Those signs were put up during the last drydock when they "planned" to add Wonderland.  That never materialized but they never changed the signs.

You know that thought crossed our minds...or maybe they are going to add it when the ship is in drydock in Sept.  It was no disappointment for us as we tried Wonderland when we were on Harmony and did not care for it..except the dessert:)

I think that map shows Diamond Lounge outside of Silk

Yes, it did, so when we went there the first night to go to the DL, we found that out! We then asked several crew members and finally found one who knew where the Diamond lounge was located! We were /are still confused about "Wonderland" being on the map, but not on the cruise. We only went on Oasis for the Med. itinerary as it's our least favorite of that class. Once you go on Harmony, you are spoiled:)

Where Dazzles was will now be the Music Hall on Oasis

Thanks for the info. We were on Oasis last month and where they showed the Diamond lounge on the "ship map" was not where the Diamond lounge was located:( Also, Wonderland was on the map and was no where on the ship...but the map location for it was where the Diamond lounge was, I believe. So was there a Wonderland on Oasis and it didn't do well so they took it out?...I don't know. It was pretty confusing since we've never run into a ship map that wasn't correct.

We are taking Mom on her very first cruise in August to celebrate her 90th birthday. My husband and I have done the Mystery thing a long time ago and did enjoy it-I cannot remember what ship.

Questions : How is the meal?    Is the "mystery" fun ? We want this to be a great week for Mom and she is quite a mystery buff. There are 6 of us and its a bit pricey, but I dont want to waste the time and dollars if it is "meh".

    THANK YOU!!

We did it a couple of years ago and to be honest, we were very disappointed. The food at Giovanni's was a restricted menu as stated...and it wasn't very good. The Mystery play was way over dramatized by crew members. We used OBC for it, but would never go again. RC has so many other entertainment options that we thoroughly enjoy:)

Have a wonderful cruise with your mom!

That is what is going to happen during the Allure and Oasis dry-docks.  Loved the two story DL.  Our last cruise on Symphony the overflow for Suite guests was Dazzles every night,  Diamonds used the DL, The Attic and Jazz on 4 every night for overflow, a few nights we still used our vouchers to avoid the crush. Found they only use top shelf liquor in the Wonderland bar but still honor the vouchers.

That is very unfortunate. So are they going to put Wonderland in that space? If so, ....uuuuggghh...what a waste. The venue is beautiful on Harmony but the food was weird and tasted awful (except for the dessert).

  6. We did it 2 years ago when it was only 8.99, but at $20 it's still a deal when you look at prices of Escape rooms in your area. We solved it with a few minutes to spare with about 14 of us. It was very challenging, but with everyone thinking "outside the box" we made it out....and it was fun seeing our escape mates throughout the cruise:) The hour goes by VERY fast!!!

Does anyone know if the puzzle has changed from 2 years ago? I would love to participate again in Sept., but feel it would be unfair if the puzzle is still the same.

  7. Good to hear about the rashguards, Mike.  After my childhood best friend received a stage 4 melanoma diagnosis (she's a survivor thanks to MD Anderson), it shook me to the core, so I am encouraging everyone to wear rashguards . I'm  pleased that there are so many cute and stylish ones out there!

So happy to hear you are having such a fun time on Harmony! We are on her in 12+ weeks for the second time:)

I don't do the sun period, my skin has two color options, pale or red, I choose pale.  When we lay out for brief periods outside the Solarium, we find a spot where I can sit in the shade somewhere near my wife but out of the sun, lol.  Quality time together!

I guess we'll have to find the other food items on our own.

Just saw the post that mentioned snorkeling, good to hear.  My wife is more into snorkeling than I am so we don't do pure snorkeling excursions but I don't want to deprive her so we find ways to fit it in we activities we both enjoy (like Captain Bob on St. Maarten, you stop twice to snorkel, I sat out one of them and hung out with the boat captain's assistant and had a beer).  We're going to a beach club in Costa Maya on this trip that has all you can eat/drink (can you tell how much I like to eat or cruise vacations?) but also includes free use of snorkeling and kayaks.

Good info about the slides as well.

BTW, if I'm posting too much in this thread, please tell me.  I won't be offended.  I can only repay you with compliments and if you ever head to Alaska, one of the longest trip report I've ever seen on CC, written by yours truly last summer.

When I saw your post about protecting your fair skin, I just wanted to let you know what I do (and have even talked my "tannable" DH into doing:): We purchased rashguard shirts at Lands End. They have 50 proof protection...AND best of all they are really cute. I buy ones to match our bathing suits. And the best thing about them is that we can stay in the water 90% of the time we are at the beaches and we get no sunburn...or tan! Of course we protect our faces and necks with sunscreen and wear hats, but this way we can still enjoy the water and the sunshine:):)

Hope this info helps a lot of people! Happy cruising!

I thought Harmony did not have a Solarium pool?

Oops..I meant when we were on the Oasis and Allure cruises....Harmony's solarium is very hot during the day...but you could easily get a lounge there and then constantly run to the pool showers:)

    • Thanks 1
  10. Um, when you see how many people are in the very overcrowded pools, you may want to cool off by just showering in one of the pool showers. Sorry, but we just find it gross taking a "bath" with that many people...and yes we avoid all hot tubs, too:) We enjoy the pools in the "off" hours...the Solarium pool is wonderful in the evenings:)  Germophobics? Maybe...but also want to make sure we don't get any infections....

    Happy cruising!

I am looking for advice regarding cellphone usage for our Allure cruise leaving 6/16.  I have AT&T --iPhone.  I was planning to get the $100 unlimited calls and texts package for the cruise from AT&T.  Then, use the $10 per day International Plan while were are in St Martin and Labadee--I know I can use the phone as normal on San Juan.

What are suggestions for cellphone usage during the cruise?  It stinks to have to work, but it has to happen for me.

My workaholic DH also works during our cruise vacations. He arranges with his employer's IT dept. to set him up for access in the Caribbean. Hope this helps and hope you don't have to work too many hours during your cruise.

Um, you guys you need to press the "reset" button (as in OFF) when you vacation:)

Have group booked on Harmony in November.  We used Google and were able to locate uploads of Cruise Compass from February which may or may not be same.  We are making plans based on the schedule at that time but keeping in mind there may be a need to change plans...nothing in concrete.

Haven't seen a chocolate buffet in many years.  Do they still have them?

When we were on Harmony a couple of years ago, they had a chocolate themed breakfast one day in the MDR and one day at lunch in the MDR they had a beautiful display of chocolate desserts (people were taking pics before they served them). Hope this helps...I did not see notice of these  two themes in the cruise compass, but asked our waiter in the MDR.

Due to a few high readings of blood pressure my Dr put me on a low dose of a blood pressure med, an ACE inhibitor, and of course I leave Saturday for my cruise on Monday.  I have an appointment to go back tomorrow because I am having some side effects (just started the med) and want to see if it is alright if I hold off until I return from my cruise, as long as I can contact Royal and make arrangements to keep my sodium as low as possible.

Anyway it got me wondering about the RCI medical facilities?  One of the possible side effects from my meds is a swollen face, or at worst, a tongue (which would be an emergency).  Is the ship equipped to deal with things like that?

My heart goes out to you  regarding your side effects from the BP meds...ugghh, they can be awful.... headaches, dizziness and nausea. But believe me, the side effects should get better as your body adjusts to them. I had to go to the Dr. on two ships , one for a UTI and the other for a pinched nerve that caused SEVERE pains down my arm. The one Doc gave me an antibiotic and the other gave me a muscle relaxer and Aleve for my arm (which did nothing). To be fair my pinched nerve pain was so bad my BP went to over 185, so the doc was "scared " to give me anything. To be honest I was concerned that he thought maybe I was just looking for narcotics, but I assured him that I didn't want anything like that, just something that would make the painful contractions (yes that is what it felt like constantly going down my arm for 8 days!!!). When I arrived home my internist gave me a steroid pack, which I called a miracle med:).

I hope you feel better and have a WONDERFUL cruise!
