Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. My wife and I did 150CP twice. The first time isn't wasn't very good and we then skipped it for several years but gave it another try on our last cruise we thought is was the best specialty meal we had so it may just depend on the night/menu.
  2. I went to Coco Beach Club two cruises ago but not on the last cruise. The last time I went I think I got it for around $80pp. At that price, I would consider it worth it (my opinion). You're really paying for a nicer lunch and a slightly nicer beach area. At $200+PP I wouldn't do it. My last cruise prices were well over $160pp and I decided not to do it. On my last cruise, I found a great spot (chairs w/ an umbrella) near the water, and the free lunch was very good in my opinion. There were a ton of options and the quality was great. I was also there with two ships and worried about the crowding but we just got off early and found our spot and had a GREAT day without any additional cost. As others have said, value is in the eye of the beholder but in my opinion for Coco Beach Club the price would have to be under $100pp for me to consider.
  3. In the past I have also connect my laptop via HDMI cable and used a universal remote to change the inputs. To my surprise on my last cruise on Odyssey (Jun '22) the RCI software on the TV had a "Casting" option. So once connected to the ships wifi I was able to cast content from my phone (Netflix, other) to the TV and while it did have a disconnect or two overall it worked pretty well. Not sure if this option is rolled out widely yet so I'd be curious if other ships and sailings have seen this option.
  4. Did this on my last cruise on Odyssey (June) and they filled a bucket of ice to keep them cold. They even let me choose different beers if I wanted.
  5. That is very interesting as we prefer Jamie's to Giovanni's. It may be when you go or just personal preference. Personally I've had a GREAT meal at Giovanni's and another time I went I didn't enjoy it. I would agree that the Filet is excellent and was recommended by the staff. I was surprised thinking that would be best a Chops but will admit it was fabulous at G's. My recommend, listen to wait staff, they really know what is good and what people are enjoying. Bottom line to the original poster, you can't go wrong with either. It really depend on whether you want Italian or Japanese food. Both are excellent in my opinion.
