  1. I was on the Regal the week before and the food in the MDR

was very. My last 2 cruises were on the Celebrity Eclipse and Royal's Allure. The food on the Regal was excellent in comparison to both these ships. Did you try the specialty restaurant or the buffet? Also very good.Sorry your meals weren't good.

  2. Thanks for your review. I was on the same cruise and loved the Regal-beautiful new ship. My last 3 cruises were on the Celebrity Eclipse and the Allure. So it was great to come home to Princess. I had the same cabin type and agree with your comments. I really liked the new flat screen tv's and the great movie selection. Just needed more time to see more.

I too enjoyed the shows and comedians. The casino was very good to me. on the second night and paid for most of my cruise. I thought dinner in the MRD was very good. I ate one night in the buffet and one night in the Crown Grill excellent! I thought all of the deserts and pastries were better than what I have eaten on any cruise ship, I did splurge & purchased a seat in the Sanctuary in the sun. Not very crowded but the manager was strict and would not allow anyone to change chairs. The best sun chairs come with the cabanas and they were always empty. They served high tea at 3:30 and it was wonderful. It is located next to the adult pool which is convenient for a quick swim. There is a bathroom in the Sanctuary which was a plus.

Really enjoyed IC, Vines, Alfredo's, Crooners, the Trident Grill. Didn't get to try the new seafood bar and a few other bars. I thought they really pushed the wine tasting. Almost forgot to mention the Winemakers Dinner. It was fabulous and well worth the $40. Everyone loved Loftsi our host who thoroughly explained the wine pairings and awesome dinner. The desert was so decadent we asked to meet the pastry chef

    Who we applauded.

Sorry I wanted to add a few other sentences.

Enjoyed the ship instead going to Princess Cays. We docked at Haven Sight and did a little shopping there. Went to the Orient beach, Margot, and Grand Case for lunch. We hired a taxi and had a great day. The cruise was too short! Needed more time to see and do everything on the ship. Can't wait to book another cruise on the Regal.

Embarkation arrived at 11 -10 mins checked in on the ship by noon. Platinum line went quickly. I was off the ship by 8:45-in the shuttle by 9am. I spent one night pre cruise at Embassy Suites and it was fine. Used their shuttle $8 to get to the port. Quick & simple. L

  4. I think that the above is a good idea. It is a LARGE ship, and a long walk to the dinning rooms. I got off Regal on Sunday. We were in E323, and that was a long walk for us to the aft part of the ship.

    PS

A beautiful ship with great food.

So glad you enjoyed the ship & the food was great. I think I will call my TA tomorrow to see if there is a closer cabin to the elevator . Hope you 'll be cruising again soon!

    Thanks

  5. As others have posted on other threads if another cabin in that same category is available you can asked to be moved. Check and see if there are any others a bit closer to center. It might be only a few cabins but it might make you feel better. :) You didn't say where you were cruising or when but if in season I don't think you will be bothered. We have had cabins in a similar location and we were fine.

    Thanks!

  6. I was on the Royal two weeks ago. I love the Sanctuary, so I headed right up there. There was some confusion. Some had dialed #138 and reserved. Others just went up there to book directly. Marko, the steward captain, would take the couples who called first. I could have booked for the 10 days, but I am glad I did not. It was very windy up there and I was not feeling great. If you wanted to book for the day, you had to call 24 hours in advance.

With that said, I did book one day and it was wonderful. I also chatted with Marko, and he said if I wanted to come back, even if they were full, he would try to squeeze me in ( I am pretty small ;)). I like the Sanctuary, but with the winds, I could not have used it to my full advantage.

    Good to know! Thank you.

  7. This was my experience. I boarded shortly after noon. I headed to my cabin, but the doors leading from the elevator lobby were closed and a sign said cabins will be available after 1PM. I knew I wanted to do the Sanctuary on one of the Sea Days heading back to FLL. I went directly TO THE SANCTUARY, where there was a line up of perhaps 10-12, It was about 12:25PM when I arrived. The Sanctuary manager was taking 2 couples at a time inside to locate and reserve chairs. At one point she announced to the line that it was "filling up" on Sea Days. About 1:15PM it was my turn. She said there was 1 chair left for the Friday Sea Day (what I wanted). Perfect. phew .....

I did get the last available chair for my preferred day. I understand that there were quite a few B2B Pax who signed up in the morning.

I can not imagine they could take phone calls to reserve, just my observation.

I DID enjoy my day in the Sanctuary on Friday, although it was quite windy. It would have been really nice without that wind.. The attendants were wonderful and I really enjoyed our afternoon tea break in the afternoon.

    Thank you
