  1. My 90 days were up so I was allowed to go in and make my reservations. Once I was done, I have logged back in a few times and cannot find my reservations. Where do find them??

Just a thought. Did you go to the payment screen and accept the payment for $0.00? We did ours Saturday and it would not show until we did that.

  2. Too bad NCL could not even keep the 4 piece box. It really could not have cost them that much ... and now adding the payment of gratuities for Suite Perks to fare,

I guess there was not much backlash. With removal of Suite amenities we had in the past, the decision of continuing to sail Suites is no longer our first choice. I think NCL is trying to see where the threshold or pushback from their loyal Suite guests will be.

I do not think the gratuities for the UBP and UDP were ever listed as a suite perk. They were just a long standing promo that ran its course. We still receive the same perks for suites we received 10 years ago in the suites we have sailed.

  3. If you are two in a room it could be viewed as a gain, if you are solo looks like a definite gain. 3 or more ppl per room w status and it's a loss. I think asking why per room instead of per guest is at minimum a fair and legitimate question. Usually what I encounter is perks are per person and discounts per room.

I am reading that it is kinda per guest with status. Every guest platinum or above receives 1 dinner each at 2 restaurants. It's just that they put the first two together. If there is 3 in the cabin the third guest receives a card as a solo, but still gets the dinners.

  4. It seems it is for 2 meals.

    From the FAQ:

Can I still split the dinner for two vouchers if I am a solo traveler (two meals for one person)?

No, this benefit is delivered as two dinners for two per stateroom. Solo travelers get two dinners for one. You cannot split the voucher in to two separate vouchers and redeem the dinners on two separate evenings. The benefit is only if there are two guests dining on the same visit.

I do think they changed the program it as the FAQ questions are all messed up and answer the question both ways in regards to what the OP was stating. It is in multiple places that it is per stateroom regardless of how many Platinums (and above) are in the room. I think NCL finally got this right thankfully.

If you want to have some fun, call NCL and ask about these FAQs. I called yesterday. We had to laugh because I pointed out the FAQ and she said that they didn't even know it was listed. The customer service agent was very cute and nice. She asked her supervisor and she said she did know about it. It was an experience. She said that she would check it out and thanked me.

  5. That is most certainly not true. See the highlighted section from the latitudes chart.

    Also from the FAQ:

I am traveling with other Platinum, Platinum Plus or Ambassador guests in the same stateroom? Do we each get a voucher?

No. If there are 2 Platinum, Platinum Plus or Ambassador members in one stateroom, only one Welcome Back Card will be delivered. This gives the correct number of Dinner for Two vouchers the guests are entitled to.

For 3rd and 4th Platinum, Platinum Plus or Ambassador members in the same stateroom, an additional Welcome Back Card will be delivered.

If there is only a 3rd Platinum, Platinum Plus or Ambassador member in the same stateroom, an additional Welcome Back Card will be delivered but this guest will be treated as a solo traveler who get one dinner only. The benefit is only if there are 2 guests dining on the same visit.

I will say that I do not remember that last paragraph. It might be an update as I remember a number of people saying it is unfair as each person had individual earned their status. So I will say that even getting 1 dinner is better than the 0 that I thought additional platinums would get.

But the poster said the other platinum passengers in the cabin were SOL and that was not true. And the FAQ said that an additional voucher would be delivered to 3 or more platinum passengers. What is not clear is if they will be given 2 cards for 1 dinner or 1 card for 1 dinner. Maybe someone can clarify this who has gone recently. I saw this posted at least a month or so ago.

  6. From the chastising above we are in the minority but I raised this point in February. I will be honest as this doesn't affect us as we only sail as a couple but by taking away the per person and making it stateroom you are potentially devaluing a loyal customer. Now if there are 3-4 platinums in a room you are drawing straws as to who gets to use the coupons. The other parties are just SOL.

Not true. Check out the FAQ latitudes on the NCL website. It states every platinum member gets vouchers for 1 dinner at 2 restaurants.

  7. I absolutely disagree - here we go again basing opinions on other peoples remarks.

The guy is fantastic and at the end of a very long contract. Do you work 7 days a week for 6 months constantly bombarded with guests and issues to solve. He like all the others is human and if you have a problem keep it to yourself or tell NCL! end of!!

I know I will get a lot of flack over this post but it really is time that we stop attacking individuals or making any negative remarks about them as they can not defend themselves.

I wonder what they would write about you or your friends if the could.

If you think Stefan is the best HD you ever cruised with let me tell you that you have not cruised often with NCL.

He may good but there are plenty better.

I will speak about Omar first hand. We sailed with him in February on the Jade and am disappointed that he might be there when we sail again in November on the Jade. We found him to be nice, but gave all of his attention to the Haven Suites. We were discussing the cruise with some fellow 2 bedroom suite cruisers ( 2 cabins, same family) and they did not even know who he was and what he did. We saw him 3 times, when we boarded, when we asked about priority seating for suites (he said it was only for Haven) and when we got off the ship. He did stop by our cabin a few times and left a note. It was always dinner time so we never saw him. We called him once to have him change reservations for dinner and he put us off to an assistant.

Point is I am not really bad mouthing him. He just was not as great with us as he was with some people. Maybe they were Haven guest and that why they got better service.

  8. Not funny or humors - the room steward shunting his duties elsewhere should be reported to the Housekeeping

Supervisor. Urine left to fester renders bad smells later in the voyage and takes more effort to remove.

And what about other cruisers roaming the halls side stepping into that ?

At the very minimum flag it with a cone for a maintenance crew to attend to.

Disgusting to say the least !

Hey DeputyDawg get out your DNA and CSI kit - track this scoundrel down.

The thread was about weirdest, not the funny or humorous. I do not think he thought it was funny, just strange.

  9. We will be sailing next year on the Jade. I couldn't find anywhere on Norwegian's website that broke things down by ship (unless I want to look at deck plans). Can anyone tell me what sorts of things there are to do for a 13 year old boy (who absolutely will not go to a kids club of any sort).

I see on some of the ships there are waterslides, bowling alleys, etc. What is on the Jade?

    Thanks for any help.

They removed the slide before upgrade in March. I was on the Jade in February this year and they took it down the week before. Never seen a bowling alley. The only think I can think of is the arcade. Did not go there so not sure how good it was. Other that the pool, I would think not much for him to do besides that kids club.

  10. Yes but I don't know that I would spend the $500 OBC. We don't gamble, so no Casino, and may only go on a few excursions that we would have to book thru NCL in order to use the OBC. That is my problem. I don't know that I would use the $500 and then would lose it (I assume it would be non-refundable since it would be considered non-cash). I don't want to be locked in to another cruise by using it on certificates.

I could certainly use it in the shops. I am hoping you can still use it for the butler and concierge, room steward. Bingo, Deal or no deal or those days that they have to $10 sale. It would be fun to spend it.

  11. I have booked and already paid for (please no lectures on the value of waiting to pay in full vs. ahead of time; I am aware I lost some interest on the money I could have earned by waiting) a 20th Anniversary cruise in March 2019 for an OS. When I booked the cruise it was before they started charging the 18% of the value of the meal and drink plans. Currently the cost of the same cruise is $223.92 higher than it was when I booked due to the inclusion of the 18% fees. However, now they are offering $500 OBC, which they were not offering when I originally booked. My wife and I do not gamble at all and will probably book a couple of excursions (3) at the most.

Now for the question. Should I cancel/re-book the cruise or just leave as is? Basically I would be spending $223.92 cash for $500 OBC (non-cash I assume). Thanks in advance for everyone's input/suggestions.

I booked a cruise for December 2018 in March 2017 and soon after they added the OBC promo. I just called the customer service number, gave the agent my reservation number and they added the OBC. Would not hurt to call and ask.

  12. Exactly, so you are penalized for traveling with other frequent travelers...We (3 platinum members) are staying in a 2 bedroom suite in September. Are we to pull names from a hat to see who actually receives the "loyalty benefits"?...Since for one of us it will be their first cruise at platinum (although we all had to work just as hard to get there), we will likely feel guilty if we don't allow them to use the dinners. Food for thought. For a long time I have been hesitant to travel on other lines because I enjoyed being recognized as a return guest. Now, I am more open to the idea. Many of the other benefits are already included with Haven Suites, so the dinners were one of the only benefits that counted. It may sound silly that we are willing to spend the extra to upgrade but are bummed about the free dinner, but it was a nice gesture that we appreciated.

Thank you Norwegian for convincing me that it is a good idea to try other cruise lines.

Check the FAQs on the website for latitudes. It states that the 3rd person in the cabin that is platinum will get a voucher for 1 dinner for 2 nights.

  13. I think the speciality restaurant staff are not included in the DSC hence the 18% gratuity charge. Now I also know that suites until recently did not pay that 18%, however there is a higher DSC for suites and I would think that covers the staff in the haven restaurant. Just my opinion.

  14. We were on a Carnival cruise with a group of our friends. Our best friends were next door and put out the room service card for just coffee and pastries. Someone came along and filled out the whole card doubled and it was delivered. It was trays and trays of food including capers. They were dumbfounded and dropped a whole tray in their room. Capers and eggs everywhere. He swore it was my husband, but he was wrong.

  15. They do. I had an awful experience with it. The rep was totally incompetent. I still have her name. Wanted to determine what room delivered foods were included and what's extra before The cruise and then order from that info. She couldn't ever find out what was extra and what was included and what prices were. Made sure in emails we did not get anything extra until we knew the cost and when we got on all of the items we inquired about were delivered and ordered to the tune of several hundreds of dollars. SEVERAL. Luckily we rectified it first day through a lot of work through concierge and Butler on board but got it cleared up. Be careful these folks or this one representative was not knowledgeable didn't return calls and emails and didn't know a lot nor could she get the information. Be careful unless you have a lot of spending money on board then by all means the sky is the limit.

What in the world did you inquire about? Our letter only listed pillows and such.

  16. On our last trip on the Getaway, and old man I would guess to be in is late 80's took his swim shorts off right in front of us walking from the buffet. Thank god his had his back to us. I would not have wanted to be on the other side.
