  1. Darn guess I'm out of luck, I don't have a cell phone that will work for this so don't have the app. Assume we can dine someplace on elegant night we no longer carry his suit on vacations. Thanks
  2. Ok more questions, with YTD is there a dedicated dining venue? We have two main dining rooms listed (hasn't sailed yet so info out there) Grand Canal & Marco Polo. We would want Marco Polo at least once do we get to choose? Also you have elegant nights? Is that just the formal evenings like other lines, except NCL they have do what you want. Thanks again.
  3. Good morning all and happy weekend. I have more questions. On Princess have always gotten early seating even last Oct. with their DMW program. We booked six months out and had to go on a wait list for early seating, is this normal? Is their YTD that bad people who know latch on to set times for dining early? Can't wait to find out about the two MDRs, not booking any specialty dining on this trip, at least not at this time. I see in the available videos they have a lot of two person tables in both venues. Would love to go to the Marco Polo but not sure if this is a dedicated venue to timed seating. Hopefully somebody on the TA in 23 days does a report for us, not sure how this ships WiFi will be for the crossing. Take care, Laura
  4. Very interesting, I think we have seen these at Lowes near us. So if I purchase gift cards I can use these to pay my on board charges at the end of the cruise instead of having the full amount on our credit card? We generally use whatever cash we still have the last day to pay on or even pay off on board charges would like having this option. It will only be drinks and lattes for me and soda at meals for hubby, maybe a little extra goodie. Not sure what's available on Carnival ships for extra others than casino and bingo. Great info thanks.
  5. Thank you have been on the boards and was told you don't get your cabin card until your cabin is ready after 1:30. Hubby is not thrilled, first had to take a balcony (only option available late booking) now cards left in the hall. Told him we will just check charges day one. Me I plan to have a lovely adventure, I'm on a cruise and I make my own enjoyment. I booked us when I needed to cancel our anniversary trip to Venice. Can't fly at this time and while looking at home port (northeast) saw San Marco 😁, it had to be a sign so I booked, but only six months out so took a balcony. Had my favorite area aft but description didn't list a sofa (odd shape cabin 7495). Been watching face book for changes being made. Plan to arrive after lunch but wanted to drop the carry one off hence FTTF would be good for me, but will just park someplace and wait. Told I would use boarding pass if I wanted a drink and he would get a soda. I'm going for the ship this trip though the two ports are new for me as a bonus, I don't count HMC as a port I'm not a beach person. Getting excited, planning is half the fun, Laura
  6. Hello and welcome. I have been the only one posting since Jan. was concerned I had the wrong group 😊 . Sorry no answer to your question we go to NY by train from Boston the hop in a taxi to the port. We haven't sailed Carnival in over 10 years and haven't sailed out of Manhattan since 2014 on NCL. Are you coming in a day early? Maybe you should look at a company that uses a van? You will get lots of answers on the East Coast Departure board, very helpful folks on this board. Have a great day, Laura
  7. Didn't look at this that way we arrive later in the day. What does this cost anyway? Thanks
  8. Thanks new Process for us appreciate everyone helping me out.
  9. It has been several years since we have sailed from Manhattan Cruise Terminal. We are sailing on the Carnival Venezia this summer and I can't for the life of me remember if there are stairs up to the security and boarding area. I am on oxygen now but do walk fine but slowly at this time, I can't manage climbing stairs. Any information on this terminal will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  10. Is there a taxi stand at the port? We haven't decided if we will try to get a hotel near by and just walk or head to Penn and take a train home same day. Thanks
  11. Now question time. Just found out we don't get our cabin cards until cabin is ready and steward will give us our sail and sign cards. Checked on FTTF as we can't get a suite (all booked) and I can't stand in a two hour line so will arrive after lunch time maybe about 1-1:30. Hopefully line are shorter as most folks want to be on board early. Question 1 - Does CCL enforce the assigned boarding time? Question 2 - Does anybody know how many outlets are in a balcony cabin? Gave up cabin 7495 because no sofa now in a standard balcony. Question 3 - Has anybody done FTTF? And is this made available after final payment? Question 4 - Has anybody purchased the cans of soda to be delivered to the cabin? Well sure will have more questions having not sailed Carnival in almost 10 years. Thanks, Laura
  12. Thank you everybody, sounds simple. Will receive car from steward once cabin is ready after 1:30 most times. If no FTTF or suite will arrive later in the day so maybe cabin will be all set by then 😁. Now that I have read mini drive in cabin will order cans of soda for hubby. Just 120 day until we sail out of New York.
  13. I don't plan on a package, how would hubby get soda? Or he could just drink lemonade if available I guess. We plan on showing up well after lunch as most people like early boarding. If no FTTF and a suite doesn't open up that is our plan, fingers crossed no two hour wait in line can't stand that long especially in the heat.
  14. So when you get to the port just go through security and walk on? We would have boarding passes I assume and are your cards active left outside your cabin? Love this site, would never know this otherwise thanks.
  15. Thanks I will look in our booking if not there notify TA to check. We always get our cabin cards when we check in at the port not from cabin steward or did I misread the prior post? Only Princess as they have a medallion we get in the mail, just scans at port and on you go. We sail Aug. 31 on the Venezia, should be fun even though in the summer.
  16. Question, heard about Faster To The Fun but didn't see this on our booking and TA didn't mention it? Is this on all sailings? Also sort of new what is Sail and Sign cards? Thanks
  17. We are new (almost sailed Carnival 2004 & 2005) TA said she couldn't get us early seating which is what we always get on other lines, so have YTD? Should we ask to be waitlisted or just go and wait at early seating? We always sit at a table for two if that makes a difference. Thanks
  18. Thank you very much for your live report. We are looking at LA to NY in Aug. Love Princess and have done the canal once long ago. We would have slightly different ports but the ship looks great.
  19. We tried it on the first, third, and fifth morning sent it back each time. Was a little PO'd on the fifth day because the cup he brought me left a thick film on the inside and skirt on the bottom. Think he added hot water to a cup from the pot I returned. Needed extra cream and sugar to drink the half a cup I could stomach. Asked for tea but left it he used 1 teabag to a full pot of hot water. Will take packets of coffee next time on NCL just in case.
  20. Always love mine as well but on the Pearl it was awful. Thick is one thing but couldn't get past the grit. Thought new folks did something wrong but nope.
  21. If you go to east coast departure site there is lots of information there. If you can't locate an answer in a search just ask and somebody who has sailed from this port will have an answer. I will be checking this site as well because it has been years since we have sailed from Manhattan. Enjoy the planning.
  22. That's their plan 😁. I went without instead most days.
  23. Yes the three of us drank in room coffee as well. Son was sleeping in that area at 4:30-5:00 when I wanted that first cup though.
  24. Just off the Pearl on Friday. What have they done to my coffee? I enjoy a pleasant hot coffee but every place I went the coffee was bitter or just had NO coffee taste. Worse was the French Pressed at breakfast. This was so thick and gritty I couldn't drink it. Had them give my half a cup to add cream (not half and half) to make it drinkable this just made it cold. Gave up and asked for buffet coffee but think they just added hot water to the pressed, this made it drinkable but did leave a muddy film in the cup. Gave up and changed over to tea just for the caffeine. Good part was not constant coffee drinking which I'm suppose to be avoiding anyway. Sad part is yet another change.
