Oh, I was definitely cranky at the time.  But 24 hrs later, a shaded balcony, a perfect day with the ocean gliding by....life is good. 🤗

What a lovely person you are @goofysmom99.  You handled this entire unfortunate situation you found yourself in with grace.

Thank you for taking us along as your quarantine unfolded.

Enjoy what is left of the cruise and count your blessings.

Close contact Crew members are quarantined 7 days even though they test negative

Will they have to leave the ship?  If b2b folks that were close contacts can't do b2b then the same would apply to crew, right?????

    Oops posted same time.

We found out while in the Retreat Lounge that the current Covid outbreak was traced back to the Martini bar and that 4 bartenders are quarantined. Doesn't surprise me since there is no social distancing there during busy times.

Thinking of the those quarantined bartenders.  Hope they are negative and back to work quickly or do they have to leave the ship?    I feel bad that they will miss getting all those generous tips.  So sad.  We forget how much they add to our fun on board.

Murano last night was very good and service outstanding. We drank 3 wines from the wine by glass menu a French Champagne,  a nice Bordeaux and the late harvest wine with desert. BTW the wine menu exactly matches the one in the Celebrity smart app. This was our 50th anniversary dinner and it was made special by the amazing staff of Murano.

You just click those three dots at the top right corner of one of your posts, select “report” and make your request for the title change there. Since you’re the OP, it’s possible that you may be the only one who can request the change🙂

    OK I did that.  thx

  6. I almost missed your sailaway.  I remembered just in time to see the Equinox go past the building where the camera is.  You must have sailed straight up 6pm.

Have a great cruise.  I will be with you all the way.  These blogs will have to do it for me until it is my turn on January 30th, 2022.  That's a long time!!!!!

I'm hoping that Terry will be posting.   He's been very active on both his Roll Call and on the Live Blog.

I was just logging in this morning to see  if anyone is posting myself.    I have one week to go before I fly to join the 9/05 Equinox.

I need a daily fix of CC to go with my morning coffee.

Would you please fulfill Terry's request to change the thread name to Live from August 27 Equinox.  I do not know how to do that.  thx

  8. @terrydtx

After the terrific live review from the 8/15 Equinox cruise I am spoiled and NEED my daily fix of everything Equinox, lol!!!!!  Anyone doing one on your cruise?  I thought I saw someone post that they were going to do one though not as detailed as Angela's.  Post a link please.

Happy 50th anniversary.  Enjoy your evening in Murano for your very special anniversary. Your menu choices sound yummie.

    Have a great cruise.

Just a quick note about the alcoves/cabanas. When I booked, I saw that there were discounts offered if you booked multiple days. Also, we took advantage of this offer when we sailed Reflection in Dec 2017.

In the online planner for this cruise, the cabana reservation was listed as an “alcove,” but a quick call to Celebrity assured me that these were different names for essentially the same thing.

However, I have inquired about this discount twice now. I was told this morning that there will be NO discount offered onboard Equinox.

We booked four sea days and three port days for this cruise and there will be no discount offered, so we chose to cancel our remaining bookings (two sea days & two port days).

The onboard discount we received on Reflection was approximately 20% for booking the entire cruise and around 15% for us (we had only booked 7 out of 10 days). It would have been fine if the discount wasn’t as high, but it didn’t sit right with me that they just said, “Nope. Sorry.”

I will mention, they did offer to give us lunch in Murano (which we had already booked at a discount).

I just wanted to make sure anyone reading along understands that the cabanas on Equinox DO NOT qualify for the discount listed on the website when you book.

...now I understand why you did not address the discount when I ask.  This does not sound right.  Can't blame you for cancelling the rest of the days.

Nice that they tried to appease you but in the end they did not live up to what is in writing all over the place.  I checked again.   Might be worth your while to express your displeasure to Guest Relations.  They might be able to help with the department involved behind the scene or if need be to escalate the issue to Miami.  I have had very good outcomes with Guest Relations - especially with Damian.  He is the best.  I am sure you know it is best to resolve billing issues before debarking.

    Thanks for the heads up.

The top is open, but other than the very middle of the day (for the port day that we tried out it was about 11:00-1:30) the sun is at an angle. This means you can slide the panels around to block the majority of the sun. However, this may or may not also block the breeze.

And yes! I DO still need to get to the World Class Bar! (And not just for the menu. 😊)

...oh yes.  I'm a champagne girl but those cocktails are yummy!!!!!!

Did you select a cabana port side?

You are supposed to get a discount for multiple days booked. I think it depends on the number of days. I have someone looking into it for me (I need to check on it again). I will let you know what I find.

Also. We booked the cabanas a year ago? Maybe? The price has gone up and I don’t know if they go on sale.

The $99 port day price is an amazing deal considering everything that is included. The $249 for a sea day is definitely high, but you will use it more on a sea day if you sail when the weather is hot. There’s not as much breeze when you are in port. So not comfortable all day long.

Hoping this helps you. Lmk if you have any other questions!

For sure port day is an amazing deal.  You make a very good point about the lack of a breeze on port days.  I could go to the pool to cool off.  Hmmmmm. I have to think this thru......  You did say the top is open so the sun is beating down.  We usually hang out at the Martini Bar but cocktails before dinner but up there would be lovely.  I'm thinking.....

Please don't forget to stop by the World Class Bar and get some snaps of that menu.  thx

I have seen this when booking excursions for our cruise, it seems Celebrity thinks if we are over 65 we are feeble and immobile. At 71 my DW and I are in great physical shape and have nothing that would limit us from  extraneous excursions. In fact I am  in better shape than when I was 60. I very much resent Celebrity's exclusions based purely on age.

LOL!!!!!!!   I got twisted when I could not book a Celebrity excursion via the website the reason being my age and I am way past 65.  However I was able to book a very similar excursion on another island.  I looked into it.  It wasn't Celebrity in my way.  It is the insurance coverage the tour operator has that determines the maximum age allowed.  That made me feel a bit better.

We used this for a night light.

The bathroom has a light across the top of the mirror that automatically turns on dimly  when the main cabin light is switched off.  I leave the bathroom door slightly ajar at night for soft glow in the cabin. No blinding light in the middle of the night.  Not sure if all the S-class ships have that feature.

I don’t know for sure. Here’s a photo of the outlet. It does say “shavers only” on it. But there’s a hairdryer in the room if you’re not picky about what kind you use.

Thank you for the close up.  Google says those shaver plugs can handle 20 watts.  I can't do without my T3 for my waist length hair.   Guess I must continue plugging in at the desk.
