Isn't an 18% gratuity charge automatically added on to the $7.95?

No ticket required for the theatre - just show up.
Ice show is different - the show you see depends on your muster station. Check the Cruise Compass to see which one you have been allocated. If it's not convenient for you - you can queue up on the night you want to go and they will let you in after everyone else has gone in.
Re MTD - if you want a particular table/waiter/time every night - yes you can request that.
Thank you for the info regarding the ice show as this is different than any other RC cruises we have been on. I will make sure to check the cruise compass and compare it with our muster station because we don't want to miss it!

I just rec'd an email from my TA about the Royal Up program for our cruise next month. However, when I looked at several cruise sites there are no cabins available higher than our JS GTY. I have a feeling the TA was a little late sending us this email. Do you agree that if the suites all show "sold out," there is nothing to bid on?

Banana Split from the children's menu
We can actually order a banana split...if we are only a "kid at heart?"

Update: We booked with Caribbean Day pass. Waited 48 hrs as they suggest. Then we emailed again to follow up and they replied that day pass booking was confirmed and that they will be emailing us the vouchers. Vouchers arrived via email.
We rec'd our day passes also.....a little more than the 48 hrs after the email...but before the end of the day:) So all is good and we look so forward to going to Barcelo next month:)

Hey, you are lucky you didn't just get your cabin assignment at the pier; it can happen.
And yes, when you book a guarantee, you should make sure that you will be happy with any cabin in that category or any cabin that might be an upgrade. Also be aware as a guarantee and if the ship is oversold, you may also be called to be notified that the only cabin available is one of the worst on the ship and you can have it if you want (usually will come with some type of sweetener for the downgrade).
If they need to downgrade you, are you also given the option of cancelling?

Had the same experience with shore excursioneer showing sold out and Caribbean day pass showing availability.
But Barcelo is available for $366 for that night.Okay..thanks for the info....I must have looked at the wrong date. We still did not receive an email from caribbean day pass with our passes. The initial we rec'd said they were processing our request with our $30 receipt.

I understand that going on a 14 day cruise may mean packing more clothes...but thank goodness our "undies" don't weigh much and there is no way I would want strangers touching them. Plus when I hear the awful stories of how clothes are returned after sending them to the laundry, there is no way I would take the chance. But " to each his own."
-
Never understood the laundry need. We just wash any of the clothes we need and hang them to dry after we've "towel dried them." I guess we just don't feel comfortable having strangers touching our "stuff," personal and otherwise:)

We booked Barcelo for $77 p/p through Caribbean Day Pass for the 1-9 pm as our port time will be 10am till midnight. Hope we'll find chairs with shade at the beach and/or around the pool. Looking forward to our day, Dec 4th
We just booked Barcelo through Car.DayPass and saw that shorexc. passes were sold out for the same day. I hope we don't have a problem. I also noticed that Barcelo was sold out that night for anyone who wanted to stay. there. Not sure why .......

Is anyone else waiting for their GTY assignment on SOTS, Oct 20, out of Boston.
Did I miss your post letting us know what cabin you were assigned to and when?

You don't need to protect them from tearing -- it's difficult to tear paper that has been folded that many times. Try it for yourself and see -- thick paper doesn't tear easily.
The actual "damage danger" is in the staple -- if you only staple your luggage tags at the end, so they make a big loop, it's more likely that something (like someone's hand as they're grabbing for a bag or the wheel on another suitcase, etc.) will catch on the loop and cause the staple to pull through and the tag to then fall off.
When you put the tag on your bag, the best thing to do is staple the end and then also staple it NEAR THE HANDLE, so the loop part is tight around the handle and the rest of the tag is lying flat. If there's not a loose part to catch on things, then there's pretty much no way that the tag is coming off the bag unintentionally. We do the same thing you do and have never had a problem with tags tearing or being removed. We do not attach them to our luggage until we are leaving the hotel for the port.

Harmony is a GREAT ship....so much to do! The only thing I didn't understand was why they haven't replaced the chairs in the American Icon dining room (deck 3). They are made with bonded leather with most of them cracked and/or torn. The main dining rooms on decks 4 and 5 had beautiful comfortable chairs. Have a wonderful cruise as I hope you get to go to Coco Cay....it is beautiful...the blue ocean water as well as the pool!

How unfair!
Agree...the cabin attendants work so hard and have always been so kind. On our recent HOS, when I waited line at the Cafe Prom to ask for a paper cup and lid (which are now behind the counter, out of reach)for my tea, the young lady turned her back from me and walked to the back room before I could say a word. HOS would have only one crew member at a time in Cafe Prom, even after a show when there would be an influx of people creating a long line. The food selections were also VERY minimal in Cafe Prom. for how many cruisers there were on the ship. From then on, I just went to the Diamond lounge to get my paper cup and tea. Our past RC cruises had many happy crew members who seemed to love their job....it was just really different on the recent OS. The other 5 people I cruised with felt the same way...just a strange vibe all around.

I’ve been on a lot of cruises on 6 different cruise lines. Is it just me or does the royal Caribbean staff seem very unhappy. Don’t get me wrong we have encounter some friendly staff but over half of the workers never smile and they seem inconvenienced when you ask for items. Even the kids club staff acted like they hate children. I’ve never experienced this on other cruise lines but it seems like royal Caribbean it’s every cruise.
We just got off Harmony on Sunday and I brought up this issue on my survey. We noticed there were few smiling faces and even rude crew members at the Cafe Prom. This was our 19th cruise with RC and it was the unfriendliest cruise we have been on. We refused to let this ruin our good time.

That's what I figured...we keep checking everyday for our end of Nov. cruise to see if we have a cabin assignment.

Is “meh” in the dictionary? After a beach day it is best to hop in the shower before a nap or whatever. I learned the hard way when a million shells fell out of my suit, always go straight to the shower now!
Totally agree....after a day at the beach, we can't wait to shower and get all the sand and salt off of our bodies and bathing suits.

Agree with everyone...hope for, but don't expect an upgrade.
How soon after booking a GTY do you usually receive a cabin assignment?

This ^^^^^The DL on Harmony is a joke !!!
Totally agree...WAY too crowded. We just went in to get a glass of wine on our way to dinner. Now that we can use our Diamond "coupons" on our set sail pass in the MDR, we will totally skip the DL.

I would LOVE to have a Bomba themed restaurant!
If you have not experienced Wonderland I could understand where you would say this (adversely, I have yet to experience the diamond lounge.) Wonderland is probably the best dining experiences I have had on a ship and top 5 I have had PERIOD.
We all have different tastes and I'm happy for you that you had a "wonderful" experience at "Wonderland." Ours was the opposite. The only food we liked was the chocolate dessert. But the ambiance was beautiful. The food was just too weird for us...and it was a huge rip off for $50pp.

I vote that they do take out Wonderland it replace it with the Diamond Lounge. The DL on Harmony is not large enough to accommodate DL cruisers.

Whoa...that sky is quite scary! It is so unfortunate for all the cruisers who were scheduled for Coco Cay through next Tues. that they won't be able to go there. Once again, Mother Nature is in control!
Enjoying your review Andrew. Thank you for taking us along....

Bella just needs a big pink bow around her neck to match her ears:) I love it when people dress up their doggies, especially the cute ones like Bella.
