  1. The link you provided shows “not secure” any idea why?
  2. We’re on Pearl to Bermuda the week after you. We did this cruise last year on 04/15 and the weather was gorgeous…mid 70’s to 80 degrees every day. All weather apps and the ship’s daily program all predicted temps in the 60’s. We were very happy they were wrong as we went to the beach and in the water 2 of our 3 days there. Hoping for similar weather this year. FWIW April is our favorite time of the year to visit Bermuda. We’ve done it many times and had great weather.
  3. The only places I’m seeing this announcement so far are on social media forums and CC. Cannot find any information about the update on NCL’s site or by doing a simple google search. We’re cruising 04/07/2023 and would expect an email to be sent if this is indeed happening effective 04/01/2023.
  4. You didn’t have a video to watch during your check in? It’s a little over a minute long. I checked in Friday for a 04/07/2023 sailing and had to watch that video but I just figured they forgot to remove it from the check in process.
  5. Wow, I agree. We visited Ocho Rios on our Jan cruise also but we did a tour and our guide was great…he really kept the vendors away from us. He wanted us to love his country you could tell it mattered to him. The sales people at Diamond’s International in that port looked like mob bosses. lol I couldn’t believe the people on our excursion that were spending thousands of dollars on jewelry there. I don’t get it. I would never trust that.
  6. We’re the same way especially with the credit card. We had our CC number stolen at a restaurant in Playa del Carmen one time and by the time we got home they had purchased over $12k worth of round trip airfares. We know exactly what restaurant it was stolen at as it was the only place we used it. Our bank reversed the charges but they couldn’t do anything about the air tickets. It bothered me that they got away with it but at least we had our money back. Now we only carry a very low limit CC. A lady on our ship excursion in Colombia in January had her iPhone 14pro stolen right in front of all of us. She asked someone to take a picture, vendors surrounded her and the lady took off with her phone. I felt so bad for her as she said it was her lifeline. People in some of these ports are desperate after not having cruise ship tourists for two years because of Covid. We’re at the point where we’d rather stay on board instead of getting off in these ports.
  7. Hi I’m trying to help a friend just off Seascape. She realizes this may be a long shot but maybe someone will find it since it appears to still be where she lost it.
  8. Personally I don’t even wear my real Diamond wedding set when I travel. I leave them in the safe at home. I have a CZ set that is much smaller and less expensive that I always wear whenever traveling out of the country. The last thing I want to do is draw attention to my jewelry while in some of these less than safe ports.
  9. Yes we did see them on New Years Eve and many evening gowns. It reminded me of our cruises many years ago when people really got dressed up on elegant nights. I do think it was because it was a New Years Eve sailing though.
  10. Wow not exactly comforting considering we’re on an all Bermuda itinerary from Boston in a few weeks.
  11. Glad you’re having a nice cruise! Love the overnights in OC it’s my favorite!
  12. lol true! Fingers crossed for you on the bid and the casino! 🤞😉
  13. We purchased food in ports and carried it on the ship without issues. As long as it’s packaged you can bring it on. No fresh fruit or vegetables.
  14. We cruise on April 7th on Pearl. When I do a mock booking for our sailing it is showing Club Balcony and Haven as being sold out however I’m still able to bid on Haven rooms. That doesn’t make any sense to me at all. Last year we were notified 3 days before our cruise that we won our bid. The ship was only 60-70% full last year though.
  15. They tend to have the same theme nights on all of their cruises (depending on the length of the cruise of course) There is always a white night even on the shorter cruises. We did a 10 day and 4 day back to back so there were 2 white nights on our 14 day itinerary Unfortunately MSC isn’t great about communicating this to guests before their cruise so they don’t get a lot of participation (except white night.)
  16. Exactly why I asked if they had it in writing…meaning in the cruise contract. I don’t trust anything a phone rep tells me. If it’s not in writing the OP is out of luck sadly.
  17. Did the cruise before yours happen to visit Colombia? If so that’s most likely the reason why you were delayed boarding. Hope things get better and you can enjoy your cruise!
  18. Sorry this happened to you. I’ve never booked air through any cruise line so I’m curious. Do you have it in writing that they will guarantee to get you to the ship if you miss a connection?
  19. @CILCIANRQTS you’re right there are quite a few folks who believe if they book air through the cruise line that the ship will wait for them if they’re late or will pay for them to meet the ship at the next port. I see posts about it many times a week on other social media sites. We always fly in at least 2-3 days before our cruise. The older I get the less I care about saving a few bucks. It’s all about convenience and having control of my vacation.
  20. Cruised Pearl from Boston last April and the Haven waiting area is still awful. It is a very small corner near the restrooms with too few chairs to accommodate everyone that needs one. We’ll be leaving on Pearl again on 04/07/2023 and we’re hoping they’ve gotten their act together as far as boarding goes. Last year it was impossible to keep those of us in suites/the Haven separated from others who did not have priority boarding. It was like a free for all because the ladies who were trying to control it couldn’t. People wanted on the ship and they ignored the fact that Suites and Haven pax had priority over them. We’ve left from Boston many many times since we live in RI we have taken advantage of being within driving distance to this port but it is the most disorganized port we leave from. I’ll let you know how it goes on April 7th!
  21. Itinerary and we prefer the older ships on every cruise line
