  1. MSC doesn’t allow any beverages including water to be brought on board. It is my understanding that if you are all in the same stateroom the children get the age appropriate package. Water bottles are included in the drink packages.
  2. We recently saw that one as well. It’s such a sad story for someone who was so full of sunshine.
  3. That was my hope to bring attention to that. Thanks Morpheus!

    MSC 2023?

I thought you meant Carnival’s ship Fantasy one of the first ships we took our kids on 30 yrs ago lol I was thinking a LOT has changed since then!
  5. Thought I would share this heartfelt obituary for a man who touched so many lives in his short life. May he rest in the most glorious peace. https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/name/gene-young-obituary?id=48175792
  6. I guess it depends on how many are in their group. It wouldn’t be easy to just take over the music on the pool deck or in a lounge when NCL already provides entertainment in those places. The YC is sold out maybe that’s where they all are. Keep them in that area and they won’t impact the rest of the ship.
  7. Oh boy! I’m surprised they haven’t blocked me yet! 😎
  8. I’ve asked multiple times on their FB ads how big their group charter is. I keep getting ignored. lol
  9. I think you’ve got almost everything sorted out except who’s on 1st?🤔🤭
  10. Oh wow. I think I would go if you’ve already bought the tickets for the show.
  11. Great advice! I need to stop thinking that everyone’s intentions are honorable 🤦🏻‍♀️
  12. From experience as we had our grandson (then 8 yrs old) with us last April on Pearl. We made a reservation for 3. When we arrived at Teppanyaki the hostess asked our room number and told us what the charge would be based on what she saw on her computer. We did not have any specialty dining included on that cruise so it was $210 or 70X3 Next month we’re going on the same cruise. This time we have specialty dining for me and my husband at 2 places. So we expect to be charged $70 for our now 9 yr old grandson. I suspect OP arrived at the restaurant, gave his room #, was told he had 2 free meals and that he would be charged $70 for the 3rd person, at which time a discussion happened which resulted in upsetting his poor daughter. So to the OP If it’s not about the money, you pay the price and walk into the restaurant. Whether or not you all can finish the food that is on your plate really doesn’t matter. At the end of the day was it worth arguing with them over $70 and a crying teen? Heck no!!
  13. They didn’t follow protocol once she turned 13 if you weren’t charged at Teppanyaki for her meal. This is directly from NCL’s site. It clearly states what the policy is and even shows a pic of Teppanyaki. Note it says restaurants with a show aren’t included. It sounds like you guys got lucky and received something you weren’t supposed to in the past. In these financially difficult times that NCL is experiencing, they will probably be more vigilant about enforcing their own policies which they did in your last experience there. But for $70 she should have eaten what you guys ate not just be charged that for a burger. That part is nuts.
  14. Have you decided whether or not you’re going yet?
  15. So the group is planning it without NCL’s knowledge? Wow Either the group is very bold or NCL is full of bologna.
  16. We have 2 nights for the first 2 passengers at a Specialty restaurant included with our April cruise on Pearl We are bringing our 9 yr old grandson with us and fully intend to pay the $70 for him to eat his meal. I wouldn’t expect him to order off the kid menu while we enjoy the “fruits of the grill” and honestly he can eat as much as me at those places. Expecting a 15 yr old to be able to order off the kid’s menu anywhere, on land or sea, is just setting yourselves up for disappointment. Being charged $70 for the burger is really the only issue I see and it sounds like you got the charge taken care of.
  17. I find it relevant because of my own personal experience with this. Our MSC European cruise was very different from our 2 MSC US departures. All 3 on the same ship. In Europe the ships are constantly loading and unloading passengers at every port…some have correctly called it a “ferry cruise ship” That doesn’t happen on the cruises that depart from the US. So if you are unlucky as we were in January, and you have a few thousand less than stellar fellow passengers, that means you and the crew are stuck with them for 7-10 days until they get off. Also there is a very different passenger demographic on US departures especially from Miami, which negatively impacted us and the crew. I can understand why the crew may not want to “engage” with some of the passengers on a negative level, ie enforcing company policies.
  18. I’ve not known Morpheus to ever “stir the pot”, in fact just the opposite. His posts always have a “glass half full” tone to them. Just curious, of your 7 YC cruises when was the last cruise you cruised in the YC from a US port?
  19. Our takeaway from 14 days on Divina was MSC seems to have a number of “policies” that they’re not enforcing. Examples-adult aft pool one lifeguard was great at policing the chair hogs who put towels out and thought they could leave for 2 hrs and their towels would still be on their chairs when they returned. He took them off after 30 min. Same pool different lifeguard didn’t care and wouldn’t remove towels even when people pointed out chairs that were empty for hours. Main pool no policing of chair hogs at all Main pool hottubs on our first 10 days of the B2B absolutely no drinks in the hottubs. Second part of B2B youngins ordering drinks from the hottub before we even embarked. When waiter was questioned about that he shrugged his shoulders. MSC has a management problem. The guidance is in place but their management team isn’t always enforcing that guidance. That’s a problem outside of YC and it’s sadly made its way into the YC from what we’re reading on this thread.
  20. It’s not easy to get into the YC you need a key card/bracelet to even access that area. I’m sure some people try to sneak in behind YC pax who swipe their key and hold the door for pax behind them. It never occurred to us when we were in the YC that folks we were holding the door for may not belong there. I guess I think everyone is as honest as we are. It appears that some crew members are getting their visiting family access to the YC.
  21. Honestly that YC Director doesn’t sound qualified to handle his duties of managing the YC. Imagine getting on a flight and sitting in first class when you’ve paid for coach and refusing to move. Pretty sure you’d be escorted off that flight. I’m so tired of the leniency given to people who break the rules. We’re so afraid of offending someone even when they are in the wrong. That’s disgusting and unacceptable. That director should be reported.
  22. 😂 I’m in a similar situation except I’m the one that’s retired! *Planning vacations is a full time job! 😬
  23. This is a shame. The one chance I have of getting my husband on another MSC ship in the future is to book the YC. I hope this isn’t going to be the norm going forward. @morpheusoftheseaare you still on board?
