I guess I don’t really understand why people obsess about whether a ship has just been refurbished or not. I’ve been on 1 Oceania cruise, and it was a wonderful experience. I didn’t spend any time at all looking at the carpet to look for wear patterns, or watching for scuff marks on the walls. I was too busy having fun!

It’s not just refurbishment. « With changes so sweeping that the cruise line calls it a “re-inspiration” rather than a renovation, Oceania Cruises will be making a $100 million dollar investment over the next two years in its four Regatta-Class ships —Regatta, Insignia, Nautica, and Sirena. These changes are part of an ambitious multi-year project that the line has named OceaniaNEXT. « So I can understand the question from the OP. I am supposed to cruise on board Nautica in May/ June 2023 just before her dry dock for oceaniaNext. Not a big deal but frankly speaking would appreciate that dry dock happens before!

Hard to believe that two fully vaccinated passengers tested positive.  They are apparently not sick (symptom free).  I’m curious to hear any follow-up.  Could they have been exposed while in one of the ports?  We’re booked on Riviera in January and I’m not reluctant to go.   Maybe I’m just too desperate to resume sailing😁

Vaccines do not prevent from getting the virus. They prevent from being seriously ill. There is no surprise here. The 90-95% efficacy is regarding the risk of going to the hospital or in intensive care. You will see many people contracting the virus while being fully vaccinated. This is normal. What would be an issue is seeing many vaccinated people in intensive care or dying from the virus.

Ships that are scheduled to embark in South Africa or Australia/New Zealand (or elsewhere with major Covid restrictions/concerns) have little if any chance of cruising until second quarter 2022.

And thus do you think it will give time to upgrade the Nautica before resuming sailing or the upgrade will take place after June 2023?

    How  does that work?

Oceania  does not have  a  ship  called Serenity?

As for the OCCC  agent ..google is your friend

Sorry my mistake. I am sure you have understood I made a confusion between Oceania and Crystal! I wanted to mention Nautica. Sorry about that.

Look at Regatta and Nautica itineraries and you’d know why the delay in restart.

Can you be more specific please. Do you mean that the refurbishment will take place before these ships resume sailing?

But you can get both. We've booked with an O agent at a nice price and then transferred it to a travel agent who gave us the gratuities.

I have just booked a 40 day cruise aboard Serenity from Singapore to Barcelona May/June 2023 directly with Oceania. I have tried to find a Travel Agent who could offer some additional perks like OBC or paid gratuities but the few I have been able to contact in Switzerland are unable to offer any thing beyond what O gave me already. I know that it is not allowed to share any Travel agent details on this forum but for example do you know where I could find a list of the so called Oceania Cruise Connoisseur Club? Thanks in advance.

Any Intel out there on the Nautica return to service and her refurbishment update? ( Oceania “Next”). Very curious that all other ships, except the Regatta also, have had a return to service notice.

As far as I know, should be June 2023 after its Singapore Barcelona cruise (I will be on board). I wish the refurbishment be earlier...

  8. I am booked on the FLL LIM cruise December 2 to 18, 2021 aboard Silver Dawn and feel less and less confident. But so many things can change in a 6-month time frame. Remember what was the health situation 6 months ago end of November 2020!

do not take your bottle of rum to the dining venues & expect  to just pay the corkage fee 😉

Why? Am I going to pay more? I thought that I would pay 25$ once and then they would keep my bottle and I can empty it over several days.

  10. I have 2 quick questions please :

1/ I have read that we are authorized to bring 6 bottles on board. Does it apply whatever the length of the cruise is? I will be onboard the Nautica for 40 days which is two 20-day segments. In that case can I bring 12 bottles or at least 6 bottle at the start of the cruise and then 6 other bottles at the start of the second segment?

2/ once on board, does the corkage fee of 25$ apply when drinking our own alcool outside on the deck not in a restaurant or bar?

    thanks.

If you can see the tours as available to purchase in your account for that cruise, you can purchase them now (or at least do the cart exercise). You can also call O directly- even if you’ve booked with a TA and they’ll do the math (I sometimes do this as a double-check).

Thank you, They are not available at the moment. I got a price estimate by taking the same shore excursions for earlier cruises.

If you have selected O Life tours as your perk and place your tour preferences in the O web  “cart” for your cruise (along with any OE/OS/etc), it will assign $0 to the most expensive allowable O Life tours in your allotment and put the retail price next to the non-allowed ones. The cart will also let you know how many other tours may be needed for the YWYW discount and figure that in if you check the button for YWYW (the bottom line price will then adjust for YWYW).

You can then print your selection math (without purchasing anything) and you’ll see that you are being charged for any non-OE/OS etc. tours >$199.

Thanks. My concern is that my cruise is only in 2023 so I think I cannot do what you suggest. Am I correct?

The  KUL-003   I am seeing has  the OS designation  so not part of the  O Life  included tours

You could  do KUL -002 or KUL -001

    Sorry my mistake. Let's take Jerusalem excursions HFA-005, 009, 010, 012. They are all priced @ 177 € (215 USD).

There is no price limit  but generally the  ones  part of the  O Life offerings are  under $200  mark

If you find one that is not in the excluded list  then  it will be part of the Olife deal

When I look  it shows in CAD  so prices are over the  $200 mark   😉

Thanks. May I give you 1 example? In Kuala Lumpur, shore excursions KUL-003 "Kuala Lumpur - The garden City". Price is 186€ which is around 225 USD. And I have seen several excursions in Jerusalem (ASH-002, 003, 005, 007) priced at 177€ (215 USD). So you think I could choose them within my Olife package?

    3) Shore excursions. These have a potential value as you pay $100/per O Life excursion and can get ones up tp $199. If, however, you plan doing most things on your own, you do not need shorex's but cruise only.

So if you are interested in the number of excursions that are part of O Life - get it. If you are doing everything on your own, get cruise only.

I have just booked my first Oceania cruise. I have read several time that the price limit for a shore excursion to be part of the Olife option is $199. But I cannot find this criteria on Oceania website. I have read that the following shore excursions are excluded (Oceania Select, Oceania Exclusive, Executive Collection, Food & Wine Trails, Wellness Discovery Tours by Aquamar, Go Local, and Culinary Discovery Tours), but nothing regarding a price limit. So my question is simple : if I see a shore excursion that is not among the excluded shore excursion by nature, but whose price is higher than $199, I should consider that I cannot go for it?

Welcome to an American cruise line.  We are a little more flexible and less literal in our communication, and that was what you experienced with your Oceania advisor.  You will see on the menu above that there are 5 categories of what we broadly call “wines” on the drink menu.  All 5 are included in the package.  You will note that no category is simply called “wine”.  But they all contain the word “wine”.  I hope that helps you.

Thank you! But as far as I can see, Champagne is clearly indicated as a separate item from red or white wine. That's the reason why I am wondering whether it is part of the wine and beer package. I guess it makes sense and my question is still relevant! Anyway I am not an English-speaking guy thus I will not argue on that any further. My only concern is to make sure I can get a glass of champagne should I opt for the standard package which seems to be the case following both answers I got. Thanks again.

  17. I have just booked my first Oceania cruise aboard Nautica for May 2023. It is still a long time to go. I have a question regarding champagne : is it really included in the standard house select drink package? Because my Oceania cruise advisor tells me that this package only includes wine and beer. Thanks for your clarification.
