  1. We're on QV later this week. If they're on, I'll ask Bryan and Tommy if indeed they are on for Xmas and NY
  2. It almost seems that one, or both of you, is determined to push the boundaries as low as you can. Why not turn it around and see how much nicer you'd both look completely "glammed up". Then, you'd not look out of place and probably love being part of the experience. It doesn't have to cost a fortune, but I'm sure, you'd have a far better time if you respected the Cunard traditions, and feel more part of the "family" if you chose to aspire to a higher dress appearance and enjoy the ambiance.
  3. Doesn't sound right. Definitely below minimum requirements, which, by the way, are set quite low.
  4. I take it all back! The day after I posted, MY WIFE received an electronic copy. Not quite the same, but better than nothing. Stewart
  5. On both QV and QE, there are separate stand alone showers in all "Q's".
  6. They obviously don't like me. I get neither. It's about 5 or 6 years since I received one. I even updated my preferences, but to no avail. Must be because I've only done 300+ nights in QG.
  7. We'll be travelling to Madeira and the Canaries, on QV, leaving on 24 November. I think this will be our 7th on this particular cruise. We've never had to tender in. Always docked. What makes you think tendering might be necessary?
  8. We don't have much, but we did get this:
  9. The system should pick it up when you book. A good TA might be an advantage.
  10. Just checked in for 24th November trip. Q3 & Diamond - check in 12:30pm.
  11. On QM2. a Bell Boy escorts Q1 - Q4. The rest of the Q's have to join the plebs and fend for themselves. Serves them right.
  12. Bring whatever you want. We take 4 - 6 bottles of Veuve. Others bring more. You can also top up if you are in ports.
  13. We like the Q3's on Deck 8 at the stern. However, if you are not an early riser, the stewards start putting out the loungers at 6:30am, and it is noisy. We don't really mind.
  14. Sorry, I was referring to the wine package.
  15. We purposely booked 2 x QG roome at each side of the laundry on QV. One was for us, and one for my parents. The idea was that we cound use the laundry as a passageway to each others rooms. It actually worked out well and we never heard any noise or fighting from the laundry.
  16. It's not a good option. Over the years, they have consistently reduced the package availability. One of the options used to be champagne, but it disappeared, just like port, just like chateau neuf, and just like all other decent choices. We used to take it, but it became less and less favourable.
  17. The Headliners have a westbound programme and a eastbound one (usually) so there shouldn't be any repeats. Any "special"speakers, normally only do one way.
  18. I was pleased to read that! I thought it was just me. Never got the thing to work, so her indoors brings a jar of instant. I really prefer tea.
  19. No Some ladies dress as flappers. Anything else is a bit over the top. Most of us don't bother.
  20. In QG, there's a kettle AND a coffee machine.
  21. ...either that or go to Marks and Spencer's and get one for £100
  22. Let's set up the Grill Police (a bit like the fashion police). The GP will patrol the Grill Only areas. If they don't look right, they'll listen to the accents. Often, they'll give themselves away. The GP will also watch for their reading material. The riff-raff tend to read trashy magazines instead of proper literature. If they're ordering pints of brown ale, they're probably not in the Grills. Flat caps or knotted handerchiefs on their heads are another give away. Listen carefully for strange bodily noises that Grill clients don't make. We'll certainly root them out!!!
  23. When you're on a multi-thousand pound holiday, why bother about a couple of hundred USD laundry charges? It doesn't make sense. Her indoors, takes our smalls to the self serve laundrette a couple of times during a 2 week trip, usually just before 8:00am. We collect them less than an hour later, after breakfast. Everything else gets sent out. Only when they are quiet, they offer the deals. Take them if they do!
  24. I would be annoyed if I couldn't get a seat or lounger because they were taken by people who hadn't paid to use them and I had. Until recent years, your card had a small black diamond in the middle if you were in Grills.
  25. We've been reminded on several occasions that there is no room service on disembarkation day. Breakfast starts at 6:30am in all restaurants.
