  1. You didn't say what ship you are on, but if it's the Koningsdam be aware that you can't punch a hole in the key card because that would mess up the RFID. Use one with a pouch. That's what I use on all ships.

I just got off the Koningsdam two weeks ago. I brought some wristlets from the dollar store and took our cards to Guest Services. They punched holes in them and they worked perfectly fine for the entire cruise. :)

  2. If the diners were my guests then the charge should be reflective of my status. If I only made the reservations, and each cabin was paying their own way, then I would expect that their charges would be reflective of their status as well.

  3. Thanks for your input "boards"!

MaxeyMom, thank you! I very much appreciate that information. (MM and I were on the same cruise.)

I am eager for the information to be posted because it will have a bearing on my future cruise decisions... and I would like those decisions to be within the timeframe to take advantage of the ZPM promo. I am also interested to see whether my casino experiment produced any results.

I did submit an inquiry to the Mariner Society via their link so I will post the results once I receive a response.

  4. Ugh!

If you take longer HAL cruises you have a much better chance of not seeing anything like this. Panama, Hawaii, SA, Asia, South Pacific. The worst we saw was a seriously talkative beer drinker who walked around ALL day with a beer in hand and button-holed everyone in sight.

    Please reconsider HAL!

This was a 15 day TA. And I had to google button-holed. lol

  5. This is disgusting. Was this in the dining room? Speakers and plants? Where?

The plant was in The Retreat. The speaker and deck were on the deck overlooking The Retreat. I dread to think what else was happening around the ship. The first two were men. The deck was a woman. What has been seen cannot be unseen. :loudcry:

  6. In the MDR there were people in shorts, t-shirts, and flip flops on the Koningsdam gala nights in October. There were also people spitting into plants and speakers and onto the deck itself. It has really made me question whether I will continue with this line. I am hopeful this was an anomaly.

  7. They had dance lessons in the Queen's Lounge on our recent Koningsdam TA. One was line dancing, which everyone really enjoyed. I also thought I saw ballroom dancing but will need someone else to confirm that because I was down for the count for most of the crossing. :loudcry:

  8. I would keep my fingers crossed for the planets to align and have a backup plan in hand. My first plan would be to catch a flight to Nassau or Eleuthra and get a ferry or private transfer to Half Moon Cay. We know the staff live off the island somewhere! You could maybe catch a ride in with them. Now that would be an adventure. lol

My second plan would be to fly to Aruba. Speak with HAL to confirm and keep their number handy as blizzardboy suggests. In December we had a number of people board at one of our ports a few days later due to weather delays.
