  1. No, I won't be studying for a test but we will like to be able to sleep after a long day of touring. I am sure that you will like to be able to have a quiet night too unless you are one of those who likes to party and keep other awake...

And since it is a port intensive cruise with tours starting at 8:00 AM and lasting until 5:00 PM, we will like to be able to be fully awake when we visit Rome, Florence and many other cities and not fall asleep when there are so many wonderful things to see.

    Thanks clarea for your input.

  2. Dear Travel R;

Thank you for a wonderful review and the extremely helpful tips.

We are also planning a Med cruise with our DD who will be 15 next year. So it really helps to read all the planning tips and advices.

I have a question concerning the Colosseum.

I don't really remember where I have read this, but apparently, kids under a certain age can visit the Colosseum for free. It is free for the EU kids and the Italian government made some changes lately to include all kids (age???).

Do you remember seeing this somewhere while you were in Rome or while you were doing your planning?

Did you have to buy tickts for your DDs?

    Thanks

  3. Dear khm1

It has been a while since I used Priceline but since they changed things, I rather not try my luck.

I followed you advice and went on Hotwire to see. I need 1 night pre-cruise on Dec 21st, 2013, checking out Dec 22nd.

We are 2 adults and one teenager.

I did what you suggest in your post regarding how to see the complete list of amenities and I think it is the Concha Renaissance.

    Here is the aminities:

Accessible for deaf (TTY for phone...)

    Accessible bathroom (raised toilet....)

    handicaped parking (handicaped parking available)

    Is it the Concha Renaissance?

The rate per night is $125.85

Tax and recoverycharge and fees: $23.31

    Total: $149.16

Is there a resort fee on top of the total?

    is it around 14-16%?

How do I get a room for 3 or Hotwire only has room for 2?

I am sorry if I ask all these questions but I have never used Hotwire before and since we need a date during high season, if we can save a few $ it will be great.

    Thanks for your help

    Stefanny

  4. Sorry to ask again, but I wanted to be sure before bidding on Priceline.

I saw the betterbidding Priceline hotels list on their website. There is a fee for the resorts(Marriott, Intercontinental, Conrad, etc).

Is there only one 4* hotel in San Juan on Priceline? the Concha?

So does it means that if it is the hotel that I want, I should check area8 and 4* and keep bidding until I get it?

Does this hotel also charge a resort fee?

    Thanks

  5. We need 1 night pre-cruise and also one night post cruise but we are a family or 3 (Dec 22nd and Dec 30th).

I was thinking of trying Priceline (area 8, resort) but I am not sure that the resorts/hotels will accommodate 3 in their room.

I have also checked Hotwire for Dec 22nd, and it is showing a 4* with these amenities (casino, smoke free room, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed internet, golf nearby and spa services).

Does anyone know which hotel is it?

Should I just try Priceline and then call the resort to see if we could get 2 beds?

    Thanks
