  1. Kilts are perfectly acceptable on any occasion. Most of us would not be happy with a drop in dress standards. I have seen nothing to suggest that will be the case. There are plenty other Lines catering for those who like to dress as if they've just finished an afternoon in the vegetable plot.
  2. Good luck getting into the galley to tip the chefs and KP's, or do you not bother about them and the other unseen workers?
  3. Although we always take a 2 top, we always end up chatting to those around us and often invite others around to join us in our room for fizz/cocktails before dinner.
  4. Tables for 2 are quite large and certainly more than adequate. As has been pointed out, if you have a table for 4, you will be dining with the same 2 strangers every morning, noon and night. The Maitre d' allocates the tables. Q1's are always in the front area, then Q2's. Some regular and well known pax are also prioritised.
  5. Just to be on the safe side, bring a few more bottles with you if you intend to entertain every night. There is no limit to what you can bring on board. Beers and soft drinks/mixers will be delivered as requested without charge.
  6. I don't think they print them now. You have to look at the montors.
  7. WE've used https://www.tmrchauffeurs.co.uk/ at least 30 times. Get a quote for a S-Class Merc. Journey time around 2 hours max.
  8. Miniatures can be worn at any time. Some ranks may need permissions for medals proper, if it's deemed they might be representing the military. My wee boy wears his whenever he sees fit without any permissions.
  9. They will arrange a photo shoot just about anywhere and any reasonable time, any day.
  10. It's a max of 15 per 24 hours, with at least a ten minute interval between.
  11. I've often seen them paint the hull in port, using extra long brushes. No chipping or priming.
  12. Apparently, the ships all get heavier by around 12 tons per year (or so an engineering officer told me). That's the approximate amount of paint etc. brought on board annually.
  13. Officially, it's all small measures, whether wine or spirits.
  14. Macaroni maybe, but not Peking Duck which is always a special order woth three days notice.
  15. Don't forget, many people may well decide to purchase extra shares to boost their holding when the price is low and/or attractive. Therefore, the potential benefits pool would sharply decrease. It works two ways!
  16. The shortanswer is yes, she could. However, the fact that she is paying far more for the privilege of dining Club, and she may not be too pleased wasting all that money on something she doesn't get. The restaurant is the ONLY club privilege. Might not be the surprise she wants.
  17. We regularly sail on all three (soon to be four) ships and are pleased to say, that they are all in excellent condition. The only exception was last year's TA round trip on which it was noticable that the exterior needed some TLC, but inside was in superb condition.
  18. ...but my point was; there are no more shares on the market! The total amount of shares now is exactly the same as before Covid. Carnival have not issued any more shares. Whether people buy/ sell makes no difference to the amount in circulation.
  19. Surely the share price makes absolutely no difference? If somebody bought 100 x Shares at £50, then sold them at £10 then they would have made a £4000 loss, not Carnival. The exact same number of shares are in circulation. Supply and demand just change the price.
  20. The "Oxford" refers to the type of toe cap. On a plain shoe, the toe cap would be the highly polished part which doesn't move or crease.
  21. The crew are not proud. They'll accept rupees/Krona/pesos. In fact any currency you can mention. We tend to exchange large USD notes for 5's and 10's and despite paying the daily hotel charge, we still tip when we receive exceptional service.
  22. Probably not many more than 10% of pax will participate. If you're not a ball room dancer, then I wouldn't bother. In almost 30 Cunard trips, we've never worn a mask at any time.
  23. Our daughter Fiona, commuted to Oslo 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off and was on Colorline Magic as principle cast member. She even had a (small) single cabin with a porthole!!
