck plans and with the new promotion will be able to upgrade to either the V1 or V2. To me, it looks like the V2 cabins are in the more desirable area of the ship but I must be incorrect as the V1's are a higher level category??

Can any of you who are Azamara cruisers educate me on which cabins are the most desirable and which cabins to stay away from on the Journey in either the V1 or V2 category.

Thanks in advance for any information you can give me.

    Julie

We prefer the v2 as you are near the middle of the ship

    V1 are towards the bow

Keep in mind that the laundry is beside 7076 and can be a little busy at times

  9. I have not recieved email re Le Club Voyage Ambassador. That said never recieve emails though signed up many times.

We too never receive any emails from Azamara. Have done number of

cruises with them and registered numerous times !!! Each time we get a thank you for registering , but after that , nothing.

In fact just called the US/Canada LCV telephone # and representative I spoke to said they would add us to the list !!! We will see what happens this time !!!

Perhaps they are using the ships internet and having problems connecting !!! LOL !!

  10. This has been an issue for me too and I have posted about it more than once before on this board. In addition, general communication with Azamara is terrible. I mean by that receiving any form of paper or electronic contact. I have never received a formal notification of the change of levels from last year and doubt I will get anything about this latest announcement.

There will be quarterly 10% savings offers for members as part of the new perks and I shouldn't think I will receive any personal advices of those either and I'm probably not the only one. I wonder if in putting these new benefits out there anyone has thought of that. They have had my email many times so I'm not sure what the problem is. Anyone else had the email about the changes that started going out at 10am EST yesterday?

    Phil

No E-mail communication here and we too have been registered and have re- registered many times.

  11. Joel

the biggest problem here is i left behind over 200 minutes asi hardly got on.. so even with a discount for me i might lose half the package getting on..

but in the end it is the laundry that upsets so many.

lastly i have cruises booked way out there but at 8 points a day i will not jump from 2200 or so to the next level anytime soon. so how do i get my free nights??

Certainly don't agree with comment regarding loss of laundry being the main upset. What about internet ??

  12. Not so "Azamazing"anymore. A big Thumbs Down . 👎 Disappointed at the loss of internet minutes and laundry !!

For an Up Market cruise line we seem to be given Down Market Benefits!!

Next step will probably be an increase in price for internet packages to make up for the % 's off !!!

Having done 4 previous Azamara cruises and committed to our 5 th in early 2015 will now seriously consider returning to Celebrity !!

A real disappointment , but I suppose the increase in price over the last few years and the $'s saved in the new benifits now goes towards the ships being built for RCCL and Celebrity , while the Azamara loyal guests get a kick in the butt

  13. 50% off for 2nd passenger is fine, if base price doesn't rise accordingly.

Also not so good for singles.

All these offers get very confusing, almost as much as the all inclusive.

    Confusing???

Guess if you want to make them confusing , looks quite straight forward to me!!

  14. First - we are "ex Azamarians" (started in 2009) who decided to part ways when Azamara turned even "more inclusive" (and therefore more expensive)..

Until then we cruised on both ships 6 times and loved the experience. But - as I put it when we said our goodbyes: "we just don't drink enough to justify the new prices"

So life goes on ... and (of course! ) we've found new ships to explore (we now love Celebrity and its longer cruises ).. :)

But today I was suddenly tempted to peek on what's new on Azamara.. So I noticed the ex-Black Sea cruise on the Quest (June 12ve). Nine days (better than the usual 7) and quite attractive prices (due presumably to the last minute change in Ukraine ports): $1499 pp before taxes for an OV does look tempting - doesn't it?

So imagine my amazement when I tried to make an online booking and the price for a "guaranteed OV" jumped suddenly to $ 3960 pp !! (total of $ 8200.52 with taxes).

    WOW!

    Miriam

Checked a few internet sites and that price came up as a guaranteed outside
